    Parkour in DayZ

    Aside from the fact that it would be almost impossible to implement - have you ever tried parkour fully laden with a rifle and hiking backpack full of tinned food and ammo?
  2. There will never be safe zones or NPCs in DayZ. The essence of the game is that it's a 100% player driven experience. If you want to set up a trading area then set one up with your friends and have people guard it.

    30 is definitely playable, but I find that 40 FPS is the point where the game will start to feel really smooth.

    You cannot disable sun glare. That would give you a massive and unfair advantage over people who had not disabled it. Sun glasses are aesthetic only and functioning correctly.

    Because they're completely different games and as such perform differently. Show me a 230km2 BF map.

    Well I still run Arma 3 a fair bit more smoothly, but that's a finished product. IMO performance in DayZ is more than acceptable for this current stage in development, but performance similar to that of Arma 3 should be what the team are aiming for in the long run. My specs are probably listed earlier in the topic... CPU: i5 3570k @ 4.5Ghz RAM: 8Gb Kingston HyperX @ 1600Mhz GPU: EVGA GTX 780 Mobo: ASUS P8Z77-v Pro And the game is running from an SSD.

    The only thing I don't have on very high is post-process, which is usually set to disabled, very low or low and I'm above 60 FPS most of the time. Obviously that drops down to 40 in the cities, but that can't really be helped. Seems like the game is running a lot better these DayZ. :D

    This just wouldn't work. A scope is designed to be held a few inches away from the eye and it would be almost impossible to hold it steady enough for it to function as a monocular as such.

    It's a bug. You're supposed to still be able to swing an axe from the idle position.

    Epi-pen = epinephrine = adrenaline It's already in the game.
  16. Carrying 2 rifles is not an intended feature. You're already at max capacity when you take a second weapon into your hands so you have nowhere to put it should you try and switch. Carrying a second weapon is great if you find an M4 but don't have ammo for it or something, but it shouldn't be considered a long term solution.

    I'd play a game that locked you out for a few hours if you died, but not this. Personally I feel this would be taking things too far.

    Why is hardcore so underpopulated?

    For me it's the one that lines the bar up with the "f" in "Field of view". Sometimes I switch it up 1 click either way, but for the most part that's what I feel gives me the best balance between periphery and clarity over distance. :)

    I prefer to play in as close to full servers as possible. I rarely see anyone up north in 40 or 50 player servers as it is. It's the fact that they aren't restarted often enough that's the problem for me, not the playercount.

    I rarely play experimental for that very reason. I switch to experimental to check out the new features when a patch goes live, then it's back to stable for me. When loot is respawning I'll probably stay opted into the experimental build the whole time, but for now it's just not worth it IMO.

    1. Join 39/40 server. 2. Head at least 2 towns inland. 3. ????? 4. Profit I only play on populated servers and it's very rare that I'll have problems, unless of course you count the experimental servers which it seems like are forgotten about sometimes and don't restart for far too long.

    Read the OP and this was pretty much exactly what I was gonna say. The FX-6300 and GTX 750Ti are about the same price and much better components. The GTX 750Ti is more powerful than the 660, never mind the 650!     The CPU is alright but you'll be throttled by the GT 620. That's a very, very low spec card. You'd just about run the game but you'd be struggling with fairly low FPS on low settings. DayZ standalone is a standalone game, i.e. it is not a mod and does not require any other games to play.
