    Vehicle and tent inventory wiping

    We lost all the gear in two tents and the storage of our Quad bike yesterday. Now it COULD have been stolen but. One tent and quad bike both lost every item but the quad bike was still there. The other tent was next to a tent full of good gear and none of that was gone, only the random junk in the second tent. And again every item was missing.

  3. Well at some point we are getting 1.7.2 which contains optimisations that may allow more players and more zombies per server. I've been thinking a while about one issue with zombies in particular and that is the issue with them spawning. It gives away player positions. It also bothers me that you can skirt towns and buildings at pretty much an exact range and not see any Z's at all. So my thought was that with the new resources zombies should spawn at a much greater range from the player. Double ? triple ? This will have several effects. Firstly you will feel like there are zombies around all the time making it more "zombie apocalypse". It will make it harder for people to know automatically when other players are around. It will also make zombies less predictable as they will have wandered further when you encounter them. As it stand you watch them spawn in, wait for them to wander off and avoid them. But if you come towards a town and they have already wandered into the tree-line near you ? Who knows :) Finally as a slight modification to their behaviour Id like to see zombies wandering to investigate distant sounds outside their agro range. Currently they investigate close by sounds like direct chat and eating etc. thrown , bottles etc. It would be nice if they investigated distant gunshots and explosions. this combines with their longer persistence would make for much more dynamic gameplay I think. Example: If you are giving your mates sniper cover from the woods outside town. You may not notice some Z's shambling your way from a nearby deerstand, your next shot suddenly results in enraged undead. More danger , more uncertainty. All good in my opinion.

    New Patch Optimisations And Zombies

    Yeah Im aware of the wandering investigation that zombies do. I was suggesting that that is extended so that they investigate load noises in the distance in addition to investigating quieter noises close by. The whole thing is to make zombies a bit more of a permanent, unpredictable feature of the landscape.

    Game is the most fun at the very beginning?

    It's very true. This is why you see a variety of threads calling for a: More "endgame" b: Making it harder to survive. c: Less weapons and ammo. In many ways Dayz is two separate games, the transition occurs when you have rare loot you wan to hang on to, Or you are tooled up with a gang of organised mates.     I think this is the pivotal mechanic this game has been missing. It could single handedly solve KOS, server hopping and endgame malaise. +1

    Shit/Piss System

    Ok firstly this is a great idea, it needs a couple of refinements though. 1: The stress of a situation + your shit/piss level make it more likely to soil yourself in fear. 2: You should be able to examine shit to see what another player has been eating. 3: If you drink a mountain dew and go for a piss, a magic tree grows that has cooked meat as fruit. If you piss on another player they get full blood and are invincible for a short period of time but they glow attracting all nearby zombies. Ill add it to my good suggestions list shortly

    The Yogcast video sure did ruin the community

    I don't thin that the video has ruined the community, the community is pretty horrible anyway lol. However that yogscast video is a terrible representation of the game. It also obviously highlights some of the issues in the game we all no the inventory is hard work. Doing a video like this while in Alpha stage is a terrible mistake.

  20. I hate this kind of stuff, loot maps, vehicle maps, helicopter maps, lol that one makes me chuckle though). The more resources like this you give noobs the less they get out of the game. The joy of discovery, the fear of uncertainty, all the good stuff.

    How popular is this game?

    "I liked it for 5-10 hours. But i realised its pretty empty, and nobody wants to teamplay. I dont play it anymore." But I still spend time loitering the forums to say negative things. lol

    Night time

    I love playing at night, much more atmospheric. But when i join a night server they are generally pretty empty. And then i wonder, how many of those guys have NVG ? Bit offputting to imagine you might be the only guy blundering around in the dark. I suggested that all characters should be synced to a time zone so at some point they HAVE to play at night. http://dayzmod.com/forum/showthread.php?tid=10905 Im also of the opinion that NVG should be removed as I think the dark / light source dynamic is much better for the game.
