Yeah, if you manage to get back in I'd recommend finding a nice bush to spend the night in. xD -

Well, I missed that completely. The startup parameter still works too, just in case anyone was wondering. xD -

6 in the US, 5 in Sweden and there were some 50 slots in Germany too but they've gone down. You can have a black Mosin... -

Impossible to get into an experimental server.
Mos1ey replied to Zjasuu's topic in Server Advertisement
There were more EU servers but they got super laggy and went down. Technical difficulties, I guess. Also, you might have missed this... The servers being super busy was to be expected, really. -
4/10 - Subpar troll.

50/50. A lot of people do just sit behind the top of the stairs and wait for unsuspecting victims. If you're in a server with third-person enabled always, always, always check it before you actually move up the stairs. If not then say a prayer, peek quickly and be ready to run. xD

Probably. I bet some people will get sick of not being able to connect and revert to the stable build. It's hectic right now though... I'm gonna stick a pizza in the oven and if I can't get in after that then I give up for the night. xD -

Rolling Changelog: Stable Branch: 0.32.114557

Yeah, I was on one of the DE servers and it got really funky (couldn't open doors or drink from a water pump) a few minutes before it went down. Technical difficulties, I assume. So that people can choose between a super buggy experimental build or a relatively stable tried and tested build. -

Apologies, I thought you were talking about client-side FPS. Server performance is measured in FPS and ticks in all games, it's not just an RV engine or DayZ thing. :) -
Not quite bud, it's clearly an exploit. "An exploit, in video games, is the use of a bug or glitches, rates, hit boxes, or speed, etc. by a player to their advantage in a manner not intended by the game's designers." This topic is going nowhere and an absolute mess. Locked.

Zombies are handled by the server now. They don't directly affect client-side performance, they take their toll on the server. You made your point but can we try and do it without the name calling please? -

DayZ is a survival sim, not BattlefieldZ. -

Honestly, most of us are finding it far too easy at this point. It has a very steep learning curve and then it's plain sailing once you to grips with it. What are you struggling with? Edit: Actually, after reading your last post I'm afraid to say that it does just sound like this game isn't really for you. It isn't a "casual" game that you can hop on for half an hour and get geared up. It's a survival simulator.- 2582 replies

There are no bugs regarding ladders, stairs, "general interaction between player and enviroment" (whatever that may mean ?), collision detection or rubberbanding through walls in the ArmA games. Hell, the only ones that even seen in DayZ are falling off of ladders (just make sure your hands are empty before climbing a ladder and this won't happen any more) and rubberbanding. And the rubberbanding has only been bad since the last patch, which should tell you already that it's not caused by the engine.

Just think of them as gamers that are so hopeless that their idea of fun is shooting at people that can't shoot back. It's tragic really...
-
I think there will be a bit less Coast of Duty type gameplay once it takes longer than a couple of hours to fully gear up, and no one really expects you to be actively testing game mechanics. When there are over a million testers bugs tend to be found pretty quickly via just playing.
-
Most of these aren't engine related.

Are you using a postage stamp for a mouse pad? I'm playing at 500 DPI with the mouse sensitivity turned down as far as it goes in-game. In all seriousness I would recommend turning that down a bit. -
To be quite honest I'd say when you get the point where it's physically impossible to play the vanilla mod in a server that's more than 10% full while the 1,000 vehicle, 24/7 daylight and self-bloodbag servers are filled to bursting point that it's ruined. Does it expand the community or does it divide it?

Please do tell us how the engine does not work correctly...
