dayz starts lagging after playing it for hour or two
Mos1ey replied to [email protected]'s topic in DayZ Mod Troubleshooting
It could be that you're running out of video memory. Try this when your FPS drops... Hold shift and press - Type 'flush' (without inverted commas) and hit enter. It could also be that your system is overheating, have you checked your temps after the FPS drops occur? -
No, you're right, but I like to think that we strive to one day 'fix' these issues instead of ignoring them and creating more. xD
-
LOL! Yeah, mouse smoothing is a pain in the arse. Disabling post-process effects also cleans up your mouse input a bit, if you haven't done that already.

Hey guys just wondering if this laptop will run dayz, I'd rather find out before I get it.
Mos1ey replied to Grayzr's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
Yeah, should run on 'normal' settings. If you have any more questions please use the Can I Run It? topic, which you can find here... http://dayzmod.com/forum/index.php?/topic/64576-can-i-run-it-ask-here/ -
Chernarus will always be my favourite. Taviana is pretty cool too though.
-
I have to agree. Creating DIY attachments and then them appearing on the weapon as military grade versions is a little odd. IMO this is something that would be best left to the standalone unless the community devs are actually planning on creating new models for all of these attachments.
-
TBH I think they should just take up even more space in the backpack than they currently do. If you want to fix up a vehicle you should have to dump all your stuff in a tent so that you can carry the parts, and then a wheel or engine parts or whatever should take up more than half of a large backpack.
-
I wouldn't mind some Steam achievements. I'd like to see things like 'survive for 24 hours (actual play-time)' or 'find a set of night-vision goggles', 'pilot a helicopter' etc. etc. though. Things that are attainable through every play style.

Possible to have two DayZ accounts on the one computer?

What is your favorite troll on DayZ
Mos1ey replied to whitefur22's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
You've been able to respawn if you have broken legs for a very, very long time. -
What is your favorite troll on DayZ
Mos1ey replied to whitefur22's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
99.9% chance he just hit Esc and respawned, lol. -
It is consistant, you just have to aim it as if it were a gun, not a mellee weapon.
-
It's 'Allahu', nab. ;D
-
If it's a dual-core then use =cpuCount=2 and -exThreads=5. The majority of desktop i5s are quads though. If you Google the model then you should find an ark.intel.com page with the full specs including which socket it uses.
-
It depends exactly which CPU you have, not all i5 and i7 CPUs use the same socket. Also, a lot of i5s outperform their i7 counterparts in ARMA, most i7s are just i5s with hyperthreading (which isn't useful for gaming at all). You'd be best off with something like an i5 2500k or 3570k unless you plan on shelling out a small fortune on an i7 3770k or better from the i7 range. And those startup paramaters won't help you at all, lol. Try these instead... -cpuCount=4 -exThreads=7 -maxMem=2047 -maxVRAM=1024 -xp -High -noSplash I'm assuming that you have a 1Gb graphics card here, change maxVRAM to 512 or 2047 or however many Mbs of video memory that you have if need be. Make sure that video memory is set to 'default' in your in-game graphics options too. Also, make sure antialiasing and post-process effects are disabled completely, they eat a lot of FPS.
-
It's a sandbox, it should promote 'do whatever you want'. Maybe in the standalone the fact that zombies are a real threat will make people more keen on teaming up with others though, that's the way it worked in DayZ+.
-
Just because you're friendly doesn't mean other players are. Especially the RDMers that hang around the coast, lol. If you're gonna make contact with someone then make sure you have the upper hand and could easily kill them if need be.

How Will You Play Standalone Without the Mod's Exploits?
Mos1ey replied to DemonGroover's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
I always thought of that as climbing out of the window. xD -
Try the startup paramaters '-cpuCount=6 -exThreads=9'.
-
Forgot to mention - you should also set your video memory to 'default' to make sure it uses all of your available video memory. Glad the rest helped though!
-
Ah, okay. Well there is probably some tweaking that you can do to improve your performance a little. First off disable antialiasing, ATOC, PPAA, shadows and post-process effects, then set everything else to 'normal'. If you set things to 'low' then the game gives them to your CPU to to handle and that's definitely the weak point in your system.
-
Can you post a screenshot of your current in-game graphics settings please?

YAWN...another question like: Will this rig run dayz?
Mos1ey replied to MeowBlackhall's topic in DayZ Mod Troubleshooting
#1 and no you don't have to get an Nvidia card, it's just using Nvidia integrated graphics currently. If you have any more questions please use the Can I Run It? topic which you can find here... http://dayzmod.com/forum/index.php?/topic/64576-can-i-run-it-ask-here/page__st__6180 Thanks! -
Nice idea. I think all the zombies within 200m or so should kind of wander towards the dead player/animal and then attack/eat them for a while once they got there. You'd have some time to loot as long as none heard the shots but you'd have to be quite quick!
-
A decent 3Gb quad-core, 4+Gb RAM and a 560Ti is what I always recommend as the minimum requirements for a 'smooth' DayZ experience so you're pretty much spot on. I'd try disabling antialiasing, ATOC, PPAA and post-process effects and set everything else to normal. It should run fine. As above - if you have any more questions please use the Can I Run It? topic... http://dayzmod.com/forum/index.php?/topic/64576-can-i-run-it-ask-here/ Thanks.
