  1. Will try what you suggested ASAP and report back if it helps. Thanks for the tip. EDIT: I've edited the cfg as per your instructions and set everything to Normal and High in-game, and turned on Fraps to check out the FPS. I spawned at the quarry near Solnichniy. On the coast I was at ~60fps, then went into dense woods just off the shore and was at ~50fps, then sneaked into town (currently looting the residental building in the town's center) and am at 40-45fps. Overall for now your solution helps a lot, the choppyness is gone so far. I'll have to get to one of the bigger cities to see how it will behave there, but regardless big thumbs up for your response. EDIT2: Even in Chernogorsk things run 'smoothly', no choppyness whatsoever. Finally I can strut around town! Thanks again.
  2. Well I noticed by reading few topics on the forums that the game is big on Processor requirements, which I could easily upgrade tbh. But when doing that test provided here, the results showed me passing it with 'flying colors', but the test didn't say what's the info on Minimum Processor requirements, and only said that I have i5 3ghz blah blah, and for all other components it clearly stated what are the minimums, then what I have in my rig, and then came the flashy green arrows and overly positively looking PASS gifs :D Any way of 'fixing' the chopping issue? Is there anyone with a similar spec that doesn't have the chopping issues?
  3. Age : 31 Dayz/Fps Experience: Just started DayZ ~week ago, but finding my way around quite easily. FPS experience: Avid COD player for over a decade, was in several dedicated clans/groups over the years. Why do you want to join?: I love the teamwork/division of tasks, and being the bad guy. The game's dynamic is marvelous, the accent on patience, planning, reading the terrain/map to move around etc. which is the total opposite of COD. Moreover, the sheer size of the Cherna map puts the emphasys on group play imo, so I'd very much like to find a stable group of mature players that are out to cause some mischief instead of rolling alone. On a side note, I had my own TS up until recently for the clan I was in so if need be I could reactivate it. I'm playing on a decent PC (i5, GeF.560, 8gRAM), with a headset of course and 'no fear to use it' if needed :). Where are you from?: Belgrade, Serbia. How often do you play?: I'm on a schedule so I tend not to 'promise' long hours, but usually 3h+/day (ie. I played throughout the last two evenings and nights). Should I find a steady group I don't see myself playing less than 4h/day, so here's hoping I'll become one of the bandits in your team. Cheers, m.e. Reason for editing: My app was a bit 'out there' as I wrote it at almost 7AM after a whole evening and night of DayZ.
  4. Like the title says, I can't see the 'HUD'. No icons for Blood, Thirst, Hunger, Temperature. I fiddled with double zoom-out by pressing "-" twice, and all of a sudden it was gone. I might've pressed something on the NumPad at the same time but so far I cannot reverse the effect. Anyone?
  5. Hm, that came out wrong lol. I tried the Control editing before I even started the thread :D
  6. Nvm, w/e caused it, the issue was resolved after I restarted the game. EDIT: I actually did read the control and didn't find anything regarding turning option on/off regarding the HUD. Can't believe I wasted time doing it tbh, instead of just restarting... oh well.
  7. HeyZ Zombie killers and no-good-sons-of-Bandits, I recently stumbled across DayZ clips on Youtube and I was blown away immediately. So this in a way is a final check before I purchase A2CO to see if anyone can help out by telling me whether or not: 1. The connection is OK for players from Europe (Serbia)? I'm asking this since 90% of the clips on Youtube we're done by US based players, so the ping could go 100+ when connecting to US servers (if I were to cite COD(s) ping when joining a US server). 2. Are there strictly EU servers around, and are they populated? If not, are there any EU players that can tell me how's the ping when connecting to US servers? Many thanks in advance, Kreinz
  8. @crobinho: Many thanks for offering to help out. Will surely give you a shout if I need anything. Hvala puno komsija! :D @Michaelvoodoo25: Yep, I already pretty much decided I'll use the DayZ Commander just by checking out Dayzwiki. It seems straightforward and does the work automatically. Should that ever break down, I'll just manually handle evertything. Thanks for the heads-up though.
