I dunno, I mean, do they do it for the +1 murder? Or do they just do it to ruin someone's day? On topic: Aren't death messages a server setting? I have a feeling that they might end up being disabled in the standalone.

I'm pretty sure that he's explicitly stated on more than one occasion that he doesn't want skills or skill trees to be a part of DayZ. Skills are already a part of DayZ. Example - I'm a pretty good shot and I'm good at sneaking around undetected, however I'm a terrible pilot. Everyone has their own skills in-game.

Actually the main reason that modding won't be supported initially is to help combat scripters. Personally, I think modding has destroyed DayZ though, it's genuinely difficult to find a populated stock/vanilla server to play on these days. I can't wait to play the old fashioned way again. :) -
Indeed, I'd like to see something RPG or AT-4-esque that occupied the backpack slot as a super-rare military drop for dealing with vehicles.

Indeed, after buying the BAF and PMC DLCs I don't think I could go back. That being said I picked them up in a Steam sale and am not sure I'd pay full price for them just the DayZ textures. -

Not really. I'm playing on disabled/low settings with nearly 100 FPS in 60 player servers, lol. @OP - You should post your current in-game graphics settings.

Yup, I'm definitely looking forward to playing with only the main hive available again. It'll be just like the good old DayZ! :D -
Balota Buddies have a few good servers. Alternatively if you're in EU the AWA servers are pretty good too and run completely stock/vanilla DayZ. I prefer AWA #2 as #1 has no day/night cycle. Both of the above servers require you to become whitelisted before you can play there, it's a precaution that helps keep hackers and other undesirables out.

But then they have to employ staff to go through all of these submissions. BiS are a very small company and the DayZ devs will still be working on DayZ development for the next year or so. -

Well the dual-core CPU and 4600 series graphics card will be struggling, they're quite old now. Your system could quite easily be overheating, have you checked your temps after the FPS drops start? Also, it would be helpful to know exactly which 4600 series card you have. And if you haven't already, make sure that 'video memory' in your in-game graphics settings is set to 'default' to make sure that you're using all of your available memory. -

My thoughts are that he's either overheating or running out of video memory. Need to find his specs first to see which is more likely though. -

I've never accidentally vaulted but my character does love to dolphin dive off the edge of whatever I'm standing on when I want to go prone. -

Initially the game will be completely locked down and not open to any form of modding. Further down the line the devs will think about opening it up. -

Any PC can run Skyrim or Oblivion whereas ARMA 2 and especially DayZ are really hardware intensive. What are your specs and current graphics settings in DayZ? -
Will run smooth at close to max settings.
