For those still playing DayZ+...
Mos1ey replied to JSparks (DayZ)'s topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
That would be cool. I don't really think it needs any 'new' features exclusive to DayZ+, it'd just be nice if the zombie buffs, loot adjustments etc. were applied to the latest DayZ build. -
Yeah, I had a 6970 before I upgraded to the 780. It's a pretty solid card.

Mos1ey replied to JSparks (DayZ)'s topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
I was a big fan of DayZ+ but I doubt I'll play again now that it's been abandoned by it's devs and fallen behind the official mod in terms of new features. :( I liked that it didn't try to do too much, it just tried to make DayZ a bit more challenging and authentic. It was more of a tweak than a mod, hence the name I guess. -
Well incremental door opening and being able to choose seats sounds cool but what about when there are multiple actions available to interact with a single object? e.g. a dead body (study body/hide body etc.)
-
That's the same machine, lol. But yeah, it should still run on high settings.
-
Might also be worth doing a scan for malware with something like Malware Bytes.
-
That should run fine on high settings, lol.

Okay, I just woke up so I might be missing something incredibly obvious here... But what does this offer that just pressing space to open doors and stuff doesn't do?

Dynamic map objects (a question to dev team)
Mos1ey replied to Andrakann's topic in DayZ Mod Suggestions
I'm pretty sure Rocket didn't want to add above ground base building type stuff because 1) it would mean downloading content on joining a server and 2) after a month or so there would just a tonne of crap and penis structures everywhere. -

DayZ standalone held up by “core network architecture”, no longer has a release date

1) Whitelisting has absolutely nothing to do with modding. Also, one of the main objectives of the standalone is to crack down on cheating, eliminating the need for whitelists anyway. 2) Meh, Chernarus is the only good DayZ map in my opinion. The others seem half finished and inauthentic. 3) We have a suggestions sub-forum here and the standalone is hopefully going to half enough new content on release to keep people happy for a while. I don't really think we need mods for that. :S It's actually a quote from Peep Show, but I think it proves my point nicely. The general public have poor tastes and make bad decisions, lol. The opinion of the majority should be taken with a grain of salt and actually thought through instead of taken as fact. Because the 'saw YouTuber X play DayZ and bought ARMA 2' crowd flocked to the the easy mode servers, admin tend to go with it as it draws more players and the rest of us are kind of stuck with it. This just brings me back to my point of humans being drawn to the easiest path point. There comes a point where you have to differentiate between what the majority want and what is actually good for the game. -
Its Sad that the mods with potenital have 0 population
Mos1ey replied to bozo97's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
Yup, it's impossible to find a populated vanilla DayZ server these days because the masses flock to easy mode servers and the rest are left with 'play there or don't play at all' as their ultimatum. Before private hives and mods of the mod it was difficult to get a place in a lot of 30-40 player main hive servers. Everyone played vanilla DayZ and no one complained about it. -

By the same logic Justin Bieber is better than your favourite musician because he sells more records. People voted for Hitler and buy Coldplay records. You can't trust people. -
Indeed, -nopause causes ARMA 2 to continue rendering while alt + tabbed. Should fix your issue.

I'm not differentiating between user created content and modding. My point was that just because it's good for one game does not mean it's good for another, as has clearly been the case. -

Mos1ey replied to bozo97's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
Because modding is a huge part of ARMA 2 and always has been. User created content is what keeps the games going, whereas modding in DayZ has served no purpose other than the bastardise it and divide the community. Like I said - it's literally impossible to find a populated vanilla DayZ mod server at this point. -
Its Sad that the mods with potenital have 0 population
Mos1ey replied to bozo97's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
Sure, but I don't think the fact that DayZ is a mod for ARMA 2 is relevant at all. Because humans are drawn to the path of least resistance. The fact that everyone plays in easy mode servers makes it impossible to find active vanilla servers, the mod was infinitely better before private hive servers became available. -

Modding didn't ruin ARMA 2, that's the difference. Sure, it opens up a tonne of possibilities. There won't be anyone around to experience them cause they're all playing in the 9,000 vehicle, 24/7 daylight and spawn with a Doom BFG servers though. -

Mos1ey replied to bozo97's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
I can't say I'm a big fan of any of the mods to be honest. They all seem much less polished than the official mod and all they've done is divide the community. I hope the standalone isn't opened up to modding. :/- 60 replies

This.^ You're banned on ARMA 2, not DayZ, so it's got nothing to do with us. Locked.

I'm pretty sure I could help out. I got mad HTML skills. huehuehue.

ARMA isn't a twitch shooter, it's not about muscle memory. The more you play, the more you'll get used to the physics of each weapon though. Might be worth trying Wasteland in ARMA 2 if you haven't already, it's similar to DayZ in terms of scavenging but there's a much heavier focus on PvP so it might be better for improving your aim.
-
It's more than likely a server side problem. I'd recommend just playing on servers where you don't have issues.

I think the A series are a kind of step up from integrated chips but I really don't know, for all I know they could be the AMD equivalent to Intel 3000 integrated chips and so on. Will wait for someone that's more 'up' on AMD mobile hardware...
