Alrighty, sure.

If I remember correctly GTX 760 build had a slightly worse CPU in it so I'd say that's $20 well spent. If you can't afford it then the GTX 650Ti machine will run DayZ and other games fine, but I would look at upgrading in the near future. The x50 cards tend to be a bit weak, the GTX 750Ti being a rare exception.
-
Considerably worse. The CPU is a bit weaker and the GTX 650Ti is nowhere near the GTX 750Ti in terms of it's improvement over the original version. It will still be playable but if you can afford it I would 100% definitely recommend the i5 4670 and GTX 660 combo.

That's a pretty good and well balanced system. You won't drop below 30 FPS in cities on mostly high settings. You'll want to disable post-process effects (DoF and rotation blur, it doesn't even look good anyway...) and drop anti-aliasing and maybe object detail down a bit though.

How to Increase frames in DayZ with a Mid/Low end PC (in game specs)
Mos1ey replied to Tactical Soldier Gaming's topic in General Discussion
Texture detail is handled by your CPU when set to anything under high, when you set it to high or very high the load is shifted to your graphics card. It's pretty standard in RV engine games. -
This is something that the devs are considering. Currently having to find each other should be considered part of the game though, it's still undecided as to whether group spawning is something that they want to add.

Is anyone tired of this game because of KOS?
Mos1ey replied to gotr1ght's topic in General Discussion
Use the "Official KoS Discussion" topic please... http://forums.dayzgame.com/index.php?/topic/154460-so-kos-official-sa-kos-discussion-topic/page-51 Locked. -
There is a big KoS topic that they're supposed to be merged into, I suppose that might be worth pinning so people see it. http://forums.dayzgame.com/index.php?/topic/154460-so-kos-official-sa-kos-discussion-topic/page-51 Edit: I went ahead and pinned it. Hopefully people will see that before posting, but we'll see...

Where are the updates? **crickets chirping**
Mos1ey replied to Spinnyd223's topic in General Discussion
What do you mean "whatever"? Your argument was that Dean was essentially doing a runner with the money and I'm telling you that he doesn't have the money. We aren't really "working", we just shuffle posts around and make sure things stay friendly on here. Similarly to server owners and community modders (well, most of them anyway...) - we don't do it for profit, we do it because we like the community and want to do our bit to help out. -
Have you tried disabling hyperthreading and unparking your cores? You can use this program to unpark your cores... http://www.coderbag.com/Programming-C/Disable-CPU-Core-Parking-Utility I wouldn't be too surprised if you were getting those frame rates in cities, but you should be a bit higher on the rest of the map.
-
I think this would be taking things a touch too far, but I would like some more mild gore.
-
There might be a console port way down the road. I think it would have to be heavily dumbed down a la Minecraft for console though.
-
can we have a more "savaged" environment (like higher grass, bushes, vegetation in general) and more chaos in the cities?
Mos1ey replied to daisho's topic in Suggestions
I think this is something that will be done over time. The map is a work in progress and there's still a huge amount to do. The areas that have already been reworked (like Zelenegorsk) look great IMO, the other towns could do with looking a bit more run down though. I agree. -
Very strange. Glad you managed to get that fixed yourself relatively quickly anyways... :)

Pending Changelog: Experimental Branch: 0.42.116002
Mos1ey replied to rocket's topic in News & Announcements
No, not really. With DayZ the devs have direct access to the engine. They can change whatever they want or need to. Breaking Point is obviously stuck within the boundaries of being a mod. Don't get me wrong, it's a good mod. I played it with a friend a few times and we thoroughly enjoyed it, but it is just that - a mod, and mods have limitations. -

It's mostly just Arma 3 content and a few custom weapons though. If you can't see the potential of the core changes that have already been made to DayZ (client/server architecture, physics, item degradation, etc.) as well as that of those which are planned then I don't really know what to tell you... Believe what you want, I guess... -

Mos1ey replied to Spinnyd223's topic in General Discussion
Actually, no he didn't. Bohemia own DayZ, not Dean. He hasn't made a fraction of what you seem to think he has and on a side note, none of the forum moderators are paid either. -

I played Breaking Point... I got killed by a pile of luggage that was flying around inside a room. :( -
It's not too bad but the 4440 is only clocked to 3.1Ghz as stock and locked/not overclockable, which would put me off it straight away. Something like the 3570k or 4670k will hit 4.4Ghz with even a cheap aftermarket cooler easily, even higher if you get lucky and get a really good chip. It's a damn sight better than the original build you linked too and will run DayZ at an enjoyable level though, anyway. If you have any more questions please use the "Can I Run Day?", which you can find here... http://forums.dayzgame.com/index.php?/topic/154395-can-i-run-dayz-retail-post-here/ Thanks. Locked.

This was a long time ago now but I know that one of the main reasons that Rocket decided to use the Take on Helicopters engine for DayZ was the advanced heli flight mechanics. It just doesn't seem logical to me that he would change his mind and not want to add them any more.
-
Pristine weapons in-game are highly unlikely to be brand new. You're finding them in barracks and whatnot in an apocalypse scenario, they've more than likely already been broken in...
-
Did you also delete the DayZ folders in Documents and AppData > Local when you were reinstalling?
-
If you're playing on "hardcore" servers then 3rd person view is disabled.

[DayZ Sound Replacement Video] Why Have you not hired this guy!?!?!
Mos1ey replied to GriefSlicer (DayZ)'s topic in General Discussion
Well, yeah. The legal issues would be the main issue there. Also with regards to the team hiring him, it's all good and well cut and pasting sounds over a video but actually implementing them into a game is a whole different kettle of fish.
