I'd also like to be able to see which server I'm in while I'm playing. I like sticking to one server for the duration of a play session and if it restarts it can be difficult to find it again.

How To Reveal invisible items - DayZ Standalone
Mos1ey replied to TheModernGamer94's topic in New Player Discussion
That sounds like a server issue. Are you unable to pick up items or open doors at the same time? -
waiting for cooking AKA zeds are actually too strong..

Moved to DayZ Gallery. Please use the correct sub-forum in future. -
Did you right-click with nothing in your hands? You won't be able to run until you right-click again.
-
You are fully geared, would you shoot these people?
Mos1ey replied to leefriendfield's topic in General Discussion
1) I would watch him until he left the area. If he was walking around with his weapon raised, generally looking like he wanted a fight I would shoot him, otherwise I would let him pass. 2) I would watch them for a little while, maybe approach them, if not then just leave them be. 3) Kill with extreme prejudice. :P -
To be fair it would allow you to sort servers by ping while only viewing either regular or hardcore servers. It's something to think about, but not exactly priority #1.
-
Depends on the situation really.
-
I find the trick is spotting the other guy before he spots you. :)
-
Nah, you just have to be sneaky. ;) Of course I ask that people don't have their weapon in their hands while we're talking then I'll generally lie about where we're headed to and follow them without their knowing to be sure that they're actually leaving.
-
Not if you don't try to rob or disarm them. ;) I usually just say "hello", we swap some items if anyone needs anything, and then we go our separate ways. If you can control a situation without being condescending you'd be surprised how many people are willing to co-operate.
-
That doesn't mean you have to kill everyone. If you can properly control a situation then you should easily be able to survive without killing everyone. Of course some people pretty much force your hand, but the vast majority can be spared.

After playing around with your settings, sure. Personally I would go with an i5, which would perform a bit better, over that FX-8350 and 2x4Gb RAM instead of the 1x8Gb, but it's a vast improvement over your current system.
-
I was of the impression that the current weapon sounds were placeholders and would be replaced in due time.

To the gentleman I shot at the airfield today...(An Apology)
Mos1ey replied to Aubinator's topic in General Discussion
Based on two-million DayZ players and the ~ten people that have posted - about one in two-hundred-thousand. -
I would have thought that they'd spawn pretty much randomly as they did in the mod. I'm not sure though, we'll have to wait and see.
-
No, you cannot run DayZ on that system. Sorry! No, more like low-medium settings. Yeah, it will just about run but performance may be a bit iffy and require some tweaking to get everything running smoothly. It will run the game but it would be a bit of a struggle. I would expect some tweaking to be required and gameplay would still be choppy in cities. No, sorry! Yeah, pretty much. It's an intensive game and most laptops are not cut out for gaming. The tweaks detailed in this topic may help you gain a few FPS here and there... http://forums.dayzgame.com/index.php?/topic/154330-possible-fps-enhancer/ ...But I wouldn't expect any miracles. Yeah, it'll run the game on low-med settings. Can't really comment on FPS as I don't know anyone that runs the game on a Pentium.

Why is development time being poured into more new towns?
Mos1ey replied to uberfrag's topic in General Discussion
Yes. -
I highly doubt that you will be able to claim a refund due to the warnings that are slapped all over the Steam page and game itself. If DayZ was being marketed as a finished game then I think you would have more luck, but it's made very clear before you buy the game that it's still in the early stages of development. You're more than welcome to try though.

Only if we can have rail guns and LGs too then. -

Chernarus is a gloomy, rural post-soviet state. It isn't the kind of place where you're likely to have found theme parks or anything like that, it would mostly be villages and small towns. -
Have you been following the devblog? http://dayzdev.tumblr.com/ Fireplaces are supposed to be coming some time this week BTW.
-
Yup. Probably not completely maxed out, but not far off. Run DayZ from the SSD for best effects. That machine would run the game, but it would perform very poorly. I would not recommend buying the game with the intention of running it on that system, sorry! Maybe. If you can still afford DayZ after buying it, anyway.

Post what sounds you feel need to be added to the game
Mos1ey replied to helcol's topic in General Discussion
Doors and gates opening are the big one for me.
