Yeah, the most obvious way is the flies. But you can only take items from a players backpack, not their main inventory or tool slots, while they're alive too, and if someone is unconscious you get the give epi/bloodbag/bandage/etc. options too.
-
Did you at least ride the invisable bike around for a while?
-
You are running incorrect version of DAYZ_CODE (1.7.3, need 1.1)
Mos1ey replied to Whishishu's topic in DayZ Mod Troubleshooting
You're running DayZ 1.7.3, not the Lingor mod. Like the other guy said, it's much easier if you use DayZ Commander. -
Specifics on the processor (Ghz), the graphics card and HDD speed would be nice to know.
-
No, probably not. Not on Chernaraus anyway, on Lingor you might.

Will my computer run DayZ well?

Gamebooster is probably the one that most people use. -
Probably next server restart.

You'll probably run the game but not well enough to enjoy it. A 2.6Ghz dual-core and 2Gb RAM just isn't enough to play ArmA 2 smoothly, sorry! -
I've seen a couple of people reporting that they can't repair wheels on a damaged vehicle with the new patch now. Repairing a fresh spawn is fine but once you damage the vehicle they seem to be irrepairable. :( Good man, maybe you can find another vehicle and transfer your gear over. Careful with the wheels on this one though! xD
-
It'll definitely run the game but like was said above you'll be running on 'normal' settings.
-
Your best bet would be switching from the laptop to a desktop. You can put a decent machine together on a fairly tight budget that way, you'd have to spend a fortune for a laptop that could run ArmA/DayZ well.
-
The mod is still in alpha, fixing a bug only for it to break something else is pretty common this early in development. You'll have to just put up with it or downgrade to the last patch for now, 1.7.4 won't be too long.
-
You spawn on the beach because you're supposed to have washed up on the shore, lol. Use your imagination. xD
-
Honestly, have you ever left Elektro?
-
I think there's a bug with repairing damaged vehicles in the new patch unfortunately.

You want some more progress screenshots of DayZ Standalone?

+Barracks Don't forget the barracks! -
Lol, this is basically a little bit better that what my rig will be when I finally get the cash together for the big upgrade. Now I'm jealous...
-
Really? I would have thought the CPU would still bottleneck TBH. You know what screen res he plays in? I don't have an SSD, does it really make that much difference in ArmA??
-
As long as there are games, people will find a way to cheat. The standalone, as a full game, should get way better anticheat support than the mod has though. It won't be a problem like it is now.

People overreacting about Namalsk?

No, I think you're confusing me with Jimmy Saville -

No, it wasn't the wind or general environment. It was like freaky ghost children! Not cool. :C -
The mod will continue to be supported alongside the standalone game. If you don't want to buy the standalone and would like to keep playing the mod, that's absolutely fine. The standalone will have much better anticheat support, less bugs (due to it having it's own engine and not trying to make the ArmA 2 engine do things that it doesn't want to do, lol) and obviously will be able to go above and beyond the limitations of the current engine, i.e. new interfaces, medical system, inventory system etc.

Will this computer run it? Please help
Mos1ey replied to The Friendly Bandit's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
Unfortunately this is true. I'd recommend building or buying a custom built desktop unless you're looking to spend big bucks. -
This. Being caught out, low on blood, and knocked out is the only way I've died to zombies in months. If they were nerfed any more then they might as well just be removed.

3.6Ghz quad with hyperthreading (8 CPUs) here and I can just about scrape by on high with HDR on very high, lol...
