    If you're a lot more comfortable with using your left arm to aim then I would actually recommend remapping to something like pl;' instead of wasd and taking the mouse with your left hand. I know a couple of lefties that arrowkey but I find that extremely odd. Not sure I'd recommend that... Lol.

    Having not played the standalone it's hard to say at this point, but I wouldn't expect any miracles, you'll only be disappointed. It will be better optimised but there's a lot more graphical fidelity so I'm expecting pretty much the same performance.

    Play WithSIX works fine, most people prefer Commander as it's more user friendly and caters to DayZ's many modceptions though.

    We really don't know when the standalone will be released. All I know is that it won't be for at least a few weeks because closed testing hasn't started yet. You can play DayZ with ArmA 2: Free and the paid version of Operation Arrowhead. If you're happy to buy OA knowing that the standalone could come out in about a month then go ahead, otherwise just wait.

    I'd recommend a 3Ghz quad-core, 4Gb RAM and med-tier dedicated graphics card absolute minimum for playing ArmA 2/DayZ. Your PC just isn't powerful enough to run the game smoothyl I'm afraid. :(

    In what way is it incorrect? The 'game' is intended as a survival sim, it really isn't a traditional game.

    Honestly, RAMDisk doesn't do a whole lot unless... a. You're playing on a laptop or for some other reason have a 5400RPM HDD. b. You have about 20Gb RAM to spare and want to install ArmA 2:CO AND DayZ to it. c. You're skipping frames. RAMDisk will probably give you slightly better stability.

    The only thing that's put me off playing is the fact that you have to be in their TS the whole time. Is it not just like people talking in side the whole time but worse? Lol.

    Looking at your specs I wouldn't have thought you could run on 'very high'. :S Are you really getting 150-300 FPS on high? o.O

    Are you using a Teamspeak overlay or anything else that would affect your game? Also, have you tried turning off Steam in-game? I've had problems with anti-cheats kicking me for it before in some games.

    Click install/update in DayZ Commander. They have loads of mods and maps available.

    No, I meant check that he's actually installed the games into the default Steam directory. Also, you do have to run both ArmA 2 and ArmA 2:OA up to the main menu before you install DayZ. Have you opened them once each from Steam?

    The default is C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Arma 2 Have you checked that the .exes are actually there? Also, I noticed that you have updates available in DayZ Commander ?

    When it says 'validate your directories' I think it means go to DayZ Commander > Settings > Game Directories and check that you've specified the correct locations. The problem is that it can't find a file.
