It could double up as a splint!

A handgun could be tucked into the waistband of your trousers but being able to carry anything else while it's not in your hands is slightly inauthentic. Requiring a sling or similar would be a nice touch IMO.

The DayZ community aren't really testers, they just play. Most don't submit bug reports, they just complain when they encounter a bug. The weapon will have been tested in-house before it was patched into the public build.

Hardcore 90% of the time, regular as an alt account when I'm playing solo. -
In the very, very, very beginning there was a little while where there was about a 60/40 friendly/bandit split. That changed as soon as people started posting videos to YouTube, then Reddit, and a lot of players from outside of the Arma community started playing though. By this time 2012 the deathmatch was on and it's been the same since.

Yeah, I have my own TS server and I use that with my friends. I don't know why people use TS servers provided by game server owners though. :S

I never use public TS servers in games with VOIP. I just don't see the point... I'm pretty sure that those guys just wanted you to alt + tab so that they could kill you.

Yeah, they could be but it was a 0.1% chance IIRC.

NVG, rangefinders, camo/ghillies and GPS could all be a pain in the arse to find. I'm not sure which servers you played on, but a heli crash that hadn't already been looted was a pretty rare find on the ones that I used to frequent.

Not only vehicles and base building though. In the mod, if you didn't get lucky and take out a fully kitted bandit, it took weeks to gather all of the top end gear in the game, in DayZ retail it only takes a few hours. Once there are more weapons and items the game will have more of a natural progression to it. Also, once weather actually has adverse effects and disease is implemented I think the game will be much more interesting.

A lot of people are just waiting for more content to be added, which is fair enough really. I don't play much at the minute. Once vehicles and base building are added and general survival is made more difficult I'll play a lot more.

Moved to DayZ Mod > Troubleshooting. Unfortunately I'm not sure why you're having problems, but I can tell you that no, you do not need the original Arma game to play DayZ mod. All you need is Arma 2 and Arma 2: Operation Arrowhead. -
IMO being able to spin 180° instantly while maintaining perfect hip fire accuracy is not any more authentic than the weapon spin delay.

If you can stay under 200 ping, you'll be fine. Just allow more time for the bullet to travel from your rifle to the enemy and you're good. :thumbsup: -
Go to Documents > DayZ and delete DayZ.cfg and the >your name< DayZPROFILE File. That should restore your settings to default when you launch the game again.

An <2Ghz i3 with integrated graphics will probably run the game, i.e. it will open without giving you an error message, but I would estimate <10 FPS for the most part and would not recommend buying the game with the intention of playing on that machine. dayz standalone minimum requirements accurate?

Server FPS is important in all online games, it just happens that DayZ servers are more strenuous to run due to the massive size of the map and number objects like loot, zombies, wildlife and players that the server has to spawn and keep tabs on.
