The other topics cater more to typical non-lethal weapons whereas this one is more about the ability to torture. I'll leave it up to the OP to decide if he would like this topic to be closed. :)

Operation Sanctuary safe zone, Regulators, CQF. TMW and other friendlies
Mos1ey replied to thelonewarrior's topic in Gallery
It's always nice to see people organising stuff like this, even if it doesn't always go to plan. The game has so much more to offer than just deathmatching, but the vast majority just don't utilise it... -
Do Zombies Dream Of A Good Nights Sleep? (Zombie feedback)
Mos1ey replied to SmashT's topic in General Discussion
Yeah, I've noticed this too. My only criticism is that they seem to hit you while facing >90° away from you. Other than that things are looking much improved zombie-wise. They're using stairs properly now so we're making some progress with regards to pathfinding. Hopefully their using doors properly will follow soon. -
Carrying two primary Weapons without having one everytime in the hands
Mos1ey replied to Colle's topic in General Discussion
That's about 20 slots if you've got decent gear. More than enough room for a couple of tins of food, a canteen, some rags and ammo. Especially when you consider that once persistent storage is added you'll be able to leave things at base and travel lighter. You can't have it all!- 50 replies

Carrying two primary Weapons without having one everytime in the hands
Mos1ey replied to Colle's topic in General Discussion
I believe some kind of weapon bag that may replace a backpack is being considered by the devs. It's not confirmed either way as of yet though. -
The list of complaints in the OP are things that most people view as improvements over the mod... This is what DayZ "should have been", this is the way that Dean always intended it to be. The mod was turned into something much more casual and forgiving through modding and private hive servers with custom scripts.
-
You can already do this in the mod... Servers restarting aren't a problem and neither are players if you hide your stash point by a pine tree in a remote area.

Is this suggestion for DayZ retail or DayZ mod?

Zombies hitting and ruining your gear in one hit
Mos1ey replied to DANHEX's topic in General Discussion
I think it should (and probably will later in development) depend upon the clothing in question. For example if you were grabbing and clawing at someone in an aggressive zombie like manner I think you would have a good chance of ruining/ripping a t-shirt or cotton shirt. Military gear would obviously be way more resilient though. -
And a topic offers more depth. Use the designated topic please.

Can you tell the direction which fire is coming from?
Mos1ey replied to Sebidee's topic in General Discussion
This, pretty much. I can pinpoint where they're coming from as long as they aren't silent. Can't wait til that's fixed... -
Did you try using the action (scroll wheel) menu while it was in your hands?
-
Did you try putting it in your hand and using the action menu? (I haven't actually done it but that seems logical to me).

This has always been the default setting for me... If it isn't you might as well change it in global, not just for DayZ.exe anyway. It might also be worth going into control panel and checking that you don't have anything similar enabled under "power options" as some of those can throttle CPU power pretty badly.

We already have one of these pinned in the Announcements & Information sub-forum... http://forums.dayzgame.com/index.php?/topic/160826-image-tags-how-to/

If you make sure there's nothing in your hands you won't fall off of ladders.

Well I was taking a quick look to see if I could find out what socket the 3537U uses and it turns out it's a $350 dual-core 2Ghz CPU... You can buy my CPU, which is a top of the range i5 that comes clocked at 3.4Ghz (I'm running it at 4.5Ghz) for about $200. Honestly, I think you'd be better off just building a desktop machine and cutting your losses with the laptop.
-
Ah, I was just skim reading as I was replying to a lot of posts and missed the part where you said it was a laptop. That definitely makes things more tricky... First of you'll have to make sure that the CPU that you plan on upgrading to is the same socket type and secondly that your motherboard's BIOS supports it. As for the graphics chip, I'm not sure you will be able to upgrade it. The laptop wasn't designed to have a graphics card, so there may not be a way to install one. You'll have to do a bit of Google-ing with your exact model number. Failing that it might be easier (and cost about the same amount...) to just build a desktop machine. Good luck!
-
Hmm... I had a friend that used to play on an Athlon 270 and the mod was always playable for him. They don't make the i5 3230 for desktop machines, if he has an i5 it's more than likely a quad-core CPU, while yours is a dual. You won't get 50 FPS in cities regardless of settings on that system. You should maintain 50+ (for the most part) everywhere else on med-high though. Both the CPU and graphics could do with an update.
-
You can just about run the game, yeah. Performance won't be great, but it will be playable.
-
I got stuck on "Wait for host" and few times and a generic "Please wait" type message once and had to change servers a bunch of times. I managed to get on without doing anything other than switch servers in the end though.
-
I strongle agree with orlok, I would avoid using external maps. I hear Поляна is lovely this time of year though. ;)
-
It will run but I think don't think you would be happy with the level of performance. I would not recommend buying the game with the intention of running it on that machine, sorry! It might get a little bit hairy in cities but you should maintain a minimum of 30 FPS everywhere else, up to 60 in open areas.

There are a number of tweaks you can try in the pinned topic that Nuggit referred you to. :)
