The previous one - if you connected to multiple servers within half an hour you had to wait.
-
10 minutes. Better than the previous system - you'd have had to wait 10 minutes twice.
-
Yeah, hopefully they'll bring it back with some kind of stacking effect for consecutive <30 minute play sessions. Connect to a server - no cooldown. Change to another server without playing for 30 minutes - no cooldown. Change to another server without playing for 30 minutes - 10 minute cooldown. Change to another server without playing for 30 minutes - 30 minute cooldown. Change to another server without playing for 30 minutes - 1 hour cooldown.

Bans are handled by BattlEye and you're ban is effective in Arma 2 (not DayZ) anyway. Contact BattlEye directly via the link in my signature.

I'm not 100% sure but I believe the current weapon sounds are placeholders.

My Quick Opinion on Future Development of DayZ
Mos1ey replied to FanaticModz520's topic in General Discussion
It will take a while but I would definitely expect much higher server capacities in future. They had 100 slot servers running okay on experimental at one point, the problem is that every time they add features server performance takes a hit so I think it will be a while until they try to up the capacity again. -
Well there may be times in the future where it has to be carried out at other times, but yes, server maintenance is usually carried out on Wednesdays.
-
There will never be game enforced safe zones in DayZ. Rocket has expressed many times that it's something that he has zero interest in. Like others suggested - if you want "safe zones" then gather a large group and create one yourselves. DayZ is a sandbox game, that's what it's for.

Breaking Point used to be pretty good. I didn't play for a few months and when I loaded it up again they'd pretty much removed zombies though. You used to get absolutely swarmed in towns, now you just see the odd zombie waddle by every once in a while.

My Quick Opinion on Future Development of DayZ

I highly doubt they'll remove the forests and whatnot, they're just filling in some of the unused space in the northern portion of the map. -
My Quick Opinion on Future Development of DayZ
Mos1ey replied to FanaticModz520's topic in General Discussion
I disagree. Once we're running 100+ slot servers I think we will most definitely need the extra towns. Also, I think that the existing areas should be worked on and made to look more run down and "apocalyptic". All in all there is quite a lot for the map guys to be doing. -
Any time. ;)

The stable servers are down for maintenance. Server maintenance is carried out every Wednesday, it shouldn't take more than a few hours.

My Quick Opinion on Future Development of DayZ
Mos1ey replied to FanaticModz520's topic in General Discussion
So if they stop adding new content then what do the map design and 3D modelling guys do while the coders are squashing bugs? Bugs get fixed. Bugs get created. Rinse and repeat. Such is alpha. -
This is only temporary but yes, the range will be increased to 30km for the time being.
-
Not really. I mean the place that you'd find things like this in Chernarus would be the heli crash sites and maybe it's just me but I don't think I'd arm my men with sniper rifles to deal with large groups of fast moving infected, would you? Seems like a grenade launcher or LMG would fit the bill much better...
-
I don't see any problem with grenade launchers as long as they're rare. Grenade launchers are the kind of thing that the military would use in this situation. The only kind of weapons that I don't think belong in DayZ are high powered sniper rifles.

Why does Dayz not have a proper gun detection system ?
Mos1ey replied to gibonez's topic in General Discussion
Yeah, but in Arma 2 you couldn't fit through a door sideways even if you were unarmed, nevermind with a lowered rifle. -

Mos1ey replied to gibonez's topic in General Discussion
Does the mod allow you to actually pass through small spaces when your rifle is moved though? -
This.^ You more than likely won't see any big changes with regards to performance for a long time yet. The game should run alright on the specs that you posted though. My friend runs mostly "high" settings on an FX-6300 and GTX 760 and he doesn't have any problems with performance.

Mos1ey replied to gibonez's topic in General Discussion
If automatically raising/lowering the weapon to fit through doorways etc. was an option then I think this would have been implemented, but I think it would have been somewhere between very difficult and impossible in the RV engine. With all the changes that the devs have planned for the engine, who knows though. Maybe this is something that we'll see in DayZ further down the line. -
You can play games while appearing offline. I think you're getting "appearing offline" confused with putting Steam in "offline mode". Most games should function fine while in offline mode anyway, save for a few that require a connection to play at all, i.e. Dota 2. Regards, Steam Nerd

Too difficult/frustrating in the beginning?
Mos1ey replied to MarchmelloMan's topic in General Discussion
I think the real issue is that it's not diificult enough to survive after the first few hours.- 31 replies

The lighting in Arma 3 is lovely. Hopefully we'll get something similar with the light passing through buildings/general bugginess fixed in DayZ eventually.
