Chernarus Life was the original version in ArmA II. I think a standalone version of the Life mod is a nice idea but it might be too hard to enforce the roleplaying and other rules like no RDM in a standalone game setting.

I loved the mod but I can't go back now... I love the lootable clothing and new enterable buildings way too much! -
I chose the AK47 because it's one of my favourite weapons but the AK74 is already fully textured up and more or less ready to go so I think it's obvious which will come first...

Yeah, the zombies are getting dangerous. I was balancing eating my dinner and playing last night, stopped in a tree for a bite and got mauled by 2 zombies that came literally out of nowhere. They seem to be spawning much further outside of towns now.

When I say decent PC, what I really mean is above the recommended specs, if you want to actually see a noticeable FPS gain. What is it that makes the Life missions run so poorly? I get 60+ FPS on ultra in A3 Wasteland and then I have to drop object detail right down to low to maintain 30+ in Altis Life. :( It's a shame because it's so much fun... xD -

Yeah, the improved server performance does generally mean that you will see better performance client side too, providing that you have a decent PC. I think dgeesio misinterpreted Rocket's post thinking that he meant that clients will get an extra 5-10 FPS though. It runs great anyways. I've turned ambient occlusion on and I'm running with about 5 FPS more than I used to, so no complaints from me! -

It was 20 fps server side IIRC, I think you misread the patch notes. -

Yeah, they've cleaned things up server side so the people with decent rigs that were being held back by server performance are running a bit better now. :) -
To be fair the in-game map is also in English.

You'll learn which places are which very quickly. They're actually quite obvious if you think about it, e.g. the one that looks like 3nektopobaek is Elektro, Bepe3nho is Berezino etc. etc. I do think there should be both English and Cyrillic maps in the game though.

Because it's nonsense. Post a screenshot with proof or stop trolling. Now, back on topic. If anyone would like to impart their advice with regards to combatting stuttering on the OP then feel free. Otherwise, move along people. -
If you're on a reg server then you're just putting yourself at a disadvantage by not using third-person view. It's more or less essential because everyone else is doing it. Hardcore FTW!

Really? Post-process and ambient occlusion cost about 10 FPS each for me. How odd... :S Don't feed the troll. -
I take it you've had a chance to use it then? What's the damage and recoil like compared to the Mosin? How quickly can you make follow up shots? We need the juicy details!

You won't be able to edit data a-la Borderlands, it's just a case of getting the DayZ hive to recognise you and give you your char. Not sure how though...

Haven't had a chance to try out the SKS yet (didn't play the exp. build much) but I'm really looking forward to it. I would imagine that it slots nicely between the Mosin and the M4.

Steam will update the game automatically as long as you aren't currently playing a game.

If you have a large external disk you could try moving your DayZ folder from the original PC to the other. I know your character data for the main menu is stored locally, maybe that's needed to kickstart the process or something.

Hit the nail on the head. It's mainly so that you can easily tell if yourself or others are wounded. I think bloody clothing models a-la ArmA 3 would seem a bit more polished though. Hopefully they'll change over to something like that later in development.
