No idea about history related to anarchy. But from what I've read a critical point to make it work is the size. "Why we need governments" by Michael Laver He is writing in a way that is extremely easy to understand and his conclusions are making sense in a simple way. Short text that I can really recommend. Sorry for the offtopic Fraggle but you strarted it ;) -

Found a fix (for me anyway) My firewall (Bitdefender) blocked DayZcommander. I Hadn't noticed it since it worked apart from some spesific map downloads.

Wierd thing is some are working for me and some just won't. For example zargabad installs just fine but namalsk just doesn't work with dayZ commander. Still too lazy to do a manual installation.

You are right he didn't post any information, at least none we didn't already know. He put it in the name "not-announcement", he obviously don't want to give out infos. Whatever his reasons are. Well people cried because he didn't give them an update. Now they cry because he gave us a not-announcement. If this is a "shitty way to treat a community" everybody has to decide on his own. I for my part don't care. The SA will come out eventually. I can be paitent. I don't care for announcements what the SA will be like, what I do care for is a good product at the end. -
What's wrong with you people? The OP is obviously new to the game and is stating his opinion and critisism on the Mod. Giving feedback as he sees himself as an alpha tester. A point most people miss. Yet a lot of your responses are defensive and negative. The OP is right: @OP The mod is quite old by now -> most of your points have been adressed numerous times. The offical devellopment of the Mod has been halted and the Standalsone version is beeing worked on. I guess a lot of your points are beeing worked on as we speak. Rocket is listening to the community. And there are a lot of suggestions. When I got my hands on an AS50 for the first time... I really wanted to try it out. I shot some dude with an AK near a hunting shack. After looting I regretted it. He had nothing of value and I felt sorry. I don't consider myself a bandit. That was one of the few kills I made without having a good reason. Also you would get more answers at the general section, or at the survivor HQ :P -

Back in the days the most dangerous thing in DayZ weren't bandits nor zombies. It were doors! Still have the habit to carry 3-4 morfine all the time. I don't need them these days. It's almost sad.

I would like to see a solid DayZ standalone foundation release, maybe with a few freautures in lets say... febuary or even later. I don't care. With a fit rocket enjoying his work. ^_^

A LONG time ago I needed a new name because the one I usually used was already taken at the PSN. And I didn't felt like adding 1234. So I got an english dictionary and randomly opend it. After 4 tries I got to "to link something". Being an old Zelda fan that was sufficient. But since it should be the word "link" and not the guy in green I added "The". Link became TheLink became The2ndLink

There is a saying in german: "Gelegenheit macht Diebe" Translated it roughly means: It's the oppurtunity that makes a thief. That's what I've been thinking about. Let's try and give all the bandits out there the opportunity to actually rob people rather than just killing and looting. I think a key feature to achieve that is to rework the surrender key: * Currently the surrender key needs to be bound in the first place. In the standalone it should be part of the default controls. * *edit due to feedback* Currently you are unable to surrender while holding a weapon. You should be. Equipped Weapons could be automatically droped to the ground. * Full acces to a players inventory, including the weapons he has currently equipped when he is inside the surrender animation. So he can effectively robbed/disarmed. * The surrender animation should be activated with one click and diabeld with one click. (no need to spam the key) * It shoud be possible to use a rope/handcuffs to enchain someone in surrender animation. The player should be still able to run but not be able to use weapons/carry out actions. (Would make a new " bound player" animation necessary) But also lot's of possibilitys, handcuffs with a fitting key, having someone use a weapon to destroy them etc) *edit due to feedback* It was mentioned that beeing left alone enchained would bee a major funkiller for any soloplayers. A possible soultion could be a visible "break free" option. Could be an animation lasting for 5 - 10 seconds? * Having a quick option on someone in surrender animation "disarm player". Strips him of all weapons and places them around him. I think of this animation as kneeing while having the hands on the back of the head. When searching for "surrender key" I've seen mosty topics suggesting having having an animation in which one is holding his hands into the sky while standing (should be able to walk but not to run). I think both of them in combination and the possibily to go from one into the other smoothly would be best. * Also I think it would make sense to apply all those options on unconscious players as well. ^this is everything I could think of. But it's only a start. Tell me if you want it and give some feedback.

DayZ Suggestion - Difficulty Levels

I could never understand why you would want to play DayZ with nameplates and tracers on. Ruins the whole point of the game. However I don't have anything against different difficulty types. If your character is locked to the type. So when you were playing on regular and you join an Expert server you would start a new char. the other ones shouldn't get deleted ofc.
