You shouldn't be running anywhere close to max. settings on a Phenom. Try losing anti-aliasing, object details, ambient occlusion and post-process and shadows and see how you get on.
-
There's so little content in the game at present that you can find everything legitimately within a few hours of gameplay. I understood (although didn't agree with) why people did it when there were nightvision goggles with a 0.1% drop rate in the mod but I find it a bit sad in the standalone to be honest...
-
I would have thought so. It disables the low blood blur anyways.
-
DayZ requires quite a bit more bandwidth than your average game. How fast is your connection?
-
Actually using the search function before posting is general forum etiquette. And it would be nice if we could avoid the personal insults please. That goes for everyone.

How butthurt do you get when you die in Dayz? :)

6. Happened to me at the military base near Pavlovo after about 5 days. Literally had everything. R.I.P. Normally I don't care if I die, it's inevitable, but that one actually got me mad. xD -
Why don't we have a competition? Community composes menu music and then votes?

Bad idea IMO. Say no one submits anything good - then they have to use the 'best' one regardless? -
Optimisation is never done in alpha as it would just cause problems and have to be redone later. DayZ will be better optimised in future. Also, minimum requirements =/= you can run the game without it either crashing or giving you an error message and refusing to open. I would never buy a game unless I was well above the min. requirements as they guarantee only that you will be able to run the game, not that you will be able to enjoy it.

Yeah, I agree with this. During closed testing the proximity was way too large though, so I guess they overcompensated a little. I expect things like this will be subject to tweaking for some time until they're 'perfect'.
-
Percentages or any kind of bar are a bit too far IMO as you could never know how close to starvation you are with the same accuracy in real life. I think the idea of a wider spectrum of messages and colours to give you a better idea is great though.
-
I'm not sure if you're trolling or serious but I'll humour you... Because these are the kind of things that will be added further down the line and it saves time to have people working on them now, alongside the various other features. On a side note - you did not buy shares or otherwise invest in BiS, you simply bought one of their products.

Fluid movement and aiming is great in arcade shooters like CoD, Battlefield and CS but being able to twitch aim between targets has no place in a game that strives for authenticity. The option to disable mouse acceleration will smooth things out a little bit when that is added, but I don't think that a CoDlike level of control over your character is something that the devs are aiming for.

^This. Clouds are causing the stuttering. If you set clouds to disabled then it will stop.

Video is pushing 3 slightly off set images

Check if the 'Enable stereoscopic 3D' box is ticked in NVIDIA Control Panel. -
Yeah, sticking to the servers with names like GB, UK, NL, etc. is the best way to go. I've never had my char reset up until this point and I change servers all the time.
-
You don't need 64Gb RAM. 8Gb is plenty and 16Gb is more than enough... Most games will only use about 4Gb at present.
-
To give some frame of reference - Chernarus took 5 years to build. I doubt we'll see any entirely new maps any time soon.
-
AFAIK it's to do with some servers not being set up properly. Find a server that works for you and (if possible) stick to it.
-
You should disable clouds. They are causing the stuttering at present.
-
You need to eat extra food and drink extra water, simply not having any hunger or thirst icons visible in the gear menu is not enough, and rest. If you run around then your hunger and thirst levels will drop quickly and you'll stop regaining health.
-
Optimisation is literally never done in alpha. It would just have to be done again later on. Expect better performance once we're into beta and then the final release. The stuttering is a bug caused the clouds. Disabling them fixes it.
-
Indeed. It should take a minute or two and you should be visibly attempting to struggle your way out of the cuffs.
-
1. There will never be safe zoned in DayZ. Sorry! 2. The hunger and thirst icons cycle through yellow, orange and then red to show how hungry or thirsty you are. 3. Get off the coast and in to towns that haven't been looted yet. 4. DayZ is a sandbox game. No play style should be punished. 5. Chernarus is not in Russia. It's its own country. 6. I think you may have spent too much time in the spawn with a DMR/"PvP" mod servers. 7. See above. If you don't like the current state of the standalone then I'm not sure you know DayZ's roots. :S 8. This is an alpha build. Vehicles are being completely reworked and will not be added for some time.
-
As above - if you want to set up a stronghold get a clan and go for it. There will never be NPCs, "safe zones" or scripted events in DayZ though.
-
Your health is low. If you eat and drink more than you usually would and rest for a while you will start to recover health.
