You should spawn with a completely empty inventory and no backpack. Makes more sense than the random items you start with right now. And yeah, ALICE packs are kinda too common, as much as I love them. <3

This is like saying 'oh, you should make it so your PC runs using only the monitor'. Yes, it would be nice... But it just doesn't work like that. DayZ uses the ARMA II: CO engine. There's gonna be a mod for ARMA 3, then a standalone game at some point in the future. If you want to play it now then you'll have to buy CO.

You can build a nice little machine with that budget if you build it yourself. If you bought pre-built you'd end up spending about £800 for essentially the same system.

I was playing in a night server last night, hit a graphical bug so I couldnt see where I was going and fell in the water. I was swimming for like 5-10 minutes trying to get out, eventually got out and had to run for a while with my temp icon flashing to find an indoor area. Eventually found one and managed to raise my temperature high enough to avoid infection status. Didn't even use a heat pack. Needs to be made a bit more harsh to be in keeping with the rest of the game IMO. Thoughts?

TBH I view DayZ in it's current form as a test run. The ARMA 3 and standalone versions will probably be big steps up and wipe the floor with what we're currently playing. I'm sure there will still be a heavy PvP element but others too to keep everything in balance.

No, it's more like force everyone to play the game because that's the fucking game and if you don't like it then why are you playing it? I agree night vision and thermals are OP and the game would be better without them, but that's a separate issue. Everything else you've suggested is ridiculous though.

I agree because of hackers but I think this would hurt the game in the long run. This would be a nice temporary measure until the hacking issue is sorted out.

Rocket already said no to 'special infected' and I definitely think he's right with that one.

@Owl - I don't like deathmatching, I'm a survivor, but I enjoy having the threat of bandits out to get my loot in the game, as I've explained several times now in this thread alone. This conversation is over as talking to you is incredibly frustrating. Sorry. @Warden - If you see someone with an ALICE pack and an AK, maybe camo clothing or a ghillie suit, they've probably got some goodies worth hiding. The douchers killing you in Cherno when you're unarmed and then not even looking at your corpse aren't bandits, they're griefers. Just killing to piss people off and get +1 murder for their e-peen. That's what needs to be fixed. Killing and looting players is fine, if you can't deal with that then maybe this just isn't your game, dude. It's harsh but that's life and this is a sim.

@Owl - Then we're back to the no friendlies in PvP servers problem... Pay attention. @Warden - I think you'd get a lot of 'Oh, too many bandits in here. Let's go somewhere else...' going on. Part of the game is not knowing this stuff. I think the game would benefit greatly from something to discourage pointless murders and griefing, but real banditry (killing for loot/map control/etc.) shouldn't be hindered in any way, in any server. :)

Bandits shouldn't be flagged or anything like that. Not knowing who to trust is a BIG part of this game. That moment where I'm in cover watching a guy, trying to figure out his intentions, whether to make contact, let him pass (or do I have to kill him?!), is awesome and no other game can provide that. Messing with stuff like this would ruin it. I'd like some kind of humanity system to tone down the deathmatch that the game has become, but nothing too extreme. TBH, I think even something small like getting rid of he 'murders' statistic would make a big difference in the amount of pointless PvPing and griefing going on.

I don't really think this would make too much of a difference to the game but I wouldn't oppose it. One thing I would like is an IV item which is required for blood transfusions and the ability to perform one on yourself. It makes no sense that you can give someone a transfusion but not yourself, lol.

Agree. The only use of barbed wire that I've seen is people blocking off hangers so that you can't get inside without server hopping. Complete BS. Not 100% sure that it's the barbed wire that's causing the artifacting but it's nothing but a royal pain in the arse anyway...

I prefer to play as a survivor, not a bandit. I don't fire unless I'm fired upon. If you make PvE servers then the few friendly players left disappear from the game and I'm left with only bandits and griefers. And you can't add more zombies, it would cause too much server lag. In the ARMA 3/standalone versions there will probably be more zombies.

Because PvP is part of the game. Why don't we make a version with no zombies too, and we can organise a 50 man circle jerk at the NW airfield.

IMO first person play is more immersive and just a better experience. You feel much more 'in the game'. I always use third person if it's enabled just because you have so much more periferal vision though. I wouldn't be opposed to it going at all, but I'll continue to use it while it's available. xD
