The mod was great but the fact that it's so hard to find populated vanilla servers renders it obsolete for me. Apparently I'm the only person that doesn't want to play Wasteland with zombies.
-
So how soon before the first DLC? And what effect will they have?
Mos1ey replied to rickyriot's topic in General Discussion
I don't think we'll see DLC for DayZ. I mean, a new map would be nice and all, but the original Chernarus took years to develop and the team are still working on improving it for DayZ. -
You won't be maxing it out as the CPU is clocked pretty low, but yeah, you'll run the game fine on that. No, unfortunately not. It's the CPU/graphics that are the issue. You'd need a whole new machine.

I'm pretty sure you don't spawn with full health. You've always had to go through healing to healthy after spawning, since they added the healing and healthy indicators anyway.

DayZ Mod Project- Colorado Springs Map

Most of them are only armed with worn rotten bananas.

Vehicles will most definitely be difficult to obtain and keep. That's the way DayZ is. Also, please don't write posts with every word on a new line.
-
If zombies were easy to kill then Chernarus wouldn't have gotten into the state that it's in. xD Vehicles will be added later in development, but they will not be common. They will be pretty rare and you will have to spend a long time gathering the parts to repair and maintain them, and they may be stolen by other players.
-
They should make these IRL.

I think he wants to retrieve his DayZ config, not create a new, default one. If it isn't in the recycle bin there might be a way to retrieve it from the Steam cloud but I'm not 100% sure. Do a bit of Googling. :)

The rain is fine IMO. There is another issue that needs to be addressed though... You are getting wet. You are no longer getting wet. You are getting wet. You are no longer getting wet. You are getting wet. You are no longer getting wet. You are getting wet. You are no longer getting wet.

Indeed. Generators would be very unrealistic, lol.
-
This, pretty much. Steam is awesome. Also, like Demon said - DayZ is only available on Steam as it's the most convenient way to deal with pushing constant updates.
-
I'm not sure if the gear you store will persist beyond your death (personally I hope it doesn't...). That kind of defeats the purpose of perma-death.
-
There will probably be tents and some other storage later in development, but other players will always be able to find and loot them. There won't be any safe zones or magical stash points in DayZ, sorry!
-
That might be asking a bit much, but we can dream. First off I'd like to see a better bleeding animation. xD
-
Even a simple "inspect wounds" action menu option that let you identify gunshot wounds (high or low caliber), blunt force trauma, lacerations etc. on a dead body would be nice.
-
In a perfect world I wouldn't use TS3, but the way things are it's just putting yourself at a silly disadvantage IMO.
-
Yeah, more general destruction would be nice!
-
"Keep in mind, this is just placeholder behavior - while we test out the mechanic. The walkie talkie item itself should only cover about 3km. If we went with this, we'd need to create a 2meter or similar handheld."

I'm not a developer but I can answer your questions... There are different teams working on different things. For example the map designers aren't going to be working on zombie AI, are they? So it makes sense that tasks are completed at different times and implemented into the game once they are completed. The zombies are a work in progress and will be improved over time. As you seem to have such high expectations and do not seem content to put up with the bugs and such that come with the territory of an early alpha build I would recommend coming back once we're at the final 1.0 release.
-
I'm pretty sure Rocket commented this prior to release. I don't remember the exact quote but the general idea was that he felt that it would take away from the player driven story of the game. For example in DayZ if you find a dead body you know that someone has been killed, it isn't just a prop. Maybe further down the line blood will stain the environment too.

wot. I run Arma 3 at constant 60 FPS with everything on ultra. The only time I've ever had big FPS drops in cities is in Altis Life...

Apparently the poor server performance is due to the new goodies in the current experimental build, which makes sense. It was taking me an age to open doors or vault as well, general signs of a slow server... I'd probably see better performance on the stable build, but I want to find an AK. What can you do...
