As above - it'll run just fine but don't expect to be maxing out the graphics settings or anything. If you have any more questions then please use the Can I Run It? topic, which you can find here... http://dayzmod.com/forum/index.php?/topic/136657-can-i-run-it-ask-here-2/

Tried everything to improve FPS? Look here, from 10 to 50fps!

Currently the plan is to have no side chat in the standalone. I think radios will work as a kind of global chat function once you find one in-game.

Indeed, DayZ Commander uses a lot of bandwidth while refreshing the server list so it tends to display the pings as a lot higher than they actually are. Just refresh one server in particular to see your real ping to it.
-
That really isn't good. If your graphics card was reaching 80+ degrees that would be bad and graphics cards can generally handle a lot more heat than CPUs... I wouldn't recommend playing DayZ or you risk burning out your hardware.

I've had video-game OCD since some time in the mid-90s. You ain't got shit on my inventory management. :D

I'm alright, wouldn't label myself as a 'pro' or anything. I take a lot of risks. The early game gearing up part is my favourite and I play solo most of the time (which means not having to meet up with people) so I don't really have much of a fear of death, lol.

Optimal graphical settings for breaking point?
Mos1ey replied to DannyFilming's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
If you have ATOC enabled I think you'll find it does. -
What is your native res? At 720p you'd more than likely maintain 30+ FPS, at 1080p you'd struggle a bit and drop below 30 sometimes. No, sorry. You probably could 'run' the game, but you'd be struggling with 5-10 FPS and your laptop overheating and it would just be a frustrating experience.

Forests are where AA takes it's toll the most. -
Where is the CD key for Arma II and Arma II OA located?

This should help... http://dayzmod.com/forum/index.php?/topic/32775-multiple-dayz-accounts-useful-for-shared-computers/ -
Optimal graphical settings for breaking point?
Mos1ey replied to DannyFilming's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
Because putting AA and shadows on low or normal puts the load on your CPU instead of your GPU, which is a bad thing for most people. -
I'd say mostly 'high'. That's a really solid CPU, the same one I have actually, the graphics card is a little weaker but it's not as important as the CPU for ARMA.
-
Will struggle by on low-medium settings but it will run.
-
Nope, just keep checking the forums and DevBlogs every once in a while and I'm sure you'll catch the release date before the game drops though. :)

Yes, smoothing should be disabled, also make sure that post-process effects is disabled unless you're running on a NASA super-computer, it 'muddies' your mouse input and throws your aim off. Like dulix said - the best way to improve your shooting is shooting. Play the ARMA II campaigns, play some Wasteland, play some Deathmatch, whatever you gotta do. Just keep shooting, lol.

give us what we (do not) need! - junk and unique loot
Mos1ey replied to joe_mcentire's topic in DayZ Mod Suggestions
I like the ideas in the OP but there should also be more useless 'trash loot' like empty whiskey bottles and toilet rolls. It makes the world and your search for supplies feel more real when you're rummaging through useless crap to find what you're looking for. -
Yes, it will run great. The best way to install is with DayZ Commander... http://www.dayzcommander.com/ Not a bad idea, I'll get on that now... :)

If you could revenge kill the first guy who spawn killed/betrayed you in this mod...
Mos1ey replied to Ozelot (DayZ)'s topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
I've never actually been betrayed. I find the easiest way to avoid betrayel is to trust no one. I was spawn killed once though. I spawned on the outskirts of west Cherno took about 3 steps and was mown down by an AK, lol. Revenge seems like more effort than it's worth though. It cost me about 30 seconds of my time while I reconnected with a new char, lol. No harm done. -
Depends on the CPU. If you go with AMD then you will more than likely have to OC to run ARMA 2 maxed out with decent FPS. If you want to max the game out without overclocking you'd need something like an i7 3770k which really doesn't come cheap.

>Buys from Best Buy. >Expects to be able to stream DayZ. Looks like you got lucky though, it's not actually that bad a machine. If you can afford to throw out the motherboard and switch it for something like an ASUS P8Z77 so you can OC the CPU and put an SSD in there it'll run DayZ pretty well. It's a bit of a guessing game with lower-tier AMD kit as to how well it'll take ARMA but you should be fine on 'normal' to 'high' settings with 30-60 FPS. Maybe if you OC the CPU.

You just use the , and . keys to cycle through the different channels. Side = talk to the entire server Direct = talk to anyone close to you And then either hold caps lock to speak through your mic or hit / to type a message. Alternatively you can edit your controls to allow you to bind a button to 'talk in Direct' to avoid accidentally speaking in the wrong channel, using voice chat in the Side channel is a bit of a faux-pas.

The CPU is just about powerful enough to scrape by on 'normal' settings, it would be helpful to know exactly which graphics card you have though. Please post more info in the Can I Run It? topic if you'd like a more detailed/accurate respone... http://dayzmod.com/forum/index.php?/topic/136657-can-i-run-it-ask-here-2/
