Well don't waste half of your time auto-running to where your friends are then... Why don't you just take your time, talk to them in TeamSpeak, loot on your way and meet then in-game the next day? Do you really have to be close to the animated representations of your friends to enjoy the game? :wacko:

They should just add a respawn cooldown IMO. Three deaths in 10 minutes should result in you having to wait 30 minutes before you're able to spawn again

There are currently no plans to allow users to manipulate loot spawns etc. -
Cheating needs to be addressed ASAP. The others won't be until later in development.

Well, I think a lot of these things will be tweaked over time to provide a more authentic experience. For example the effects of weather are exaggerated currently because the other PvE mechanics (disease, infection etc.) are not yet in place. -

DayZ is essentially a survival simulator. A fictitious virus has infected the majority of the population, everything else is supposed to be as authentic as possible. -

I'd like to see more military weapons for the sake of variety. They should all be incredibly rare though. -

Your pristine rotten banana would be exactly the same as it is now. My point was that item conditions should function as follows... Pristine - This item is in perfect condition. Worn - This item will function perfectly, but show signs of physical wear. Damaged - This item will show further signs of physical wear. The function of the item will also begin to be affected. Badly damaged - This item will be even further physically damaged. It will barely function. Ruined - This item is completely ruined and cannot be used. -

This, pretty much. Pristine should be pristine. I mean it pretty much does what it says on the tin. The difference between pristine and worn should be 100% aesthetic and the vast majority of items in DayZ should be worn though IMO. -
Try to sprint > prone > roll, really quickly. It works sometimes if you get trapped inside a room with no door, so it's worth a try.

Optimisation isn't something that can really be done this early in development unfortunately.

DayZ doesn't take place on day 1 of the outbreak. The vast majority of these items would be long gone to 1) the military and 2) looters and the like. -
Bikes didn't like spawning for me... Ever. It really didn't even take that long. My friends are a lot more impatient than I am and even they liked the Kamenka route once we'd gotten it down to the point where we could navigate without using roads. Plus before the great deer stand nerf of 2013 you'd usually be incredibly well geared up by the time you got to the NW airfield.

Kamenka was always my favourite spawn point in the mod... If you just head north you can hit 3 deer stands and a few barns before you get to Zelenegorsk, find a few bits and pieces there before heading on up to the NW airfield.

I think it makes sense for them all to be pretty fast. I always figured that the infection in DayZ was similar to the rage virus in 28 Days Later.

DayZ is supposed to be a survival sim. I think survival should be equally difficult in both "regular" and "hardcore". They should be more akin to server difficulties in Arma IMO, only affecting things like 1st/3rd person, crosshair etc.

I think Comic Sans should become the official sarcasm font of DayZ forums. Maintenance usually takes around 3 hours. Sometimes more, sometimes less.

I disapprove of the poll. Why not have the ability to select a beard on character creation and have it grow?

I'd like to see more advanced ballistics in DayZ. I think you'd see a lot less snipers if it was made more difficult.

The infected are supposed to be more or less brainded as a result of the virus, pretty much only relying on basic instinct. It simply wouldn't make sense to have a peson who is capable of rational thinking controlling one. Also, you'd have people with their friends playing as zombies and teams of survivors and zombies would make no sense whatsoever.
