No such thing as friendly at the NW airfield, maybe. :P I generally try not to kill people but that's kill or be killed territory.

Experimental Server - Tonight 9pm PST - Come find me, or my bullets.
Mos1ey replied to Irish.'s topic in General Discussion
I just had a look and personally I'd have to say that the post that you were issued a warning for was much more direct and abusive. -
This. I can't wait for flares to be added.

Yes. I didn't deem it to be worthy of a warning point but this (below) is not acceptable posting. Thanks. -

Keep it civil please. -
DayZ is supposed to be a 100% player driven experience. "Singleplayer DayZ" is pretty much a paradox. It isn't DayZ without other players.

Looking back, Do you think that EA release was a good idea?
Mos1ey replied to c00lface's topic in General Discussion
lipemr, can we try to make our point without being abusive please. -
How to pack 600 rounds of 5.56 in a 300 round ammo can
Mos1ey replied to DVNelson's topic in New Player Discussion
I think that you will eventually have to reload the 2x30 mags, albeit with a faster animation. -
Ah, well lucky you then. xD If you were to upgrade it I would go with some extra RAM as was already suggested. The CPU and graphics card are both quite old so if you upgrade one the other won't be able to keep up anyway. You're right in thinking that it would be best to just wait until a time when you do have the cash to just build a whole new machine.
-
That's actually not a bad idea at all. In fact, I'd quite like a lot of things (run speed and so on) to be tied to your hunger and thirst levels.
-
I'm not so sure. Realistically if you would have time to prepare to defend yourself then you should have time to react in-game, whether that constitutes shooting or turning and running isn't really important, but you do have time to act. Either way, I'm not really bothered if punching is "nerfed" or left as is. While I think it's "authentic" that you can punch someone out relatively easily, the fact that taking on a well armed survivor with their bare hands seems like a reasonable thing to do to a lot of players is not so "authentic".
-
I can't say I've ever found anything of value on a beach in real life. Most things that would be worth carrying sink in water.
-
Honestly, if you're holding an M4 and someone manages to punch you then you are officially doing it wrong. IMO it should take more than a couple of punches to kill someone but you should be able to knock someone down/out with 1-2 well placed punches.

That link is your best shot at improving performance. That being said you are literally sitting on the min specs, which are pretty much the specs that you need to be able to run the game without getting an error message and crashing. In future I wouldn't recommend purchasing a game unless you are above the recommended specs.

For something like DayZ to be plausible it would need to be an airborne virus, or it would be contained before it got out of hand. The survivors are immune, hence not being infected already.

New 1:1 Mouse Controls are not good for the game
Mos1ey replied to tatchell (DayZ)'s topic in General Discussion
I'm not really that bothered by the 1:1 mouse input, I do think turning while prone needs to be tweaked though. I also think that the minimum sensitivity on the in-game slider needs to be made lower in light of in input changes. I'm playing with 500 DPI and the slider all the way down and it's two or three times the sensitivity that I'd actually like to play with. -
I was playing with two friends and they both connected with no problems though, it was just me. :(
-
I can't get into the 100 player servers for some reason. I get stuck on "Wait For Host" and then kicked by BattlEye every time. :( No problems at all on the 50 slot servers though, very strange...
-
Yes, they did. Merged.

What do you consider "optimized" performance?
Mos1ey replied to Grimey Rick's topic in General Discussion
Because the game is not well optimised. I'm not trying to claim that it is. The main problem for you is your i7 CPU. Currently DayZ does pretty much hammers one core to 100% and the others will hover at about 10% load. Try disabling hyperthreading, that should help. -
What do you consider "optimized" performance?
Mos1ey replied to Grimey Rick's topic in General Discussion
This topic is incredibly flawed. It depends entirely on your system... I mean you can't say Crysis 3 doesn't run with 60 FPS on an iPhone therefore it is poorly optimised and due to the massive open world nature of DayZ it's never going to run with 60 FPS on your "average" system. -
I get turned into a fresh spawn any time the game freezes
Mos1ey replied to powderdtoastman's topic in Troubleshooting
If you're reporting a bug then use the feedback page... http://forums.dayzgame.com/index.php?/forum/83-bug-reports/ The devs don't have time to read everything on the forums. -
What clothing set/weapons would you add if you could?
Mos1ey replied to SomeCallMeNomad (DayZ)'s topic in General Discussion
1) Can we argue our points without being abusive please. 2) Games aren't advancing graphically right now because the "next-gen" consoles struggle to run games at 30 FPS in 1280x720 as it is, they simply couldn't run anything with greater graphical fidelity. It's not because the developers have decided that games look pretty good now and are content with leaving it at that. -
2 licenses - one PC - yet shared settings?
Mos1ey replied to monolith1985's topic in Troubleshooting
Are you playing the on the same Windows user account? If so the Documents > DayZ > DayZ.cfg will be shared, so that would make sense. -
The CPU is definitely not powerful enough to run DayZ. Sorry mate!
