DAYZ EUROPA - The world's finest vanilla DayZ Mod server
Mos1ey replied to vinyljunkie's topic in Mod Servers & Private Hives
Yeah, we had a hard time getting in over the weekend... On a side note - have you ever considered a 2nd (smaller) 1st person only server? -
how to get day z over poach to work on takistan
Mos1ey replied to TwilightVelvet's topic in Mod Servers & Private Hives
We don't support Epoch, Overpoch, Underpoch or any other pochs you can think of. They're unofficial mods. Try the Wiki or the website of the server that you're trying to connect to... http://overpoch.wikia.com/wiki/OverPoch_Wiki Locked. -
I managed to infect my friend with a water bottle that I filled from a well, which I wasn't aware was possible. Now he's mad. :D I was under the impression that water from a well was always safe, and only pond water required boiling, but that doesn't seem to be the case. Is boiling all water prior to consuming the only way to have 0% chance of infection or... ?

Both of you are wrong. The difference is that you were more aggressive. -
Do Zombies Dream Of A Good Nights Sleep? (Zombie feedback)

Less of this, please. -
Nice! I always missed the tents in DayZ SA. :(
-
It's a nice idea but in reality that wouldn't happen. It would just turn into "Oh, I'm infected. Let's walk somewhere easy to get to and then commit suicide."
-
Well luckily DayZ runs more from the CPU than the graphics card, so it won't be as bad as it could be, but the system is really poorly balanced so it will under perform overall. That seems to be the case with most prebuilt systems. They either give you a really nice CPU and then skimp on the graphics card or vice versa. One of the main reasons that it's always better to buy the parts and assemble it yourself.
-
The graphics card is very weak. You will want to upgrade that at some point, which will also require a power supply upgrade.
-
That's a decent CPU but I'd need more information (on the graphics card, mainly) to tell you how well it will run.
-
Rocket always said that he wanted to keep this kind of stuff to an absolute minimum. He prefers the idea of player's actions dictating the "lore" of DayZ, rather than props etc.
-
Do you need a laptop? That machine will struggle badly, but you could build a desktop that will run the game great for the same price.

Simple Survival Gaming US | Day 24/7 | WalkingZeds
Mos1ey replied to jasper123 (DayZ)'s topic in Mod Servers & Private Hives
Please keep bumping to once per 24 hours, absolute maximum. Thanks. -
Yes, you can run the game, but it won't run particularly well. You would definitely be playing on lower graphics settings with fairly low frame rates.

DAYZ EUROPA - The world's finest vanilla DayZ Mod server
Mos1ey replied to vinyljunkie's topic in Mod Servers & Private Hives
Played for a good few hours last night. It's good to see you guys still supporting the vanilla mod and the server so active. Also recognised a few names from when I used to play on your server a while back. :) -
It will run, but will not perform well. Buy at your own risk.
-
NWAF will offer better fights and better rewards.
-
Both of these will struggle with DayZ. It's not really the kind of game that I would recommend playing on a laptop, unless you've sunk some serious money into one with powerful hardware. As Bones said - I wouldn't recommend buying DayZ unless you're planning on upgrading. Vauntin, yours is a little better, but the game will not perform particularly well. Sorry!
-
Yes, that's a decent build. Unfortunately DayZ does not utilise multi-core technology anywhere near as well as it could at this point, so your FX-8350 won't perform as well as an equivalent Intel CPU would, but it shouldn't run too badly and will improve in future.
-
"An error has occured." I can't view it.
-
This I could understand, but surely the arms/weapon model would have the same effect?
-
In my experience most of the people that complain about motion sickness seem to either play with headbob and post-process effects enabled for unknown reasons. I've always preferred 1pp in Arma and DayZ and never had any problems with the 1st-person view. :)

FYI - white text is completely invisible for people who use the white layout.
-
To be honest more power than you actually need is better for a few reasons. Firstly, PSUs operate more efficiently at about 60% load and secondly it gives you room for upgrading in future without having to worry about buying a new PSU. I'd recommend switching to a reputable brand like Corsair, Seasonic or Antec and going for 600w or above.

Can't confirm for sure but I wouldn't risk it, especially when you can do similar things via your graphics driver with no risk.
