The new update is launching via the experimental build tonight, it will become available to everyone else towards the end of the week. -
Don't log out inside buildings or any other structure. Take a running vault jump at the wall, instantly disconnect and log back in.

Maybe they don't want just anyone working on the game. Faster development does not necessarily make a better game. -
More than likely "trash" loot like the empty cans, toilet roll etc. that used to spawn as loot in the mod. Money is worthless once society breaks down.

+1 Stats or achievements shouldn't promote or discourage any particular play styles.

How valuable something something is in DayZ is denoted by how useful it is for your survival. I'd rather have an M4 than 1000 batteries...

If you'd read a couple of posts, or even the OP, you'd know that all we have is an ETA of "Monday AM". They tweeted to say that there was a problem with the experimental servers and they'd be down for another 5 hours, so we're currently looking at Monday AM + ~5 hours. IMO tents should definitely despawn on your characters death. They would still server a purpose, for example you could have a stash of different weapons and extra ammo for different situations, a change of clothes (I'd probably go for camo during the day time and dark clothes for night), extra med supplies and food and drink. The way that tents functioned in the mod was game breaking IMO. -

I've always loved first-person only servers but after summer 2012 all the servers were dead. It's great that the first-person servers are so well populated in DayZ retail. Everything is so much more tense when you actually have to stick your head around a corner to see what's lurking there! -

Monday AM was only ever an estimate. On the bright side it's Martin Luther King day, which is a public holiday in the US, so I doubt anyone has to wait too long. -
Fill your stomach at the first water pump you come to and you should be able to loot 2 or 3 towns on your way inland before hunger becomes an issue. More than enough time to pick up a couple of cans of food and a screwdriver, knife or axe to open them... If you're struggling to find supplies then you're spending too much time on the coast.

Bad news would have been "the patch won't be up til the end of the week", I assume this means that the update will be live in ~5 hours which I'll take to be good news. -

Too many. I'm well into double digits on this character. Mostly out of just having survived for a long time and people being idiots/charging at me with their fists up than anything.

The "zombies" are just humans infected with a virus. It makes more sense that they would just wander around where they were before the infection took hold. Think 28 Days Later, not The Walking Dead.

Right-click DayZ in your Steam library, click properties, then the option to enable experimental builds will be under betas. You don't need a code, just select experimental builds.
