To me I treat most things in the game as little quirks. So long as I'm not constantly being screwed by hackers or glitches that cause me to die or lose all my gear for no reason I'm happy just treating it like a bit of a laugh. It isn't a full on game after all. It must be me because although I do come across hackers (the annoying, cheating, bastard kind), I don't seem to come across those ones as often as others complain about on here. I mainly stick to German servers though as I get the feeling that most of that seems to happen on the US servers. I'm not saying that's how things are, it's just what I have come to see.

I'm not sure what you'd call it but today I've been coming across a number of quirky goings on. Recently I was shot, no big deal. I'm not going to cry about it like a lot of people do. So today I thought I'd play a few quiet servers to build up some of that loot again. The first server I logged into was night time. As I was in Electro I knew where things were so I just ran between buildings looting. Normal stuff until I came across a fishing boat sitting on its side behind the east fire station. Hackers I assume although I think there was probably only one other player on there. Anyway, I make my way up to NWAF and after a food/bathroom break. I log back into another server, also almost deserted to find that the northern barracks was demolished completely. As I'm after that type of gear I switched to another server only to find I had spawned on the coast again (not after being asked to chose male or female). This sometimes happens but this time I spawned with Mk 48 Mod 0 along with lots of ammo and other goodies, night vision, gps, range finder. All the trimmings. Crazy stuff. So after having a play with my free equipment I just thought I'd try another server to see if it stayed with me. Alas not, I was back to my original player. I've not come across anything else strange but I thought that three odd bits in one day deserved a note. So if anyone cares, that's been my Dayz experience today. Anyone else had stuff like this happen?

As for Terrex, yeah since I posted the thread I've left it a while and it's all returned to the usual loot. Still wondering about the flies following me about though.

Hmm, no it's a personal choice. I tried it and would rather use sixplayer. But thanks for trying to derail a thread, wouldn't it have been more productive to either have some helpful input, or just not say anything at all? Anyway, if anyone has any real input about the original topic that would be great.

Thanks, I know lots of people rave about Commander but I tried it and it just wasn't for me. I guess it's a nikon/cannon type of thing.

So I just started up my six launcher and had an update waiting. Nothing to out of the norm, I update and just wonder what quirky changes the game will now have. This recent one has got me a little worried though. Since this update all the servers I've logged into so far (4) have been loot-less. All I have found are copious amounts of rusty and empty cans or whiskey bottles. I've logged into servers where there are hardly any other players, one or two but still nothing. It's not like someone has just beaten me to it either as the usual amount of loot is there, it's all just useless. Has anyone else been having this problem as well, and if so does it sort itself out? Another little quirk is that since this last update I have this on and off noise following me about as if someone has died near by. You know the noise, the flies. I know it's a survival game and so there probably isn't any hot running water but my player can't smell that much. If anyone has had any similar issues or knows of any fixes please let me know.

Since the last update, whenever I've managed to get in without the "you've been kicked" coming up, I re-spawn in a random spot.

96.4mb's for the .rar file? Is this right? I'm doing this because at the moment I'm on 1.7.2.4 but having no luck with any server version I try. All of them leave me stuck on the loading screen indefinitely. Does this update fix this problem? [edit] I'm using sixlauncher and have no desire to use commander, I tried it but went back to six.

I updated yesterday but only just managed to play. So far, I had the issue of logging in only to find my player not where I left him, instead starting on the coast. Not such a big deal as I still had all my gear. I haven't yet come across any graphic artifacts but saying that I've not been to any artifacts hot spots either so who knows. As for these graphic glitches, even if they do still occur I found that switching to window mode and back again fixes the problem strait away. Because of this I'm not too fussed about it. It'd be nice to not have to but as the solution is that simple, I don't see why people are bitching so much. It's a alpha mod, not an expansion or stand alone. Another thing is that I can't see anything about this humanity rating in my debug list. I'm guessing that's where it should be but nothing yet. My ammo is still resetting too but as this is a plus for me if I have a half empty clip I'm not complaining there. Besides these minor things I'd say a successful update compared to the last one which meant you had to piss about lots just to get back online.

Ah right, it all seems clear now. I'll admit to killing other players but I'm not the type to gear up, then sit and take out anyone I see running through one of the bigger cities. It will help though when spotting a player off in the distance. I'd like to team up but can't play enough to join a clan so seeing a friendly player would help. On the flip side though, they could be freshly killed bandits who have yet to kill enough to re-gain their bandit skin. Still, not complaining like lots of people on here. besides the graphic glitch I love the mod.

What is this hero skin and how does that work then? I've yet to play since the update but read it in the rolling update thread? Is it like the opposite to the bandit skin and if so, obviously the bandit skin you'll get from killing so how would you get this? Personally I doubt having a KOS skin will stop players killing players, it's all part of the game.

A question though, how long does a logged out player last without being played before being deleted? Basically, before I have to start over, or is there no limit?
