Interesting idea: Civilized towns
VaultDweller (DayZ) replied to AfterShave's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
What you just said has already been mentioned by Rocket himself. It's called FACTIONS. He will be implementing that in the future. -
Tryng to add ,,Boss battles,, in the world of DayZ is completly contradictionary what sucked players into this mod in the first place. What you're tryng is to put Left4dead/Resident Evil type of game into sandbox style. IMO this is a bad idea for DayZ. Bosses shoud stay in an action/horror type of games.

Character keeps moaning/groaning?
VaultDweller (DayZ) replied to DayZMoe's topic in DayZ Mod Troubleshooting
You do realize that we are in the middle of zombie apocalypse. Damn infection everywhere...can't help it. -
I woud rather focus on the ,,fixing,, the clunky zombies then making them into new skins and models. Let the Rocket fix/smooth out their movements and reactions on better rather then remodeling them.

Nice people still do exist when given the chance
VaultDweller (DayZ) replied to NakaNaide's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
They will always exist, only in smaller percentage. That is my daily DayZ goal. ,,Tryng,, to make some new friends and see how manny ,,true,, survivors are left out there these days. -
If you were going to spend this much, what would you change?
VaultDweller (DayZ) replied to William_Munny's topic in New Player Discussion
You wont be needing any new upgrade in the upcoming 5-6 years thats for shure. That PC is a beast. But,if you are buying it strictly for gaming...then i5 2500K will do the job just fine. However if you are into programming and all then i7 is a way to go. But if the money is not the problem, then the situation is obvious. -
I shot a man in Cherno just to watch him die...
VaultDweller (DayZ) replied to zeroready's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
To brutal for my taste. I woud feel like shit days after that ,,little enjoyment of mine,, So at the end...it doesn't pay of. -
The game will always be against you. No matter how hard you try and come out as a ,,good,, guy it will always get back to you as a brick to the head. It wants you dead, the system is against you,it wants to brake you mentally so you join the bandit or even worse the cold blooded murderer type of players. You ask about an opinion? Well IMO,i was putten into the test few times (like everyone does on the daily basis),mad and angry ready to cross on the line of ,,shoot on sight,, and screwing the survival of the humanity. But the day i became a murderer in this game is the day i will realize that i changed...that i turned into 98% of the DayZ players community. I am on my third month of survival and ALOOT more experianced with a random encounters (no saying ,,friendly,, twice, even if he confirms it i DON'T lower my guard...ever!) I'm mainly a regular survivor and a bandit hunter when the aid of the fresh players and those who need aid is required. I don't make any contacts with the rest of the players unless i am forced to (if he sees me) I woudn't call ,,friendly,, a bullshit. But currently there are 5% of the survivors 40% of the bandits and rest are cold blooded murdere's. Don't your lack of hope make you do the wrong move. Staying on a line of survivor is more challenging, more frustating and more hardcore for me. Won't back down just yet....

What is the point to DayZ, if not to kill players?
VaultDweller (DayZ) replied to Ozelot (DayZ)'s topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
I said this over 100 times. It rly goes down to your personal prefrence. Go bandit , stay survivor or go bandit hunter. The game rly isnt about ,,killing other players,, The game tests you mentaly and eventualy (as i see) breaks you. You collect everything you need and you get overwhealmed by FPS experiance. Need for killing other players. The game is hardcore and incredibly challanging as we know it. But to make it even more challenging you coud simply stay on a ,,good,, side by helping others. Yes it adds even more challange, precation and determenations but that is the point of the game. If i see a bandit going for a ,,noob kill n loot,, il simply blast his head off before he kill the ,,fresh meat,, Or get some new friends, continue surviving, repair vehicles... -
I dont rly see how it isn't one.

Becoming your typical FPS PvP game?
VaultDweller (DayZ) replied to [email protected]'s topic in New Player Discussion
I highly disagree. 99% of the DayZ players think the same way as you do. ,,I collected everything, best gear, best weapon, all supplies stored...what now?,, ,,Well....i guess ill just go on a rampage and start killing anyone i encounter,it makes the game less boring for me,so i guess being survivor after some hours of gameplay just gets over you, everyone turns into a bandit sooner or later ,, ,,Shoot on sight, cuz there isnt anything left to do in this game, right? WRONG !!! It all goes down to your own playstyle. There are manny options after you gather everything you need. (for me THATS the part when the fun is starting to frow) Most common one and what turned this game into ruthless and brutal PvP experiance is simply the same way of thinking after the ,,survivor,, type of gameplay gets ,,boring,, Here is my looking at the situation of what can you do after gearing yourself up to the teeth and run out of ideas. Classic bandit rampage are so unoriginal and uncreative these days, every sec player thinks the same way : Kill on sight, loot, find another target. But there is another option. Continue surviving like you suppost to , start a surviving marathon (days without dying) , be a helping hand (medic) or silent guardin angel (bandit hunter) , its a risky path but also more chalenging one. Make a team, start your own anti-bandit group. This game needs balance, and new players simply doesnt get a shoot of knowing the game before dying over 500 times in the first 45 minutes. DayZ is a social experiment and a mental test game/simulator. (rocket said that himself) It simply tests your limits of how long can you keep your humanity at highest level and keep moving on. -
Are there any true ,,survivors,, left out there? From my recent experiance, all i can encounter are 80% of the hostile players (bandits) Not that i say anything bad about it (that's what keeping this game running mostly,PvP makes it an interesting experiance in the first place, accelerate heart beating and all that) But i mean we all know that quote ,,trust no one,, ,it is what keept us alive in this game so far. Putting friends from the real life watching your back in this game aside, are there any random encounters who made it into the friendship zone? The banditory keeps evolving true this game on the daily basics (especially with new ,,COD type of players joining in,,) It all went down to ,,kill or be killed,, scavange, loot and move on to the next target.

The title of your thread is just to harsh to take anything serious you have said.
-
The answer lies in your last goal : ,,try to make some friends,, In the world of DayZ,that is unfortunatly impossible without some kind of protection (A GUN) Saying ,,friendly,, and him responding ,,friendly,, doesnt mean you two are on the friend zone just yet. The next thing you know when you lower your gard is him putting a few bullets inside your chest. Weapons - SELF DEFENCE. Also your second goal : Making surviving easier ( BY GETTING A WEAPON) Self defence doesnt make you a bandit!
