Although clans hording vehicles is very annoying and often pointless. I don't believe hackers are a good way to counter act it. Although I can see where you're coming from. Vehicle hording is a huge issue right now, and most likely if it's a clan server and they own it they will just restart it and lock the server for a small amount of time while they "test" it and take all the vehicles again. So...

Pretty valid points about using a DMR or SVD vs a M107 or AS50. Unfortunately people who use those' long range rifles are few and far between. Mostly because the AS50 and M107 are now just as common as DMR's because of duping / scripting / what have you. And you also have a point about lone wolf sniping, but the argument can be made that if you are up there using an AS50 almost every time you play you're either just not dieing or you have a camp filled with AS50's and other things and we all know what that means. Those high end rifles should be precious and rare and so should the ammo, and shooting people you may not even loot should be almost unforgivable since you are using something that requires a lot of hard work to replace (or should atleast). That is where the area gets messy, there is no way you are up there above cherno/elektro most of your play time and dieing then getting another AS50 or M107 right away again, it just doesn't seem like that is the way the game should work. Unlimited resources lead to everyones bordum. -

So now you have changed your entire argument from "Praise me for sniping noobs" to "I'm just being a bandit by game mechanics" then this entire thread and your original post is moot. I already explained that the people running through cherno (as in the bandits running through cherno) are the ones providing some suspense and excitement for new spawns. Yes there are a portion of players that still run to cherno and elektro even though they are experienced but do you really think they are the ones sticking there head out so you can pop it off from the hills? No, they are not. They know the sniper angles and avoid that shit which is exactley why sniping outside those big cities gets you newb kills, BECAUSE THEY DON'T KNOW. And while were on the topic of bandit / survivor / hero, why don't you see hero threads on here about a REAL minority that should be praised for doing what so little do in game. Coming across people and healing them, bandaging them, taking med requests, and trying to avoid un-needed conflict. Since they are the severe minority that makes for a very interesting experience in game shouldn't we be praising them? Why make a thread saying "THANK GOD FOR BANDITS OR WE"D BE BORED" when half or more of the population are shoot on sight bandits. The point you were trying to get across doesn't exist, the game is full of you people. Yeah it would be boring if no one killed anyone it would be for sure, but it would be a hell of a lot better if everyone didn't shoot at everything they see. And I guess that is why people take offence to you posting a thread like this. Because it's insane seeing as how much of a problem high end duped geared bandits shooting on sight and camping noobs are. It's just fuckin silly that you would even bring it up. You want praise for taking the easiest possible route in the game, come on man. Oh and you know why people are calling you a murderer and not a bandit? because up until this latest patch the bandit skin was disabled and people judged others by how they play not by some little in game bar that gives you a different skin based on easily exploitable actions. I don't give a damn if you have a hero skin or survivor skin, if you sniping newbs in cherno im going to call you a murderer cause the shoe fits not cause some poorly implemented skin changer in an alpha tells me to, but because that's how you are acting. Basicly my point is this. You do what you wanna do in game, you have that right, it's a sandbox. But don't come up in here all like MAN THIS GAME WOULD BE SO BORING FOR YOU GUYS IF I DIDN"T SHOOT NOOBS FROM A MILE AWAY IN CHERNO, cause ya aint foolin no one. Sorry if I came off rude btw, good gaming. -

Sniper rifles are not the problem. It's the fact that they are used almost solely for pointless killing of newly spawned players. Oh and the sheer number of them because of duping. -

You are so full of shit OP it makes me actually sick. You think you're creating a suspenseful enviroment by camping the 'known' newbie big citys by shooting them with a rifle that you most likely only have cause it was duped in, from 700+ meters away? But just incase you're not trolling and think you are some legit bandit, let me break it down for you. You spawn as a new player and run to a big city, to scavenge and survive the zombie apocalypse. You most likely have limited knowledge about the controls, or even what weapons are in the game, or how to pick them up and use them. With hundreds of unique players each day these are the people you are shooting. You are not teaching them suspense or anything of the sort. If you were a real bandit after real gear for real survival you'd be killing when it matters. Players already have plenty of suspense in large citys with other players trying to loot the same location too. It's a hotspot for close quarters suspenseful combat if it isn't being camped by f4ing snipers. If you really want to create some kind of suspense why not get down in there with your pistol and take on some of them newly spawned players, them seeing you decked out in gear coming at them with the risk/reward of either facing you and dieing or running off scared. Or better yet why not camp NW Airfield where the end game players are? Ya know the ones that have sniper rifles and thermal and stuff to add some suspense FOR YOU. You know the guys who actually need the difficulty increased. End game gets boring as hell and you're praising yourself for making the opening most challenging part of the game even more frustrating, get outa here. You are exploiting the newly spawned players and that is it. 99% of the people you are killing have no chance to avoid/see/retaliate or even know whats going on. I respect true bandits who kill and loot the body for useful stuff. The guys who don't alt f4, don't camp cherno for newbs, and play in the end game locations with end game gear. Ya know the real bandits? Not the murderers like yourself who camp new spawns for the thrill of shooting what basically equals the same thing as shooting a goat or cow in the field. Good day to you. -
I have been playing DayZ now for almost 2 months. It has been a blast to say the least, and recently some glitches that seem somewhat specific to certain servers have been getting on my nerves (some servers constantly spawn me in debug plains when I log in). I usually just jump on the lowest ping server when I log in but this has lead to some troubles. Now I'm just looking for a server to call 'home' for me and a couple IRL friends I play with. Something with a pretty stable medium to low pop so hackers aren't as prevalent. Also it seems that a lot of servers are clan dominated in that they have horded most if not all vehicles to one single location, if I could find a server that wasn't heavily clan dominated that would be cool to. So does anyone have any suggestions for a few survivor friends? maybe a server you frequent? Also I live in atlantic canada (hour ahead of EST), so ping may be an issue for certain servers. Thanks!

I missed the last one as my 4 month old son was having none of my wanting to play DayZ that particular night! :( -
It has definately changed the game for me, I haven't been shot since the latest patch since I automatically had the hero skin when I spawned in. People trust me, and depending on if they have a scarf I give them some trust to. No one gets total trust in this game and the skins are exploitable but make no mistake I shoot the scarf face on site and I will never fire first on a hero skin. So far only deaths by random bugs :)

What was your most annoying/worst death in DayZ?
gambles replied to Pureevuls's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
Spawn in, "gambles has died" in plains with nothing, D/C rejoin different server. Sitting on beach with not even a backpack. Didn't even get the excitement of watching myself die or knowing someone was taking my loot, just striped because of a bug. Not killed...but moise well have been. -

What in the BLUE HELL was "liberal?" like...wtf. -
After a lot of bugs and telling people it's alpha this is the one bug that may make me give it in on DayZ. When you load in and it says "Gambles has died" then I'm in what appears like the debug plains, with absolutely nothing. For dupers this may be a slight set back but as someone who trys to play by the rules this is just awful. It's by far worse then broken bone first hit, graphic glitch, all of it. It takes away everything without even giving you the adrenaline rush of being hunted by a bandit, or the chance to escape from a scripter. It's just a reset of everything you have achieved in that period for no other eason than buggyness :( Le Sigh!

Lol at blind. You should quit games. They are all useless to you. Games have been some of my best memories with friends and have possibly kept me from doing other things that could be hazardous to my health. Useless lol -

A few major set backs is one thing, this has happend on 6 seperate occasions since the latest patch, I should have pointed that out in the original post sorry. Thick skin is one thing but no progress is another. And as for quitting and coming back after release, I thought that is what I pretty much said in the original post ya know "the bug that may make me quit" yeaaaahh that one. -

Maybe not yours but some people prefer to play a challenging game, there for make rules such as "I will not exploit the game and ruin it". Should try it, sometime :). -
Not bannable to wear the soldier suit, but wouldn't advice advertising it for trade on the official forums... ya know.

Isn't that just the regular clothing, which would make it appear like you didn't change at all?

Odd that you don't get humanity by killing bandits
gambles replied to [email protected]'s topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
I don't believe that rocket had planned on the shoot on sight sinking in so deep. Or that everyone would just turn to banditry because they want to play the game as a deathmatch. This game is going standalone and has to have some apeal to atleast a decently wide audience. As far as what rocket once having a slightly different skin when your good/bad is HARDLY destroying his goal. Infact it may be a bit more realistic, people who shoot people on sight in real life or kill people for fun are generally pretty screwed in the head, that cant be translated into game so we get a slight model change. Maybe people should be playing the game as though they would in a zombie apocalypse instead of playing say deathmatch classic in cherno. 2 pennies right there! -
Dayz Former Hacker Story And AMA
gambles replied to Murdoc1234's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
Hackers are so prevalent in this game it's insane. I won't even throw you any flack, honestly when I see a hacker spawn a heli infront of me and fly off all I can think is "thank god he didn't nuke the server". I realize there is no avoiding hackers so I guess if you're gunna leave me be or somehow attempt to help me that's better than killing me and/or everyone on the server. Which is kind of sad, because I like this game. However I have never in all my years of gaming seen a community with such a large portion of it cheating (a ridiculous portion is you include duping as cheating).
