I think you should be able to run on stairs, but not steep hills. A different animation for steep hill climbing would be nice.

Try dropping object detail and disabling ambient occlusion and post-process. Everything else maxed and 1920x1080 (or your native res). That's what I'm running with the FPS I mentioned earlier. Also, I'm not running it from my SSD until we're into at least beta and the updates and fewer and further between. So I wouldn't have thought that was the issue. I'd try disabling hyperthreading in your BIOS, you'll definitely have more luck with utilisation if you just run it as a regular quad-core.

Sometimes you'll desync (red chain) without the server actually going down, if you more or less instantly switch to the 'no data recieved for x seconds' then the server has restarted. I'm not sure if the history tab actually works or not at this time. I'd just try and remember the name of the server, e.g. GB 1-27, or whichever you happened to choose.

We already have an identical topic, please use that one. I'll find the link, 2 seconds...

You don't until you lose connection.

I would have thought that it would be there until the server is restarted but due to the changes made in a recent patch that cause bodies to despawn after a while I'm not so sure.

Do official servers have admins? (admin abuse?)

BattlEye tend to hand out their bans in waves. I predict a massive surge of 'UNBAN ME' posts in a couple of weeks. -
I think we'll see something a bit more high-tech later on. The SVD surely... It fits the setting so well.
-
As above - once we're into beta the price will increase for new buyers and then the same again at final release, but it's a one time fee. You buy the game once and that's it, you don't pay anything else and get all future updates automatically through Steam for free.
-
Far too many ways that this could be abused. e.g. teleporting 5 of your buddies in when you end up in a 1v1 firefight, or simply teleporting to a friend to escape a firefight. I would welcome a group spawning mechanic for players that are spawning new characters, but once you have an existing character you should be tied to wherever you are on the map.

I think it will become easier to identify people as more clothing items are added over time. I don't oppose the idea of crafting bandanas/arm bands from coloured rags though, that would work too.
-
I think it will become more difficult to find various items as others are added. I think drop rates also need to be tweaked though, and I would have thought that this will all be taken care of in due time.
-
I've lost my char once and it was my own fault for joining a server with a non-official name. Stick to country-coded servers like GB 1-27 etc. and you shouldn't ever have your char wiped.

It's nothing to do with the weapons being "too good" or "overpowered", it's the fact that they just do not fit the setting. I think we will see some very powerful kit as Rocket mentioned that he wanted to introduce a global economy, i.e. some items being limited to x number being available across all servers, but I do not think we will ever see .50cal rifles as they just don't fit.

I fail to see how helicopters are counter-intuitive to survival or don't belong in an area full of airfields. The M107 (even without ammo) is very, very heavy (therefore not exactly ideal for lugging around for miles and miles) and so expensive that the local armed forces are more likely to have gone with a more viable option like the SVD. If you want to debate then please present a real argument instead of throwing around childish assumptions and loaded questions.
-
Putting the game on sale now would be very unfair to everyone that paid full price for it in the last couple of weeks. I highly doubt that it will go on sale any time soon.
-
You could always try taking the role of a medic and helping those in need. You pretty much hit the nail on the head though, there just isn't a whole lot to do at this point. That will come with time as more items and other things are added to the game, and obviously once zombies are working correctly and in greater numbers they'll provide another obstacle.
-
Reading level: beginner.

It should be obvious that they haven't quite finished adding weapons yet... I'm positive that we'll see at least one AK variant. The AK-74 was in the closed alpha, but was removed once they switched to the new system as the M4 and Mosin are the only ones that have been completed at this point.
-
I definitely think we'll see the SVD again further down the line. It might be quite rare, but that is definitely the kind of weapon that you would encounter in an area like Chernarus. These weapons are all european (save for the M4, which is one of the most commonly used weapons worldwide anyway), much lighter (which makes sense from a survival standpoint) and much less expensive (which makes sense from an availablity standpoint).

It's been confirmed by Rocket that they have done zero work on audio yet, hence the broken zombie and can opening noises all over the place. They're having a team that specialise in audio come in and do it for them.

It's a 15kg (unloaded) American rifle. It has no place in a post-apocalyptic post-soviet state...

It gets a bit lonely, but it's more fun than Coast of Duty. We've made uncontested runs of the NW and NE airfields 4 or 5 times each now so you end up spoilt for choice on gear if you're alone or in a small group. For some reason we only ever see people in the bigger northern towns with supermarkets. -
are people trying to make the SA to friendly?
Mos1ey replied to dgeesio's topic in General Discussion
It's nothing do to with helping new players. As I said in my post above - they're trying to create a more balanced game with more to it than just Coast of Duty. Don't worry, they won't turf you out of Elektro or anything.
