My DayZ keeps going ''Disco mode'' every 15-20minutes.

I suspect that harteman is correct and your graphics card is overheating and spazzing out. I would recommend checking your temps the next time that the issue occurs to make sure that they are safe for your hardware. Running too hot will cause irreparable damage over time, so it's quite important that you do this. If it is exceeding (or even getting too close to) the max. safe temp then I would recommend giving your hardware a good old clean out. Failing that I would try both updating and rolling back your graphics drivers as I've seen similar issues in other games caused by driver issues. -
The difference is that it isn't directed at anyone in particular in his signature.

Not in DayZ IMO. The lines of sight that are common in DayZ simply don't exist in competitive FPS games, you won't hear that bush-wookie in a tree 500m away until you're dead. ;) Eyes > ears in Arma and DayZ. While I do agree that sound is key in all games, and does need to be fixed in DayZ, I think either your 80% is a gross exaggeration or you are in fact "doing it wrong". Also, this is not acceptable...
-
Actually, up until recently I played CB/ESL/CG in CoD4. Played in a number of teams... Lots of CS and Quake too but not at as high a skill level.
-
If 80% of your game is sound then you might want to rethink the way you play games... :S The in-game sounds will be fixed at some point but with regards to when your guess is as good as mine.

I switched to SSD for Arma 2, 3 and DayZ a while back and I'd say it's definitely worth it. It won't increase your frame rates, but the game feels a helluva lot smoother. You don't need 500Gb though, I'm running my OS, Arma 2 and all expansions/DLC and Arma 3 on a 128Gb SSD.

Hey, the fortified bus worked fine...
-
I'm definitely looking forward to the addition of vehicles but I'd rather they took their time and made sure that we got a better overall vehicle system than that of the Arma 2 mod. I'm interested to see if we'll be able to upgrade vehicles to be more zombie resistant later in development...

If the evidence is undeniable then players can be banned in this manner. We've banned players that have been streaming and/or uploading videos of them playing DayZ using cheats for example, but the evidence must be undeniable. For example "this guy seemed to know where I was" or "I shot this guy a bunch of times and he didn't die" will not cut it. There has to be undeniable evidence. If you have sufficient evidence of a player cheating then feel free to submit it to DayZ staff and it can be reviewed.

The cities are a high risk, high reward situation for a new spawn. On the one hand you can find the vast majority of the things that you need to get started in one place, on the other you risk being brutally murdered and having to start over again. Whether it's worth it is up to the player. Personally I've always just preferred to take the safe option, head inland and gear up slowly on my way north unless I actually spawned on the edge of a city though.

If the devs haven't released an estimate release time then it's usually a safe bet to assume that there isn't an estimated release time. As you've already read- be patient. Locked.

Yup, that's been a hot spot for snipers since early on in the mod. I'd say it was used as much as Elektro's sniper hill.

I believe the current weapon sounds are placeholders.

You can't add a password to your server because that would allow you to have a safe haven to loot in and take your gear into other servers. When private hives are added and you can play on your own server without affecting your main character stored in the hive then you will be able to password protect your server. On a side note - there's nothing here to suggest that you were even killed by a hacker. You probably just logged in next to someone and they killed you before you'd finished loading in.

Moved to DayZ Mod > Mod Servers & Private Hives > Server Owners and Admins

It's definitely an AMD issue. I used to have this problem in Arma 2 with my old HD 6970... Nvidia master race!
-
Silly horse.
-
Because they're violating the ToS and using their server in a way that gives them an advantage over legitimate servers. Once private hives are introduced you will be allowed to play in your own empty server if you want, but it will never be allowed on the main hive.

How are we supposed to play the game right now?

You write your reply under the quote bubble.  -
Realistic Voice Chat (always on) & Better ingame Sounds in general
Mos1ey replied to Randy_Pie's topic in Suggestions
I agree but the vast majority that use Teamspeak or similar for comms would not. -
I agree. Also an "armory" type feature would give the impression that combat is the main focus of the game IMO.
-
Rocket has always said that he would never create a singleplayer version of DayZ. The fact that everything is player driven is what makes DayZ.
-
Just run the mod via Steam, it's much easier. Launch Arma 2 and Arma 2: Operation Arrowhead up the the main menu once each and then run DayZ mod through Steam.
-
No problem Have you tried... 1) Deleting your config files and allowing the game to create new ones? 2) Verifying your game cache via Steam?
-
So people don't complain about not being able to see anything at night.
