    DayZ Build 1.6.0 Rolling Update

    You guys talk about how he wants to evoke emotions. And let people think twice about what they are doing playing this mod. But as far as i can tell since this new patch there haven't been any of those things. Its just like any other game now ''Ah shit i died oh well respawn and try again'' Thats the kind of feeling i have now which i didn't have before this patch. Rocket wants to reflect real life situations into this mod. Thats how i interpret his goal for this mod. But he purposely destroyed that with this patch in my honest opinion. .:14A41:.Pvt.p4lztZ: I am a loner myself in the game. And i liked being a bandit. But right now everyone is a bandit and can shoot who ever the fuck they want without real purpose, maybe for the sake of killing or just because they can now. I liked the mod because it gave the thrilling feeling when you meet up with people to see what their intentions where you where always cautious. But for me thats gone now since everyone can just be a bandit or turn around and be a friendly person.

    The More i think about it. The more i feel that Rocket is not going to achieve what hes trying to do. No matter how you look at it this mod will always be just a game. So people act like that as well as if its just a game. Hence why people just dont care about survivors or bandits. Theres less and less groups forming because there is no goal about being good or bad just survival. The feeling you had when you saw a player and shouting in chat FRIENDLY OR NOT ? Is just gone. I didnt have that sort of feeling in a long time with a game since this mod. And thats gone now since the 1.6.0.1 patch. The best thing to do now. Is completely remove all weapons you start with. Make it harder to find weapons. So that people will have to team up again. Being a loner in a post apocalyptic world is just not real as far as i know.

    OK so this new system without the bandit/survivor thing. Is messing up the balance between players. Right now everyone can be a bandit without any consequences. Ive got shot more in the last couple hours than i have been in the last couple days. And most of the reasons are simply because they can now and they just want to know what kind of loot your carrying instead of asking they just shoot. Imho bring back the bandit/survivor system it was way better balanced. You had a fighting chance. And there was the suspense of being friendly or not. Right now that feeling that you get when you spot someone is just gone and its simply kill or be killed. Theres no value to it anymore. This mod took a turn for the worst it had something going for itself but clearly its going to be just another one of those mods. Shame.... i had high hopes for it.

    Guys Rocket can say what he wants. We all bow down to him as hes the developer. If he says jump we jump if that makes him finish the patch sooner. Eitherway he sets a date that he says the patch will be finished but the thing is. He can run into all kinds of trouble trying to fix some problems. So get off your high horse and just wait it out. And let the man have some time for himself as well to drink all them tears you guys are shedding off cuz the patch aint done yet..

    Celsius is much more common than fahrenheit. Its usually just Americans that use fahrenheit as far as i know. So yea +1 to keep the percentage. Alot easier to read for everyone.

    Sir Rocket Balboa. Will the M107 that people now have in their inventories you know the one that takes up the extra slot be replaced with the one that does not take up the extra slot ? Considering you fixed the M107 with the other M107_DZ or something. Id like to know if this would be the case.

    Rocket, Will the M107 that takes an extra slot be replaced by the M107 that does not take an extra slot. If people have one of the M107's that take up that extra slot. Because i found one today, together with a M240 in the same room.

    Rocket will the pitching a tent and tent not properly saving after a server restart or crash be fixed in 1.5.9 and will the not being able to fix the car bug also be fixed in 1.5.9 ?. Also earlier today i logged out a couple times but each time i came back i ended up unconsious for 3 minutes. No blood loss, no pain (shaking) or anything just unconcious.

    I have FPS problems when zooming in on certain things. Its mostly on cities though. But i had that back at 1.5.6 as well.

    Several suggestions.

    - Detachable silencers, flashlights, scopes. - Raincoats, ponchos. - Change flashlight into one of those map, compass, watch slots. Right now a flashlight takes way to much space in a backpack or as secondary replacement for handgun. - Melee weapons, axe, shovel, golfclub, katana, baseball bat etc etc. - Exploding zombieheads when they get hit in the head. - Thermal goggles. (Shows body heat but not zombies they would remain dark instead of bright) - Fishing rods, to fish for trout, salmon or what ever. (and cooked on fire) Im sorry if these have been suggested before. I could not find any threads through the search engine for it. Or might have overlooked it.

    Gah i was practically running around like a mad man in Cherno earlier today with my M1911 ganking every frickin zombie i saw. Then i ran into the church and got shot with 1 bullet from a winchester by some random guy. Btw humanity is gone. Yet i still see people turn bandit skin and survivor skin. Whats up with that ? Shouldnt it be everyone same skin?

    Ive got some concerns about the new features. - How is it possible to have temperature drops, when you are running. - The drop rate of temperature is unrealistic. - The wood should take up 1 slot. Because you have to carry a shitload of it if you travel around alot. (which basically is the point in this game and now everyone is camping out in the big cities near the coast. Because travelling became harder now) - The new inventory system is fine but it conflicts with the chat bug, button bug. (Button flash when you shift + tab to Steam overlay. Sometimes shift tabbing works to fix it or it doesnt fix it and you have to alt tab completely out of the game. And in some of my cases even restart the game) - Wood is still very rare up north. - I looked for antibiotics did not find any of it anywhere. - Winchester pellets might have been overpowered against players. But for the running zombies they where perfect. Other ammo is simply idiotic to use seeing how sometimes the servers lag and you simply cant hit the zombies. Plus other shotguns still have pellets so why not the winchester. My personal opinion. I do not like the new features. I think its taking a turn for the worse with the new temperature thing. But it can be adjusted to fit right into the rest of the mod. The inventory is fine but takes getting used to. A bug i have found: When you sometimes switch for a weapon you found on the ground the old weapon disappears together with all the ammo. It wont drop on the ground or into your backpack or anywhere else.

    All vs All is kind of the point i think. You could still have a survivor / bandit system. But the skins/clothes where to obvious for that. Just a teeny tiny change in the skin to distinguish a bandit from a survivor would be better. Basically the skins would look the same but up close theres a small difference to distingish someone from survivor or bandit. Be it colour change or hat worn different doesnt matter. Just a tiny insignificant feature to the skin/clothes. This way you would still have this balance because people are always curious. And you actually have to get upclose before you realize who is bandit and who is survivor. Perhaps this would increase the interaction between players as well.

    God complex ? haha I always wished for something more raw than STALKER ever was. And i think ArmA 2 DayZ is exactly that. Eitherway this is exactly why i love this mod you made Rocket. Nothing is ever the same. The only constant in this game is the map. Every other situation is unique and plays out differently be it with zombies or players or both. The most funny situation i had come across. Was a guy in a medium sized town running down the intersection in the middle of town towards the ocean. And i was standing on the road parallel to the ocean. And he had 20+ zombies chasing him. I could not stop laughing. Seriously one of those loony tunes moments. Tried to help the guy but zombies ate his brain. I killed off the zombies and looted his dead corpse.

    It should not decrease your blood level if your a bad guy. Thats just unrealistic and not what Rocket is aiming for as far as i know. Same goes for the idea Sata3D had about the higher level humanity u got the nicer the skins you can wear. Its not an RPG game where you have to level up to get better stuff. Its a survival horror. Where you have to scavenge for anything you deem usefull. Be it weapons, food or them fucking annoying empty tin cans. Its up to you and not up to your level or rank. Its hard enough as a bandit already to stay alive. Considering he would have survivors, bandits and zombies chasing him. And decreasing his blood level or any other kind of vital component doesnt do it justice. Ive managed to stay alive for 8 hours now since my last death and get out of -20k humanity (currently at +392) and it took me 5 days. All because i had to kill the 5 survivors that shot at me first. Everyone is equal in this game Bandit or Survivor it does not matter. You set the goal. Just like everyone else does. If they are out to get you they should be able to and not be robbed from the same features everyone else can enjoy.

    Haha ok. Well then go for what the other dude said. Trust your own intuition. Remove and add what you like its your mod your idea. And if you do get a shitload of bad feedback. Then consider rolling it back. You already increased the ArmA 2 sales by 500%. So you must be doing something right. :P No pressure there hehehe. All i expect from this game is more items to be added and more features. The core of the game in my honest opinion is perfect right now. With about 600-700ish zombies spawning. Noticable difference between Evil bandits and Survivors. Though everyone for themselves does sound tempting to. Just a complete all out deathmatch war for beans and ammo. And the shitloads of braindead zombies trying to claw your brains out and eat them.

    Try everything and pick out the best things. Start polls on what people like. And pick the best stuff out of it. Thats how i would do it.

    Exactly what Worrom said. Bandit/survivor system is a key component into the dynamics of the game. The less noticeable a bandit gets the easier it is for them to tell everyone they are friendly. Groups of survivors are rare as it is already. This would only push everyone further into being a loner bandit or loner survivor. Specially with the plan to increase the zombie spawns (i know 1.5.7 was a mistake but still 650 would still be alot when you are a loner) Removing it (and possibly replace it back later) would change the whole atmosphere and i believe that to be for the worse kind of atmosphere. Right now the balance is great. But however if you are going to work with skins that people can pick up and wear (a better word would be clothes i think) Make it so that you can distinguish the person wearing it from Bandit or Survivor. Even the slightest change should be enough. Im looking forward to how this pans out though. I love the game alot im addicted to it.
