If you want to play DayZ mod then ARMA 2. If you just want to play ARMA then ARMA 3.
-
Are you using DayZ Commander?
-
Awesome. :) It should also affect temperature at night.

Strange things happen in elektro... !!
Mos1ey replied to timedance's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
It's a bug, unfortunately. -
3ae0bc is the first 6 characters of your GUID, it isn't an error code.

What Vapordad said. Locked.

Putting videos on YouTube doesn't make you 'pro'.

I don't think so. He's got a 2.3Ghz CPU and a 5400 RPM HDD. It's not really cut out for ARMA. Here are some things you could try though... First make sure post-process effects and anti-aliasing are disabled in your graphics settings, they eat a lot of FPS. You'll probably get better results with shadows set to high as it puts the load on your graphics card instead of your CPU and everything else should be set to normal or low, play around with it and see what works best for you. Then I would try disabling hyperthreading and changing the following values in your ArmA2OA.cfg... GPU_MaxFramesAhead=0; GPU_DetectedFramesAhead=1; Also, you might benefit from running DayZ on a virtual drive using your RAM with RAMDisk because of the slow HDD. It's relatively easy to set up, you should be able to find tutorials on YouTube. You could also move some of ArmA 2's .pbo files to the virtual drive, you'd see a bigger increase in performance, but it's a bit more tricky to set up.

Standalone: Server spawn zombies should not die at all.
Mos1ey replied to Zalexey's topic in DayZ Mod Suggestions
They aren't already dead, they're infected with a virus. They're still human and anything that would kill a non-infected human will kill them. -
Is using teamspeak 'cheating'?
Mos1ey replied to Maloney (DayZ)'s topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
You pretty much said no and then agreed with me. xD Anyone can violate the ToS, there's nothing physically stopping you, only your conscience i.e. moral judgement. That's the difference between an advantage and cheating. :) -

Mos1ey replied to Maloney (DayZ)'s topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
Anyone can buy cheats. Again, I'd say fairness is linked more to morality than it is to whether something is available to anyone. -
Nope, they're perfectly legit. They aren't allowed on some servers, in which case it just wouldn't display, but if you find a server that allows them then it's fine.

Mos1ey replied to Maloney (DayZ)'s topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
You could argue that any advantage is an unfair one. Having a better weapon in-game for example, or having a better PC, mouse and mouse pad. 'Cheating' implies dishonesty, immorality and rule-breaking. -
No offence but that's a horrible build, lol. xD

Nothing. I think he just wanted to hear other people's opinions on whether or not it's cheating. -

Discussion. To hear other people's thoughts, I guess. :S -

It's meta-gaming, not cheating. This is a nice idea but I think it would be possible to only allow your VOIP software access to your mic, which would just give an even bigger advantage to the people that knew how to do this as opposed to everyone using VOIP software and being on an even playing field. -
Global bans are issued by BattlEye and effective on ARMA 2: Operation Arrowhead. It's got nothing to do with us. Please contact BattlEye support... http://www.battleye.com/support.html

Sounds incredibly artificial and gamey.

DayZ Alpha won't launch until launched !
Mos1ey replied to [email protected]'s topic in Mod Announcements & Info
That's what they're doing. It isn't ready yet... -
After a bit more digging around the recent activity feed on his YouTube channel is full of comments of him trying to pirate Combined Ops, lol. http://www.youtube.com/user/Tomyla111 My guess is that the key you've found has been added to the community ban list. Any keys you find will have been used by hackers and global banned. Just buy the game like everyone else or don't bother, and if/when you do start playing don't bother with the crappy scripts you found on either of the cheats sites you're registered on, you'll end up with a global ban within a couple of weeks.

DayZ standalone inventory mock-up.
Mos1ey replied to colekern's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
Just to show the basic idea, I guess. Visually it won't look like this but the funcionality will be more or less the same. -
If you set it to 0 it will revert to 1, i.e. 'low'. You can't disable it.

DayZ standalone inventory mock-up.
Mos1ey replied to colekern's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
This is just the version that the programmers made. The inventory and menus and everything are all being redone prior to release, they're still getting the coding working properly at this point. -
DayZ standalone inventory mock-up.
Mos1ey replied to colekern's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
This isn't the finished version, it won't look like this when the alpha is released and they can't change the gear menu in the ARMA 2 mod. The whole point of the new gear menu is that it's easy to use. You literally just click on your jeans, for example, and it opens up the 6 slots (or however many they have) of item storage space in the pockets and then you drag and drop items where you want them.
