It sounds like either your ARMA 2 beta version or your version of DayZ mod are out of date. You can find DayZ Commander here... http://www.dayzcommander.com/ I'd recommend deleting DayZ and reinstalling both DayZ mod and the latest ARMA 2 beta patch with DZC. :)

I look forward to the torrents of 'Y U MISS DEADLINES AGAIN ROCKET?!' posts in June... I saw some posts on Reddit after this 'reasses the situation in June' comment was released claiming that this was the third time he'd missed his deadlines already, lol. Also, climbing Everest is kind of a once in a lifetime thing. Let the man go... It's only a game. -

There might be unofficial mods in the future, like there are now. There aren't currently any plans for additional official maps AFAIK though. -

It's nowhere near feature complete = alpha. They're fixing old bugs in every new build. You don't have to reload the hatchet any more, for example. :S -

This. On my laptop I have to go in to Catalyst Control Panel and assign applications to either run on 'power saving' or 'high performance' graphics. My laptop has an AMD card though, Nvidia will probably be slightly different. -
They're still following the Minecraft model and releasing in alpha. The current build isn't playable, they're releasing when it is...

It also makes the game incredibly easy to hack and divides the community. I'd actually really like for DayZ standalone to remain 100% vanilla so we don't end up with only 9,001 vehicle and 24/7 daylight servers again TBH.

Serova is right, you have to run ARMA 2 and OA right up to the main menu once each before you can install DayZ mod. If you've already done that and what I suggested didn't work then follow this guide and see if it helps... http://kodabar.blogspot.dk/2012/05/how-to-install-dayz-with-arma-2-free.html

I'm not 100% sure if you can launch with DayZ Commander using ARMA 2: Free. Have you tried using DZC to install DayZ mod and then launching Operation Arrowhead through Steam using the launch option -mod=@DayZ ?

£500 will build you a decent machine if you're smart with parts and where you buy them. :)

Fair enough, wasn't sure it was doable since the OA beta uber-nerf on secondaries. I'm not sure about holstering a hatchet anyway though, I think it would either need a third slot or to be kept the way it is, in the name of logic.

I think they'd have to be reskinned handguns, therefore do miniscule damage.

I guarantee you a date hasn't been set yet. He said they'd review the situation in June, not that they're releasing in June.
