I voted for everything regardless of how plausable because I simply want as much character customisation as possible. Whether only a few preset faces per gender and race or going full Skyrim I just need moar.

Sounds like you've been playing on too many 1,000+ vehicle DayZ mod servers. I hope your gang don't mind sharing a bike. :D

I dont understand why there is no AUTO RUN KEY!!!
Mos1ey replied to Bohannan (DayZ)'s topic in Suggestions
You're missing the point. You should not be making an hour long sprint across the map. I think what we need is a stamina system that flat out prevents you from doing so, not an auto-run key... -
Oh, you mean like these?
-
Yeah, pretty sure broken arms are "a thing" now. Not sure what the symptoms are though.
-
In the mod server that I used to play in the rule was always that you had to stay in the server for 10 minutes after any kind of conflict, which you did.
-
It's a small price to pay IMO...
-
Yeah, you could drag bodies in the mod. I think it will probably be added later.
-
Yeah, you'll have no problems. This is pretty much spot on "recommended specs", you'll run med-high settings with decent frame rates. I'm not sure why you'd even buy a game that's clearly labelled as an early access alpha build if you're looking for an optimised final product. :S Yeah, it'll run alright on there. Could be a little choppy in cities but you should get steady frames on at least med settings for the most part.

Your PC isn't quite up to scratch. Skyrim, Dota and CS:GO are not in any way demanding games. I can run them fine on my low spec laptop that I don't use for gaming. http://www.videocardbenchmark.net/gpu.php?gpu=GeForce+GTX+260 To put things in perspective I'd recommend a decent i5 CPU and something like a GTX 660Ti or better if you wanted to get the most out of DayZ.

Is Sniper too powerfull ? how did the mod handle this?
Mos1ey replied to Foolz's topic in New Player Discussion
The Mosin is nothing, for the first 18 months the mod had .50cal rifles that were a 1 hit kill to the foot at 1000m and could take down a heli with a few hits. They were removed due to not being in keeping with the theme of the game though, so I don't think we'll see them again. The Mosin however fits the theme of DayZ perfectly and no, I don't believe that it is 'too powerful' if such a thing exists in a game designed to be as brutal and unforgiving as DayZ. :) Balance is not something that really applies to DayZ but I do think that sniping will be somewhat offset later in development when more weapons are added and a rifle capable of taking people out at such ranges becomes more difficult to find. -
As above - get off the coast. You'll start to find everything in abundance once you get a few miles inland where everything hasn't been looted already. :)

"I don’t want to get people’s hopes up about a skill system or skill tree" Sounds promising. :D Also, how old is that quote? He's talking about humanity etc...
-
"Clipping. CLIPPING! We have enough problems with clipping as it is :) EDIT: Don't get me wrong, I'm obsessed with hoodies i.r.l. So I'd love them as much as the next guy." I would not expect anything with a hood any time soon. xD

^This. Pretty much negates the need for proper communication, which is not what DayZ is about.
-
...But Rocket is not. He's excplicitly stated on mutliple occasions that he does not want a skill-type system in DayZ. In DayZ your gear and items are your 'level' and you 'grind' by looting.
-
The spewing blood is 1) a placeholder and 2) so that you are in no doubt that your character is bleeding. The game isn't actually suggesting that that amount of blood is leaving your character's body. DayZ is supposed to be a survival sim, I don't think supporting realism/authenticity is nit picky in all honesty.
-
How much blood do you thinking someone loses when they get shot or otherwise wounded? Aside from a bit of splatter wherever the incident took place there would likely not be much blood on the ground, expecially if the wound was bandaged.
-
Suddenly that three slot bubble goose starts to look more appealing. xD
-
I think it will play a big part once illness is implemented and keeping yourself warm is important so it's more than likely gonna be sticking around.
-
Alright folks, questions have been answered and now things are getting a bit hostile. Locked.
-
Plus if they spent all that money on a server debugging program then how would Rocket pay for his hot pink Lambo... Jeez... Gotta go fast!
-
Yeah, I was thinking that too. If you look carefully it's just a weird angle though. It looks like one of the barrels is under the other in the image.
-
I think (or rather hope) that in the time that would take to develop the server hosts will have resolved the problem. The sad thing is that a lot of these servers are fine, it's just best to avoid them as they're the ones that do tend to cause problems.
-
Indeed, the devs can't do anything to prevent this unfortunately. It's a problem with the server hosting companies. What you can do is help spread the word that people should avoid dodgy looking servers though. :)
