Found 3 of em in the back of a uaz as soon as I spawned on a server grabbed them and then was misteriously kicked from the server. Unfortunately I wasnt using commander and cant remember the damn server I was on. In game browser for the loss. Anyway I'm pretty well sure they are hacked in but screw it im gunna wear one anyway cause it looks sexy. Haters gun hate. Seriously though... why so many hackers? :(
-
I agree with you, I'm kind of morally off the hook with the clothing in my mind though as it doesn't really serve as an advantage to me, as a ghillie suit is still waaay better for camoflauge. I'm just rockin it cause I like the look :) no doubt I will be called a hacker haha, probably by my buddy when he logs in too!
-
could you describe the moan? is it like a gentle "errruuhhh" or more of a heavy "aaaawwwrrrrr"? What? I'm just curious O.O
-
Actually I found out that any clothing I put on dupes whatever backpack I previously had on and took off (as I always take it off before putting on the clothing) so for me this suit duped the patrol pack I had on -_- le sigh.

Just took this screencap of myself while strolling through cherno in my new gear.

Aww I just got killed again by having a car seemingly teleported on me while sitting in the forest. I let out a sigh. Even though I should be use to it by now. Any survivors out there with relatively good experiences on certain server(s)? I tend often to not stick to one single server as when I play I usually join the one with the lowest ping from commander. I guess this lends to me getting smacked by hackers a lot more then some people. So can I get a few suggestions up in here for servers that seem to be struck by hackers maybe a bit less frequently?

A big thank you to those who make the game playable
gambles replied to Sula's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
I sincerely would like to thank every person who plays this game and doesn't hack. Bandits and survivors alike. Lately, as I grow to learn more and more of the game and die less to bandits and zeds, the bane of my dayz life has been hackers, so..so many of them. Thanks to everyone who doesn't and thanks a million times more to the admins kicking the hackers, and thanks infinity to those people screenshoting and recording these hackers and reporting them. Thank you all :). -
I know on any server i've joined recently I could swim without losing things.
-
Well I recently came upon a satchel charge in a barracks, as it's really of little to no use for me I would like to trade the thing before a bandit kills me and I lose it anyway lol. I don't really know how much it's worth just that it's really rare? so I'll list some things that I want / don't have. NVGs Rangefinder + Good Sniper Rifle L85A2 AWS Coyote Backpack M4A1 CCO SD MK 48 Mod 0 So if ya have some or any of these hit me up we may come to a deal :) Also I have a ghillie suit I may want to trade if needed as well. Thanks! PS: No Bandits Plz :)
-
Honestly I laughed when people said it's just un-hackable because its private yet it was started on reddit, I mean if I WANTED to get hacked I would list my server on reddit. So maybe there is something to it? or maybe not. Either way I'm not comfortable with the state of hackers in this game as is and with no plans or even any idea as to how to stop them (we are told) I don't know why everyones acting snobby towards the OP. If it works for him good on em, but I fail to see how it would NOT get hacked if it was posted on REDDIT come on now...think.
-
I suppose the only thing that worries me is that they say they can't do much about the hackers. Which means the future is bleak for the mod but a standalone could go much further. I agree with the OP on this, but I will keep playing the alpha because I enjoy it and want to help with the standalone :)

Been on this server too, many hackers.

[AURA] Clan Recruiting New DayZ Members
gambles replied to Shadowfray's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
In game name: Gambles Location: Atlantic Canada Steam name: Gambles Experience: 3+ Weeks Age: 23 When Available: All day everyday pretty much. Lots of free time for the nest couple months... Additional information: I'm a good guy :) friendship means a bit more then the loots to me. -
Hey I'm looking for other friendly survivors to play with, and maybe possibly start up some kind of small clan or group. I have been considering joining a clan pretty hard but finding one that actually sticks to there own rules and doesn't have an already established click within them can be pretty difficult. I live in atlantic canada, so my time is ahead of est by 1 hour. I'm 23 years old, I'm on all hours of the day and night cause I'm currently laid up so lots of time for gaming. I'm looking for like minded people that don't shoot everyone they see on sight, especially newer players. I've racked up 450 zed kills with 0 murders, and will only kill to save my own life or that of another deserving player. I have vent/teamspeak/skype/etc. Would really like to get a good group of guys going around protecting the innocent and purging some of the bandit scum ;) Skype- justin.dawson9 Steam- Gambles

Thanx for the helicopter eval in cherno

Always nice to see some people aren't bandits. -
Depends entirely at how you look at the game I think. If your ultimate goal isn't loot but making friends in game to improve your over all experience then giving a little trust will almost always work out. Just be sure you find someone who is on that same wavelength, I'm not out for being the best looter in the game by any means and when I play with people and we stumble upon that crashed heli I'm the guy that doesnt immediately run up and claim the sniper rifle or machine gun. Because of this I usually get a long with people (even people I just met) because they know I'm not a greedy bastard whose just using them for protection to accelerate my progress. I'm in it for survival and friendship, and that can make all the difference in the world. Give a little, and get a lot.

If anyone is interested I have two others added on skype now, so post your skype or send it to me.

This game is going to shit if we dont do something soon
gambles replied to ZERQER's topic in New Player Discussion
You are totally and completely 100% wrong on the point of a game never turning bad and never changing. The community can/will/has a huge impact on if this game continues to thrive or fades slowly off. Players in this game have EVERYTHING to do with the game, players in this game MAKE the game. I believe you are either playing a different game or should be playing a single player one, because to me that is a totally absurd comment. Community and how it behaves in game can and has broke games. -
Hey, I'm Gambles. I'm a survivor, you may have seen some post's around the new player forum I have made recently. I'm still relatively new to the game but I have picked up pretty well on it and I am not only surviving but surviving without shooting people on sight. I also go out of my way to run up along the beach and find players that are new to the game and help them how I can, whether it be finding weapons or figuring out how to turn auto-walk off. I've haven't died in a long while now, I have had some close calls and have to avoid hostile players like the plague. But I've made some great friends by playing the way I do, which to me is far more valuable than any loot I could ever pick up and lose. I often travel with BigDutch my IRL friend. He is a bit more aggressive but has fallen into my ways of asking questions first and shooting later. We are cautious, it's pretty easy to spot a hostile player in a town, or a player who neither needs nor desires your help. We have even gone so far as to incapacitate hostile players and yell to them we are leaving morphine on the ground before we run off. It has been a really great experience. Some people are so surprised to see us behave in such a way, I hope it inspires them to play a little differently to. I guess the point I'm trying to get across here is you don't have to listen to the people who say "shoot on sight or die". Just be careful, be aware, and help those who you know need it. It may put a smile on your face and you may even come to enjoy it more then looting NW Airfield, as I now do. Maybe karma has granted me the ghillie suit ;).

Although a bit unrealistic and atmosphere breaking, it would certainly add to the in game community "if" heavily admin'd. I believe maybe having it as an option wouldn't be so bad.
-
Aww I wish I had ran into ya too! but don't give up and when you're far enough a long that you can help someone else out, don't hesitate. I really believe with enough people doing this the community can change into something better and more mature :)
-
Good to hear of bandits not camping the hills of the coastal city's with high end sniper rifles picking off beginners. Even though I'm a big care bear and a ask questions first shoot later type of guy, you have my beans because you're a bandit. Not a murderer.

So what do you think is the stupidest thing about this game that you have seen.
gambles replied to alsparagus's topic in New Player Discussion
This, the game is in alpha and VERY playable as an alpha game and very fun at it's core. The deathmatch community with no sense of "build the world yourself" may just continue to make this game a deathmatch. No longer about killing for survival but killing for killings sake, nothing tops the stupidity of this. So sad to see a community with no sense of "community". This game could be so much more with players oraganizing and enforcing there own rules in towns, hunting down bandits, working together, and killing for the sake of survival. Oh...what a game this could be. -
HELP ASAP! New player our server was teleported and I am screwed.
gambles replied to Butteredtoast's topic in New Player Discussion
This has happened to me a couple of times, it worries me to see so many hackers in such a new game in alpha stages. Hopefully Rocket cracks down? -
I'm going in! Say hi if you see me, fellow noobies!
gambles replied to Sula's topic in New Player Discussion
Welcome, and don't let the murderers/bandits get you down. Keep your morals and keep on being friendly :)
