I've still only found one set of night-vision goggles as a loot drop and I've been playing since a month or two after the mod released, lol. It's much easier to just kill a geared up bandit. xD

This is a nice idea in theory but people would just use Teamspeak or similar programs rendering them redundant, lol.

The apartments in Cherno and Berezino have always been good for camo/ghillies for me. Used to find them in churches often too, but haven't seen any there for ages so I'm thinking maybe they were removed from those loot piles at some point.

Try and find the matches, night vision, better weapons and maybe get yourself a vehicle and/or tent you can store some extra stuff in in case the worst happens.

If you genuinely have never cheated in ArmA 2/DayZ then chances are your key has been stolen and sold on to someone that has used it to cheat. Have you downloaded any unofficial DayZ FPS boosting .exes lately by any chance? -

There have been times when I've thought 'I could kill these guys and run off with sooo much gear' but I've never actually considered doing it, on the rare occasion that I do bad things in DayZ I'm pretty clear in my intentions. xD

The bandit skin was removed for a while, the game basically went full deathmatch and everyone wanted it back so guess what happened...

I don't think it's been officially confirmed but I'm pretty sure they're going with only digital distribution to begin with and then maybe releasing a 'collector's edition' version which would include a hard-copy of the game and a few other bits and pieces.

The bandit/survivor/hero skins are your indicator, IMO more info than that is just unnecessary hand holding. The debug monitor was never intended as a permanent feature. :) Humanity is being reworked for the foundation build and we don't know to what extent yet, making this discussion kind of moot.

I think your gear carries between all Vilayer servers but for the most part it is restricted to the one private hive server, yeah. Hackers can be a problem these days and private hives are allowed to use password or whitelist protection though so you'll find a lot of players are playing in private hives now.

A lot of us are just eagerly waiting for the foundation build now. :) I'd recommend either using DayZ Commander or the ArmA 2 in-game server browser to find a private hive server to play on though, there are still a lot of people playing. About your FPS - you might have more luck with a map like Lingor. I can run Lingor on max graphics no problem but I have to turn a few things down and still drop to 30 FPS in the main cities in Chernarus.

Personally, RAMDisk did absolutely nothing for me (8Gb RAM & 7200RPM HDD). I think if you could run ArmA 2, Operation Arrowhead AND DayZ mod on a virtual drive then it would probably make a huge difference but for most people that's impossible and if you have enough RAM for that then the rest of your system is probably good enough that you don't need to boost your performance. Wouldn't recommend RAMDisk unless you're using a slow HDD.

I'd be lying if I said I didn't enjoy hunting bandits but for the most part I prefer to avoid or help people. DayZ isn't a deathmatch, it can be whatever you want it to be.

Yes, you can play again if you buy another copy of the game. Maybe don't cheat this time and you won't get banned again. That's all the info you asked for and I can't see this thread going anywhere other than people flaming you so I'm locking it.

I'd like this. Or at least make all the military gear so rare that it was really uncommon for someone to actually have all the best gear at one time. It does make sense for the high-end gear to be there with Chernarus being a post-soviet state with loads of military bases though.

Have you checked your CPU and GPU temps before and after your system starts to slow down? You might be overheating. That system will be really struggling to run the game.
