What will happen to DayZ MOD servers?
Mos1ey replied to Ratsmon's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
I haven't actually tried to play on the main hive for a long time so I wouldn't know, lol. If it is in fact still down I don't believe it's down for good and there are more than enough private hive servers to keep the mod alive after the release of the foundation build if it were to go down for good. :) -
It's the only logical explanation that I can think of, I could be wrong though. The main hive is still up and running although the majority of players do prefer to find a nice private hive server and call it home these days.
-
Of course. I have a Steam version of ArmA 2: CO. :)
-
Hmm... I'd say probably not but it's hard to say because although it has a really low power CPU it is a quad-core and some people say they get by on dual-cores. My advice would be to try ArmA 2: Free and see how that runs. Bear in mind that DayZ mod is a little more taxing on your system with all the zombies running around and whatnot. If you want more opinions please use the designated 'Can I Run It?' thread which you can find here... http://dayzmod.com/forum/index.php?/topic/64576-can-i-run-it-ask-here/page__st__2060 Thanks!

That's strange. :S Maybe it was on the main hive and recently changed to private?
-
Not all private hive servers have private hive in the name, lol. You can use DayZ Commander to see official/unofficial servers.
-
Sorry, you have to install BOTH ArmA 2 and Operation Arrowhead. Then use SixLauncher or DayZ Commander to install DayZ mod. If you still don't understand, maybe you can find a tutorial on YouTube in your language that will help you.
-
Yeah, you shouldn't have any problems. I'd recommend DayZ Commander (third-party software) for a super easy installation process.

What will happen to DayZ MOD servers?
Mos1ey replied to Ratsmon's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
The mod will be pretty much handed over to the community, the guys who helped out with the last couple of updates will more than likely contribute. IMO it will probably mirror whatever changes are implemented in the foundation build (within the limits of ArmA 2, obviously) with whatever else the community feels like adding on top. -

DayZ mod will continue to be supported and updated after the release of the foundation build. :) -
I love the inventory system personally.
Mos1ey replied to scaramoosh's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
I don't hate it like some people seem to but I definitely wouldn't be opposed to change. ^_^ -
BattlEye hand out bans in waves, if you got a cheat detected message then I'd expect a global ban sooner or later, lol. Don't bother posting again if you get banned, it's nothing to do with us. Contact BattlEye support directly (read the sticky threads in the Ban Appeals forum) although there isn't really much point as they'll have the logs that show you joined a game with your cheats on...

No, the broken bones icon looks like this... http://slashreroll.files.wordpress.com/2012/06/broken-legs-are-no-joke.jpg

Early 2013, that's all we know as of yet. :)
-
My main hive character must be nearing 100 days, lol. Pretty much waiting for the foundation build and only really play private hives when I do get on these days. xD

Where do you live? If you're in the UK then this + a copy of Windows would run you about £400 and then you'd have enough left over to upgrade the graphics card... http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Vibox-4-0GHz-16GB-4-0GHz-Quad-core-gaming-PC-1TB-Super-Fast-computer-/221127252096?pt=UK_Computing_DesktopPCs&hash=item337c361880 If you have any more questions please use the 'Can I Run It?' thread which you can find here... http://dayzmod.com/forum/index.php?/topic/64576-can-i-run-it-ask-here/page__st__2000 Thanks!

You go in to shock if you take a lot of damage quickly. A few fast hits from zombies, taking falling damage or the classic closing a door on yourself will usually cause you to go in to shock. #2 on this image... http://guides.gamepr.../1462941718.jpg I always thought the icon was supposed to be 2 objects colliding, but I actually have no idea. xD Maybe you're just lucky? :S

You can sling your primary on your shoulder while you hold your secondary and you can holster your secondary while you hold your primary. You should be able to shoulder your primary, holster your secondary and hold the hatchet or a torch. Would be done by going in to your gear menu and right clicking the tool you want to use. (To simulate getting it from wherever your tools are stored.)

Can I run Dayz with a single core processor?
Mos1ey replied to zkiller96's topic in DayZ Mod Troubleshooting
TBH I wouldn't recommend trying to play ArmA 2 or DayZ on anything less than a quad-core. There are probably some dual-cores that can run the game relatively smoothly on low settings but I'm not sure a rig with a single core CPU will even open the game without giving you an error message. -
Epinephrine is adrenaline... It's an artificially produced form rather than the natural adrenaline that your body produces. Also, once someone is dead sticking them with a shot of adrenaline would do absolutely nothing.

When was the first time YOU killed someone in DayZ?
Mos1ey replied to tacticalbanana's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
Literally the very first time I played. I loaded the game up, joined a random server with a lot of players and spawned in in complete darkness right next to a guy standing in a boat holding a flare. I figured he was friendly or he wouldn't just be standing out in the open with a flare like that. (This was early days for the mod, there were A LOT more friendlies around...) He didn't have a mic but saluted and began to follow me as I made my way off in to the darkness to explore... We came to a small town on the coast and I went prone to try and sneak past the zombies, I turned around to see where he'd got to and he started shooting at me. I unloaded my revolver into his face and he dropped to the floor. I ran away, bandaged, left the game and then hid in a cupboard for several hours. -
Other than turning your graphics settings down and/or buying a new CPU there isn't too much you can do. ArmA/DayZ is very CPU intensive.

Roughly What FPS Will I Get? + You Want To Be In Some Videos?

I heard they run Pong smooth as butter. -
Can my Laptop run Dayz in the LOWEST settings?
Mos1ey replied to Skirmisher's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
No, I'd recommend a 3+Ghz quad-core CPU and 4Gb RAM minimum. The graphics card isn't so important but obviously integrated graphics won't work well. If you have any more questions please use the 'Can I Run It?' thread which you can find here... http://dayzmod.com/f.../page__st__1880 -
The fire stations pretty much always have at least one military grade weapon unless it's already been looted. You'll find winchesters, Enfields, makarovs, M1911s and revolvers in the cafes and apartments. Then when you head north you can find the really high tier loot in barracks and heli crash sites.
