Quake was also keyboard only, there is a mousefix available so you can play with a mouse though. :) -
Well these things will inadvertently give you objects. Maybe you need some warmer clothes, or you're sick and you need to find a specific kind of medication. On top of that we'll have more 'powerful', rarer items that it will be a lot more difficult to find so you'll still be looking for those.

People would just suicide over and over to get a 'better' spawn and creating that many new characters takes it's toll on server performance. The option to respawn while you're legs are broken wouldn't be a bad idea though.

Probably not many. There's no time for typing in a heated situation. If you don't have a microphone I'd recommend 1) getting one and 2) avoiding other players like the plague unless you plan on shooting them.

It works 100% of the time for me. Some people do have issues with it and I'm not sure why though. :S

As above - there is no global chat. If you type in direct chat only people within about 50-100m of you can read it.

Hmm? I'm pretty sure he was talking about Kboost in EVGA Precision X (or whatever the Gigabyte etc. versions are) that essentially tells your graphics card to run at 100% power the entire time. It shouldn't affect AA or LOD. :S -
Once weather and illness are an issue late game survival will be more difficult and it won't be so boring. :)

Rarer than cars with 40 per server? There probably won't be 40 total vehicles per server...

I think a zombie that could only take damage to the head would be like a police body armour zombie or something, nothing crazy. There are no plans for L4D style 'special infected' AFAIK.

The game feels a bit 'smoother' overall, you get less texture pop ins (houses etc. suddenly becoming more/less detailed when you're close to them) and less stutters when running from an SSD but it does not directly increase your frame rate. If anyone owns an SSD and plays ArmA 2, ArmA 3 and/or DayZ I would definitely recommend moving those games over to it. -
It's an airborne virus which the survivors are immune to, hence not being infected already. It's pretty much the only 'feasible' pandemic scenario.

I've seen this too many times also. People blowing things out of proportion, that is. I really don't think it's the big deal that people are making it out to be. DayZ was Rocket's creation and it's sad that he's leaving, but assuming we keep on track we'll be a month (at the very least) into beta by the time he leaves and the game will be more or less feature complete and only need bugfixing and a bit of tweaking here and there. We still have a great team that will continuing to support the game and I don't think there's much to worry about. Good luck to Dean with setting up his own studio, looking forward to see what he comes up with.

Have you tried changing your download region (Settings > Downloads > Download Region), to determine if it's a problem with the Steam server that you're attempting to download from, and downloading a different game, to determine if you're only having this issue with DayZ?

You know Rocket isn't the only developer, right? The rest of the team will continue to develop and support DayZ through beta and into and beyond the final release.

This, pretty much. The best servers for me are the UK and German ones which offer around 130 ping, these are fine for me. The rest of Europe offers around 150 ping which is playable but I really wouldn't like to go any higher than that.

Because "friendly" isn't a magic spell. Just because you're friendly doesn't mean the other guy is... To be killed on sight you have to be seen. Try changing the way you play, not other people. It's a lot easier.

Why is it silly? Playing on an empty server allows you to gear up freely without any kind of risk whatsoever. DayZ was never intended to be a singleplayer game, there are supposed to be a lot of people in a server.

That's not how it's supposed to be, that's how it is. The game doesn't use a mouse sensitivity as such, it uses a turn speed. It's a good system but it needs a lot of tweaking and fixing. -
Player count does not dictate your play style. If you enjoy the survival aspect of the game then just stay out of the big cities and military hotspots as that's where other players go.
