    To anyone thinking of hacking

To me, it just doesn't add up on any level. Of course anyone who comes on the forums and spouts that is a bandit trying to poke at the other side, it wouldn't make sense. Think about it. What is in the game for carebears or people who don't thrive on the pvp side of the game? Scavenging and Surviving. What is in the game for people who thrive on the pvp aspect of the game? Killing and Military Weaponry. What does hacking do? It takes away the scavenging and surviving aspect all together and gives you killing ability and end game military weaponry. What you are suggesting, that carebears would be the most likely culprits, doesn't make sense.

    To anyone thinking of hacking

Hey, not one of these guys that act all tough and rugged online is near what they make out. People often use the anonymity of forums to try to make themselves feel more powerful than they actually are, it's a sad sight indeed because they don't know that we know ;)

    To anyone thinking of hacking

I actually said this same thing right in that thread. With a generation of internet tough guys around here, bronies are always welcome lol. Also laughed at the guy claiming carebears are the ones who hack. Yes...the ones who have problems with shooting people are the guys scripting in weapons to kill people and thunder doming and teleporting to kill. Yeah that makes sense...

    Is Rocket actually Bear Grylls?

I honestly prefer that surivorman guy, he's damn hardcore, he even carries his own cameras.
  6. Vicariously I watch as the whole world dies.
  7. All true but I'm willing to take a guess and say that Rocket knows this but doesn't think its a big deal. Or he doesn't realize that people who don't frequent the forums and just tried DayZ and seen the environment and said hell no. These people won't be purchasing the standalone, I know I wouldn't if I didn't frequent the forums.

    Crossbow bandit

Had my hopes up when I read the title. Then realized it was a kid laughing while shooting bambies, while they stand still. I am disappoint.
  9. Well with the DayZ standalone now on the horizon and set to be released sometime this year. I have read lots of suggestions from people on what they want to see added to the game. I'm just wondering what most peoples "1 thing that needs to be added" is. For me it is by far the spawning of the zombies. Which I have heard little on so far. At the moment zombies spawn when you get close and after you kill them more spawn right where those same zombies spawned from usually. Sometimes they even bug out and spawn infinitely. I'm not exactly sure what the best course of action to take would be. But I would like to see at the very least the timers be put down to something reasonable so you feel like you have accomplished a bit in taking out a few zeds before the next horde that heard you moves in. Ideally I guess it would be cool if you took them out silently, like from a distance with the sniper rifle or with a melee weapon that zombies wouldn't spawn again until you made a racket or started firing off your gun in the town. If this was to be implemented though I would really like to see zombies become more dangerous in that they hit harder, but not with some cheap broken mechanic that breaks your leg or causes you to insta-bleed every second hit. Edit: Maybe the timer could be set down on the spawns but the longer you stay in the city the bigger the wave of each spawn becomes, like you are attracting more and more infected. I just feel as if most of the time now the best course of action is not to sneak in past the zombies, or kill them from a distance. Basically the best thing you can do is run through them and loot then run out and lose them in the trees. Which seems like something I would NEVER do in a zombie apocalypse for fear of my life, unfortunately it is the best way to go about it. What are your thoughts? What is the 1 thing you need to see changed/added to the DayZ standalone? (Stopping the hacking doesn't count, we all need that ;))
  10. I see a lot of good ideas in here like the zombie population theory, I hope that Rocket still frequents the forums :).
  11. I do believe when people act a bit as if they would in real life, that is does breath a lot of fresh air into the game. Unfortunately people will keep meta-gaming and playing the game as a deathmatch because it is how they interpret being a gamer. Some people just can't see a game as anything more than something to be exploited for everything it is worth.
  12. I think banning might be a bit harsh as there are people who pick up these guns and don't frequent the forums. But a warning system that kicks you as soon as you have one in-game would really help this. "You have been kicked and warned you are carrying an [AS50 TWS] this is a hacked in weapon" enough servers start doing this and people will catch on when they can't frequent there favorite servers and start dropping them (I hope :)).

    Concerning "Hating Bandits"

Thing is, I don't think that is what Rocket intended. He has said in many interviews that he didn't understand why killing of new spawns was happening quiet as often as it was (probably because he saw it as just griefing, like most) and that's part of the reason why he took away the pistol, so there would be even less incentive to kill a new spawn. He actually did it to protect, not harm,. And I also don't believe that the game wasn't made for you to make friends outside of it and then betray that friendship or exploit it until you lose them. I don't think a game should ever be made that way because it's kind of disgusting, this is after all, a game. But if that is the way you think and play the game, that is all you buddy. It;s your choice to play the game how you will and there is nothing I or really anyone else can do to stop you from playing this game anyway you damn well please. But don't be upset or angry when someone calls you a dick for crossing that line.
  14. Maybe you shouldn't server hop while sniping cherno with an AS50, maybe Rocket implemented an Anti-A-Hole mechanic that takes a dump on you every time you try this.

    Concerning "Hating Bandits"

Well I did kind of specify that a majority of them do what you say. But I have, in my time. Come across bandits who didn't bother shooting unarmed players and didn't alt-f4. I absolutely agree with you though, they are a rarity, I guess I'd just like to think that more of them exist than the few I have encountered. Edit: Also I play as a hero and I VERY MUCH agree the game needs more hero's and medics that don't shoot on sight. But with many bandits playing the way they do, I believe survivors think they have been backed into a corner and it's either shoot first or die.

    This game. THIS FUCKING GAME.

The chance of being shot on sight by a hero is only reduced not completely negated, especially if you are wearing a bandit skin.
  17. Too many wolves, not enough prey.

    This game. THIS FUCKING GAME.

Brilliant! It's good to see you're having some memorable moments in this game and you met a true hero :). Love hearing about these stories and on behalf of us friendly hero's thanks for not shooting the one you seen when you realized he was friendly!
  19. I use to play eve, you can play for weeks on end and never even risk death and have little to show for you're time in game, it takes a looong time to get up there. You can play DayZ for a few hours and most likely have risked death on multiple occasion and if you're very lucky obtain some very good gear in a relatively short amount of time. Playing DayZ straight out for 3 dayz and you have been going at it pretty hardcore. Play eve straight out for 3 days, congrats, only 6 more months to go lol.
  20. Different game, different value.
  21. Exactly, at the same time though I don't think deer stands and tiny little villages should endlessly spawn zombies. It works both ways I guess, but good idea.
  22. recommend you checkout frankie 1080p for lot's of enjoyment and great quality/editing.
  23. scroll over it. You will see Repair Left Front, Right Front, middle (ignore all middle ones keep scrolling down) you will eventually get to back left and back right. The middle wheels and stuff are for the bigger trucks/buses or something with more than four wheels.
  24. I'm with you on that, more customization really helps me 'care' more about my character. Would also add a lot of depth to meeting people who didn't look exactly the same as you.
  25. Yup more sand in the box would definitely add to the games longevity. Which also seems to be one of Rockets main concerns as he wants to introduce an underground base system which would mean near limitless possibilities for communities in game. Everything from rival clan wars to opening up your underground base to the populace. One change I am definitely excited for.
