What game?
-
This seems more like something that would be in the other zombie game TBH.
-
Apparently there are keygens that just crunch numbers until something sticks these days. The chance of your key being stolen this way is very slim though.

If hero's run faster than bandits than what do bandits do better than a hero?

Completely forgot about that! ...And your backpack is often the thing that gives away your position, especially if you're prone. -

No washing up is the main advantage of Heinz baked beans, eaten from the can. Did you never go to uni? -
The thing with PPE is it looks great if you're playing in high settings with high FPS, otherwise it's a pain in the arse and causes input lag. xD
-
It can be turned off, don't worry. Not sure why Rocket insists on recording videos with it turned on though. xD
-
I noticed you're playing on a laptop. Have you checked your graphics card and CPU temps after a few minutes of playing? Sounds like your machine might be overheating, pretty common for laptops.

The current build isn't playable. They haven't given an estimated release date because they just don't know. While they've made a lot of progress, there's still a lot of work to be done and they don't know how long it's going to take. Like Fraggle said - everyone just has to chill out and be patient. :)

Are Cherno and Elektro staying for the standalone? i hope not!
Mos1ey replied to elf cakes's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
They haven't removed any towns or cities AFAIK, they've just added new places. Haven't explored anywhere near the whole map but Kamenka has a supermarket and Balota's airfield has a few more buildings (no barracks) and it's 4 deer stands are now a huge military outpost with loads of tents. -
Michael, there were no zombies on the server when I was on but I was running maxed out with AA turned down to 'high' and post-process and ambient occlusion disabled and my PC isn't great. It runs fine and I'm thinking there's probably still optimisation to be done before release. :) Also, you need to understand that the current build isn't ready to be played and they're currently updating at least once per day, so any issues will be fixed before release.

Using 'low' settings puts the load on your CPU instead of your graphics card. Guessing you have a weak CPU? @OP - what settings are you playing on?

how to handle property - the issue when being offline

Rule #1 - Don't get attached to your gear. If you can't log in often enough to protect your camp, then don't expect it to be there when you get back. Simple as that, it's part of the game. :) -
Your frame rate will shoot up if you look at the sky in literally any game ever, lol.
-
The performance tab in Catalyst... It'll overheat and your system will crash if you crank it all the way up and it really won't buy you much in the way of FPS though. Get a decent i5 and a better graphics card if you want to play on higher settings.
-
Pretty sure Rocket's said on more than one occasion that singleplayer won't happen. DayZ is all about human interaction.
-
Have you tried 'normal' settings? Changing everything to 'low' puts the load on your CPU which in your case, probably isn't a good thing. Also, have you tried disabling anti-aliasing and post-process effects?

FOR POSSIBLE BETTER PERFORMANCE, LOOK HERE!
Mos1ey replied to madmega's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
I believe setting it to 'very high' is the same as using -maxvram=512, so I'm not sure why that would cause you to see an improvement in FPS. :S -

Mos1ey replied to madmega's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
I've been using -maxvram=2047 for as long as I can remember, make sure you use -cpucount=X -exthreads=X and -maxmem=2047 as well (2047mb is the hard-coded maximum and I think everyone has more than 2Gb RAM these days) to make sure that all your hardware is properly detected or there isn't much point. -

I'm not sure why you'd want to use less than the full amount of your graphics memory. :S -

If you have 1Gb of VRAM you should actually be using -maxVRAM=1024, for 2Gb -maxVRAM=2047. Also, this isn't a suggestion, lol. -
