Wait 10 minutes. If they don't come out in 10 minutes then run away screaming like a little girl. This ethos seems to win most of my gunfights for me in both ArmA and DayZ.
-
My guess would be not enough ArmA/not being comfortable with making shots over 100m. They probably feel like they have a better chance if they get up close.
-
I think you'd struggle to keep a dog during the apocalypse, nevermind a horse.
-
Personally I think they should just up the amount of time that your character remains in-game to 60 seconds. I suppose that currently you can still combat log out of mid-range firefights relatively easily.
-
I believe this is an unintended feature that will be "fixed" at some point. Haven't heard any official word from the devs though, so can't confirm either way.
-
I think more general destruction etc. will come once the map is completed. The map design guys are still working on new towns.
-
You're closer to Europe than I am and claim to have double my ping, I don't think I'm the one trolling. :S Like I said - it may be worth contacting some server hosts to see if they're able to offer ME servers, but I wouldn't be surprised if they can't or won't. There simply isn't a big enough market.
-
I get 130ms to UK and other EU servers from Dubai. Is there a problem with your line? The server files for DayZ are not available to the public, you can't host a server on your machine, you have to rent them from a server provider. It might be worth contacting a few server providers and seeing if they're able to offer servers in the Middle East, but I wouldn't hold your breath.

With clouds on "very high" and HDR on "low" I can see well enough to navigate at night. I think I probably miss the odd piece of loot and it's not ideal for PvP type play, but I can just about see. I think your monitor also plays a big role in how well you can see at night.
-
IMO this would be taking things a bit too far. I would support the removal of text chat, but not forcing people to have a microphone before they could play the game.
-
Assuming they're the same as in the mod (which I can't confirm) - it's completely random.
-
As Inception. pointed out - global bans are handled by BattlEye. Assuming that you haven't already, contact BattlEye Support... http://www.battleye.com/support.html Beware that if you did cheat your cheat was detected (hence the ban) and there is no chance that you will be unbanned.

When the time comes for gameplay balancing...
Mos1ey replied to Dagwood's topic in General Discussion
That's exactly what the OP is talking about - balancing loot spawns. -
Yeah, they really need to differentiate between kicks and user disconnects. It's not fair that someone can be kicked by admin and then have to wait for the cool-down period before they can connect to another server.
-
Someone didn't play PlanetSide during alpha, lol. The optimisation wasn't done until well after the final 1.0 release, it ran worse than DayZ does during alpha. A lot of what makes games like DayZ and Arma intensive is not simply rendering, it's CPU calculations and information being sent and received from other players. Also, read the last line of my post again.

Merged. Also, I'd go with the FX-8350 build with an aftermarket cooler and overclock it.
-
It doesn't really work like that. I run CSS with 1000 FPS yet I only get 100 FPS in BF4. That doesn't mean that CSS is better optimised, it means that BF4 is a more demanding game. Yes, DayZ is not well optimised at this time, but it is also a very demanding game due to the enormous size of the map.
-
Yeah, very true. This is why I always thought it was a bit silly when people suggested that over-eating should make your character fat.
-
Unfortunately it doesn't work like that. The servers and owned by community members so if they want to have a server, they rent one. It would be an easy fix if the developers controlled all of the servers, but they don't.
-
I don't think disease and illness should be random, but I'm fairly sure that it will feature in the game later in development. For example if you don't properly care for a wound it may become infected and getting wet and cold at night could result in hypothermia.
-
This is pretty much what happened in the mod. As custom mods and servers with 1,000 vehicles and various other easy mode scripts started popping up the stock DayZ servers became more and more empty until it was more or less impossible to find a populated one. I think it's fair to predict that the same would happen with your survival servers.

Heli crash sites were added to DayZ retail in the latest experimental build. Heli crash sites are now the only place that you can find the M4.
-
The videos that you have seen were more than likely DayZ mod. Vehicles have not yet been implemented in DayZ retail, but will be later in development.
-
Unfortunately I don't think we'll see seasons in DayZ. IIRC Rocket said that snow would require the map to be built from scratch.
-
Well that's unfortunate...
