Probably not. There were never many tears shed over the M4A3 CCO SD in the mod. Also, you can still hear suppressed shots very clearly for 30m or so. -
Alpha to Coverage causes grass to look pixellated...

What have you got antialiasing set to? I used to get the same thing in ArmA 2 if I had AToC on and antialiasing set to anything under "very high". -
Anywhere north of Zel and west of Gorka, unfortunately.

I haven't played a huge amount since the spawns were played with but it seems to me that you can only spawn between Elektro and south of Berezino now. I miss Kamenka. :( Anyways, IMO these work fine and to me the backstory was always that you'd just washed up on the coast; hence having more or less nothing with you.

I thought it was something to do with the upper floor of those buildings, like maybe I'd fallen through the floor or something... But I guess God's wrath can strike anywhere, any time...

Indeed. My favourite death so far has got to be this one... I'd died to the dreaded ladder bug the night before and lost a relatively old char so I was dead set on gearing up fast without dying. Spawned by Elektro and popped into a few houses to grab super basic supplies and a drink of water before heading north. I made my way to Krastinav airfield stopping at every single town on the way and looting them dry, pretty much had everything by the time I got there. I approached from the north as there's the least amount of open terrain to cross that way and made my way to the first building with the holding cells. The doors were closed so I knew it hadn't been looted. I checked the ground floor and found an M4, but no ammo. Next I headed upstairs and proned out to check under the beds... You are dead. Followed by the fastest rage quit imaginable.

They aren't exactly something that you commonly see day to day in a rural post-soviet state. This would be incredibly gimmicky IMO.

Yeah, it's still sketchy though. I tend not to recommend it to people as they might see they're around the min. requirements and then not be happy when they're struggling with poor performance on low settings.

Like Daryl said - you won't miss anything. What Nightmare meant is that currently the game is in early alpha so features are missing and the game is nowhere near complete. If you buy the game now you will recieve all future updates and content for free.

Boneboys suggestion of posting your specs and asking the community is the best idea IMO. "Can I Run It" will let you know if you can run the game, but a human will be able to give you a rough idea of how the game will actually perform. Being able to run a game is very different from being able to run a game at a playable level.

It's March 2012 again... MY TIME MACHINE, IT WORKS! Oh no, it's just one of these topics. Again... EDIT: Someone quite rightly pointed out that I should probably have explained my reasoning for locking this topic and here it is... We already have a lot of more or less identical topics for both the mod and DayZ retail on the forums, if you genuinely feel that you have something worth adding to the discussion then dig one of those up. We encourage users to use the search function before posting and reposts are liable to be merged, locked or buried depending on the topic or situation.

I doubt that. I've got a HDD that I've had in my various systems for 6 or 7 years now and it still runs flawlessly. I still don't trust SSDs and would recommend minimising writes and deletes to anyone that owns one.

Because all of the weapons had to be redone because of the new attachment system.

You don't remember everyone you see anyway. Just because you've seen someone once doesn't mean that you'd definitely recognise them a week later.

No, "safe erase" sounds more like it's for ensuring that data is deleted completely and not recoverable.

What time and money? Back to the original topic... I think this is a server issue. Avoid servers with unofficial looking names as they tend to be the ones responsible for char wipes and stick to the country coded ones, e.g. GB 1-27.

Because they're incredibly instable and rewriting files slowly kills them. They're essentially timebombs, the more you write/delete files on an SSD the faster it will die.

Firstly, the zombies in DayZ are not working properly at the minute. Adding more would cause severe server instability. This will be rectified (and the zombie spawn rate ramped up) in due time. Once they're working properly there will be thousands on the map. Secondly, Rocket has expressed that he does not like the idea of (and will never add) "special infected", so that's a "no" there I'm afraid. -
I don't think we need anything like this. I think it will become easier to tell players apart over time as more clothing, backpacks and weapons are added.
