There was a humanity (karma) system in the mod, removing it in DayZ SA was a conscious decision made by the developers for a plethora of reasons.
-
Unfortunately this kind of thing comes with the territory of early access. Things will be broken, fixed, added and removed constantly and that's perfectly normal. The infected have not been removed permanently, just from the current build.
-
This was discussed in fair depth here when the topic first came up regarding Arma 3. I'm not sure how feasible the devs consider it to be, but I do believe that they're aware of the idea.

Is one of you running a local server or are you both trying to connect to server via the internet?

You can get your point across without being rude...

How to keep healthy in Dayz Mod Vanilla?
Mos1ey replied to No Interleaving's topic in DayZ Mod Troubleshooting
Sitting at a campfire, heatpacks or staying indoors will help you stay warm. You also have to boil water or cook meat before you consume them to avoid infection. No, humanity is persistent. It will not reset when you log out. Obviously you can still move around but when it's raining at night time you will have to stop by a campfire often.- 1 reply

TIL that DayZ runs much smoother on Windows 10.
Mos1ey replied to Grimey Rick's topic in General Discussion
If you disable the creepy stuff in privacy settings then Microsoft aren't actually collecting any more data than Apple and Google do already. I don't doubt that there will be "fixes" for the amount of data that is forwarded to Microsoft further down the line either... -
I'll take the smallest hitbox you have, please.

I wouldn't recommend buying prebuilt to anyone. It's very, very easy to assemble your own rig, even more so if you have someone to help you select the best components for your budget. Consoles are good for the casual "plug in and play" crowd, but honestly I think if you're looking for something more fulfilling than a couple games of Fifa then PC is definitely the way to go.
-
What are your current specs? I can't really speculate on potential performance unless I actually know what hardware you're running on right now.
-
I really couldn't recommend buying DayZ with the intention of running it on that system. Sorry! I think the game will just about run on that machine, but performance would be very poor. Again, I couldn't recomment it. Sorry!

^ This. ShadowPlay is by far the best recording software currently available. I only lose about 5 FPS when recording 1080p/60 FPS with the highest available bitrate.

Are you in Europe, North America, Aus... ? You can find a selection of vanilla DayZ mod servers here, anyways... http://forums.dayzgame.com/index.php?/topic/223589-dayzmod-vanilla-servers/

Take a break and come back later. DayZ will still be here when you come back. Maybe it will have a couple of new things to show you and you'll enjoy it like you used to again. There are so many good games out there. No one should only play one!

Coming back to the mod after over a year, what should i do?
Mos1ey replied to drjuanitor's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
Vanilla is still the best IMO. It's changed it a little bit over the past year though, PvE survival is considerably more challenging now.- 1 reply

Why is the amount I can look up limited?
Mos1ey replied to WilliamTheConqueror's topic in General Discussion
Well in real life you have a (roughly) 180 degree horizontal field of view, which obviously can't be represented accurately on a standard 16:9 monitor so naturally you'd expect some difference in vertical FOV too. -
Ahhh, I was gonna suggest Europa but yeah, if you're from Aus then you'd be looking at >300ms ping. It might be wise to take Fern's advice and approach the owner of US 434 about your ban.
-
Yes, you can run the game fine. It likely won't perform as well as you'd hope with those specs, but this will improve later in development when the game is better optimised. I would recommend installing DayZ to your SSD and overclocking your CPU (if possible) for best performance.
-
Not sure if the same applies to Xbox One, but I know developers had to pay pretty extortionate fees to push updates on the 360. Assuming that's still the same then the patches for the Xbox One will probably be merged and released and greater intervals compared to the PC version.

DAYZ EUROPA - The world's finest vanilla DayZ Mod server
Mos1ey replied to vinyljunkie's topic in Mod Servers & Private Hives
In the tallest apartment building right next to the supermarket? I went in with the intention of heading up to the roof to watch the tents while my friend looted and there was a a guy sitting at the top of the stairs looking down. Bang. One shot - you are dead. Oh well, back to the coast. -
Protip 2: Don't try this when playing lone wolf.

Someone shot me in the face. :( -
I think it will probably just about run the game but I couldn't recommend buying DayZ with the intention of running it on that system. It will not perform well at all.
-
Of course if you have the budget for a high end system then go for it, but a well balanced desktop machine in the same price range as one of the "next-gen" consoles will outperform them.
