35-50 fps on my system and hardcore lags!?anyone have same issue´s
Mos1ey replied to survivor85's topic in General Discussion
What are your current graphics settings? Also, try this quick config tweak. Go to Documents > DayZ > DayZ.cfg and open it with your favourite text editor, then change the following values... GPU_MaxFramesAhead=1; GPU_DetectedFramesAhead=1; This can help with stuttering. -
35-50 fps on my system and hardcore lags!?anyone have same issue´s
Mos1ey replied to survivor85's topic in General Discussion
35-50 FPS is pretty good for that system TBH. I was having issues with stuttering up until the last patch but it's fixed now. Is this a new issue for you? -
I don't think he's suggesting that all servers inherit this setting. I think it would be a nice idea for some servers though.
-
It's one of those things that just wouldn't work in a game IMO. Example - you spawned about 15 minutes ago, alone and unarmed, you don't have much but don't want to die and suddenly you spot a group of 3 armed players in full military gear coming your way. You manage to make it to the safety of a bush while you wait for them to pass and then your character starts scratching and they spot you because of the movement. In the real world you absolutely would not move a muscle in that situation, regardless of how itchy your nose was. It would be too difficult for the game to differentiate between acceptable and unacceptable times for your character to scratch.

This is what I was thinking when I read the title. Could be a nice idea...
-
Actually a very nice idea. Reminds me of the good old days...
-
Last time it was in excess of 10 topics and the warning at the top of the page was in green so it stood out more. I'm gonna go all out and predict 15+.
-
No chance of the NPCs, sorry. The whole point of DayZ is that everythingis player driven. If you want snipers to guard a town then it's time to make some friends with rifles.
-
Funnily enough it's actually the PvE servers that are against the rules. Admin aren't allowed to enforce those rules as it would allow for people to use PvE servers to gather gear and then PvP on normal servers.

DayZ Standalone: Looking for no PVP server
Mos1ey replied to Silentine's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
Kicking people for player killing is against the server hosting rules and you can have your server taken down without a refund if caught. -
I dont understand why there is no AUTO RUN KEY!!!
Mos1ey replied to Bohannan (DayZ)'s topic in Suggestions
The Steam overlay bug was removed on purpose. The devs clearly don't want people autorunning. Just saying. -
I love the new you are dead screen. There's no messing around. You are dead.
-
Yes, I think the player count will be ramped up dramatically once everything is better optimised (server side).
-
I don't think we'll see above ground base building like in Epoch. I think Rocket is thinking more along the lines of underground stash points/shelters kinda like in The Road. I very highly doubt that Rocket approves of 'locking' things in-game while you're away and on top of that the idea of building a house in an area full of unnocupied towns, villages and even a couple of cities is just downright silly... Not to mention the amount of clutter there would be on the map once we're running 100 player servers.
-
Do you know what model of hard-drive you have? The fact that you say that your brother with a worse PC loads games up faster than you makes me think that your might be rather slow, which can cause massive problems in games like ArmA and DayZ.
-
Creating a map on ArmA scale is a massive undertaking as it is. Chernarus took 5 years to build IIRC. Regardless of whether or not it's possible I can't say I blame anyone for not having tried.

Using an Exploit to Stop Deaths From Falling Bugs.
Mos1ey replied to aggathor's topic in General Discussion
As Byrgesen said instructions on how to exploit the game are not allowed. The prefered COA would be for you to submit a bug report. Locked @ OP's request. -
Rocket was asked about it in an interview ages ago and the only limitation that he mentioned was the map. If it wasn't possible in RV I think he would have just said that. It's a shame really, it's a nice idea and Rocket seemed to like the thought too...
-
It's not possible without making the map again from scratch.

Actively seeking PvP encounters against poorly equipped players? Enjoy your rotten kiwis in Elektro.
-
Doesn't really make sense though. If I was wondering around murdering people I don't think I'd write about it in a little book and carry around with me wherever I went. That sounds like a very, very bad idea to me.
-
Players are part of the environment. It wouldn't be DayZ if friendly fire was turned off.
-
You won't fall off of ladders if you make sure you have nothing in your hands first.

How do you do the "pointing to" emotion?
Mos1ey replied to DayzForumer's topic in New Player Discussion
Pretty sure it's F6 and F5 is clapping. Yeah, it's only in the current experimental build which is set to be pushed to stable within the next couple of days.
