I knew the camo and ghillie were from BAF but I always found them to be pretty generic with nothing overtly British about them, whereas the "bandit skin" actually had the bundesflagge on it.

Moved to Suggestions.

Yup, looks like it was recorded in Arma 2 to me.
-
There were some out of place skins in the mod purely because it was relying on Arma 2 for existing player models. I don't remember any British military uniforms but the bandit skin was most definitely German.

This. Even just cans of food, fruit or drink though. It really doesn't take much to convince me to drop the flashlight.

Have you tried running DayZ mod via Steam? I haven't played the mod for a while, but when GameSpy first went down I know that was the best option. -
If you still have hair at all. :D

The SVD has to be added at some point, surely. That would be a travesty...

Settings go from very low > low > normal > high > very high. You should run on mostly high with a few of the more intensive settings disabled on that build.

Anything beyond internal testing. Once a game is released to the public it's a pretty safe bet to assume that someone, somewhere has developed an undetected cheat for it. Whether they're released to the public or kept within the super-secret inner-circle of cheaters to keep them undetected is another story though. In answer to your other questions - you can't. In fact I'd wager that a lot of so called cheaters are wrongly accused legitimate players. I've been accused of cheating in other games countless times and I can assure you that I've never cheater. I was merely replying to your statement "Catching cheaters NOW isn't going to do much when there's new holes in every security update." because I don't agree with it. You can't ban for glitching or possessing hacker-spawned items as both, however unlikely, can be done unintentionally. We can only ban for undeniable evidence sch as anticheat detection or screenshots/video showing ESP cheats.
-
Of course it does. By catching people that are currently cheating, we can punish them, which in turn puts people off the idea of cheating in the first place. 1. Game is released 2. People develop cheats 3. Developers plug holes and improve anticheat detection 4. People develop new undetected cheats 5. Developers plug holes and improve anticheat detection 6. Return to 4 That's pretty much the circle of life in all games. There will always be cheaters and there will always be undetected cheats. The developers just need to stay on top of catching them.

Quoted the wrong post, sorry. ^_^

Your name in DayZ is separate from your Steam name. You can change it at the main menu.

This I definitely agree with.

Birds in trees and fences blowing in the wind. People aren't the only things that make sound. :S

I think all weapons should have a chance to spawn with mags and ammo. They should be rare, but possible to find. IMO They should spawn with a random number of mags between 0 and 3* and the loaded mag should spawn a random % full. *Maybe something like... 0 mags (0.75 probability) 1 mag (0.15 probability) 2 mags (0.07 probability) 3 mags (0.03 probability)

The Troubleshooting sub-forum is for seeking assistance with any technical difficulties that you may be having with the game. Moved to DayZ - PC > General Discussion.

Not necessarily. If someone says "I like X because Y" you're free to say "I dislike X because Z", it doesn't need to begin with an unbiased title like "what do you think about X?". Anyway, like I said take this up with Boneboys if you have an issue. This isn't the place...
-
If you have an issue with the way in which your content then either take it up with that moderator or Boneboys instead of complaining about it on the public forums. On a side note - we don't need separate topics for liking and disliking something. Just the one for debating both sides of the argument will do.
-
Silent gunshots have been an issue for a very, very long time. Hopefully the team will figure out a fix some time soon.

They'll still be able to see the light through the windows. xD

Temperature effects are broken since hotfix
