Who will switch the servers off? They're paid for by the community. :)

I don't think I've actually met any Russians in DayZ retail, but I met a load of friendly Russians in the mod!
-
...But did you break your legs?

Customize our own skins face in DAYZ standalone ?
Mos1ey replied to NINJAHITAM's topic in Suggestions
Height and weight would be a bad idea IMO. Everyone would make their characters as small as possible so that they could hide more easily. -
Any time. :) Enjoy!

You are aware that this topic is from May 2012?

1. Pretty much every game ever has an FOV slider, and if not then it should. A reasonable option would be to only allow users to change their FOV from the main menu. Everyone has different sized monitors and preferences, so enforcing a single fog setting for everyone isn't even an option as far as I'm concerned. 2. Again, that's taking an extreme measure to squash the problem instead of just fixing it. The "hitbox" on doors and gates needs to be tweaked, the feature doesn't have to be removed. :S

Well I suppose if they're gonna allow us to make penises out of something it might as well be our penises... -
1. I don't think the FOV slider needs to be removed, but I do think that the min and max values need to changed. 2. That's user error. When you want to open a door just use your "use default action" key when you see the door open/close icon.

Mouse acceleration has been removed.

DayZ has always been designed to be unforgiving and incredibly challenging. I don't think "this isn't what I want so the developers should change their ethos" is a valid argument.

Ahhh, I quickly skimmed over the text as I'd already read the title.

On a serious note - wouldn't this have more to do with the condition of the weapon itself rather than the ammunition? IDK, I'm no gun expert; but that just seems logical to me.

Are your 3D and interface resolutions both set to you native values?

Customize our own skins face in DAYZ standalone ?
Mos1ey replied to NINJAHITAM's topic in Suggestions
Allowing people to customise anything to the point that they can create and upload their own is usually a bad idea when it comes to gaming, unfortunately. I'd rather not have hundreds of people running around with penises for faces TBH. I would definitely like to see some further character customisation (think Skyrim, without the weird lizard people etc. obviously) later in development though! -
Should walkie talkies have text chat?
Mos1ey replied to leefriendfield's topic in General Discussion
I voted "no". Personally, I wish that text chat wasn't featured in the game at all. DayZ is the kind of game that requires a microphone IMO. -
It's difficult to say as I'm not familiar with those A series CPUs but I would have thought 30-60 FPS on mostly "high" settings. The second one is the better system. It should run almost maxed out with 40-60 FPS.

Full perma-death is too much IMO. If I was paying for a hardcore server I wouldn't be happy if all of my friends died and couldn't play there any more, and then what happens if the I die too? I can't play on my own server? I like the other ideas though.

Health / Hunger / Thirst / Hydrated / Healthy....
Mos1ey replied to dulix11's topic in General Discussion
Hydrated - not thirsty Energized - not hungry When both are light green you get the "healing" status and eventually become "healthy". Personally I wouldn't concern myself with the exact health and blood numbers. I think that once you start thinking about a game in terms of numbers the immersion is gone. -
It's an unofficial mod server.

I'm not sure that player built structures will be implemented TBH. 1) The map would quickly become full of clutter. 2) In an apocalypse type situation where supplies are limited and you don't want to waste man-power or time, why on Earth would you build a base from scratch when you're in an area full of villages, towns and cities full of perfectly good structures? It just makes much more sense to fortify existing structures to me.

My friend with an FX-6300 and GTX 760 gets 30 to ~60 FPS on mostly "high" settings.

Zombies are too hard (defending my opinion)
Mos1ey replied to JosephHabib's topic in General Discussion
TBH it's not hard to survive without even being hit once as a fresh spawn as long as you don't attract more than one zombie at a time. Maybe the problem is the way that you're playing, not the game. :) -
Just depends on how much of a stickler for FPS you are really. No, probably not. The i7 will perform better in other games and I'm not sure that the extra 200Mhz would have been worth the loss of two cores in DayZ. To run the game maxed out you really need a solid desktop system with a pretty highly overclocked CPU.
