So as we all know by now, DayZ is best played with a group of people. Nobody wants to spend hours in the wilderness alone, it gets pretty, well... lonely. With that said any good players out there want to team up? Whether you're a bandit or hero, I don't care as I go both ways (you sicko). No squeakers please! Don't worry, when you buy Arma 2: Combined Operations it always shows separately.

Try restarting your computer. If that doesn't work, launch Steam and right click Arma 2 and/or Arma 2 OA and hit > Properties > Local Files > Verify Integrity of Game Cache. For BattlEye right click Arma 2 OA and hit Reinstall BattlEye Anti-Cheat. After this it might require another restart. Note: Before you install/play DayZ, you need to run Arma 2 and Arma 2 OA then close them, I heard. Sorry if all these don't work, I'm just telling you what I would do in your situation. It's likely to fix the problem.

Sounds a bit odd, try hitting the respawn button when you spawn in-game in order to commit suicide.

Check out TheLaughingMan (specifically Bliss 2) they have a really good Anti-Hax so it's hacker-free, I've played for about a week and I don't think I've seen a hacker in all the time I've played honestly.

Lone wolf can be fun but man I have tons of fun with my mates. Get like six people in a Skype call or Teamspeak and just do a bunch of crazy shit, you won't get bored. There's always -something- to do on DayZ. Unless you play for over 10 hours straight which I've easily been doing lately x.x -- no life.

Funny, I don't know who even one of the people you mentioned is. I only know of SideStrafe, rhinoCRUNCH and some others.

You need to provide more information for us to be able to even begin helping you. What does the error say? Post some screenshots if possible.

Here is the thing, I consider myself a bandit for two reasons.1) I enjoy shooting other survivors, oh yes I do. 2) I feel I don't have a choice, either shoot first or get killed. Now the solution to this I feel, as stated in another topic, is to make zombies more of an obstacle, and make PVP even harder by removing third person. Short and sweet. @Fraggle - Totally agree, and that's why we're all waiting for the standalone. Whatever ideas aren't added to the DayZ mod should be added to the standalone since it's more thought out.

I agree, and that's why we need to remove third person, so that the game is a lot scarier played through first person and at the same time, realistic. Therefore shifting the concentration of the user to the zombies, rather than another survivor (Which may break out into PVP, which is typically discouraged as to popular demand it seems). It may not sound fully logical, I understand, I read what I write. But think about it and it should make sense. Another thing, sort of irrelevant to this topic: right now players aren't too much worried about zombies because they simply camp a roof, giving the zombies no access to getting to (cherno sniper rooftops for example) and to make this game more of a battle for survival, it would be cool to implement new types of zombies, such as an animal that can climb buildings and sneak up on you. Heh... that might be jumping the gun but its an idea to make zombies more of an obstacle.

You know I can't decide myself whether I would like to have third person on the standalone or not, but I'm becoming more lenient to one side. While I understand third person gives a huge advantage to oversea an area without potentially giving away your position, we have to realize it's unrealistic. I read someone's post which said it makes you dizzy playing DayZ right now first person, the solution to that is turning down headbob. And I have a feeling the standalone will have an improved feel to playing in First Person as oppose to how it feels right now, just as any other FPS game anyway. In reality first person is the ideal way of playing shooting games, and I think the reason why there's third person in Arma 2 is because it's supposed to be a war simulation game. So my guess is, they added this feature in order for users to be more capable of spectating the battlefield as it being a simulator and all. Unless the DayZ standalone is going to be considered a zombie apocalypse survival simulator, then it would be ideal to exclude third person as a feature in the game. Otherwise, It would open up for much more realism into the game to keep it only First Person since, for example a sniper laying on the roof would have to peak his head out to overwatch the area, in response to this another survivor spots the sniper camping on the roof and takes cover. Now the confrontation begins and it's all fair game. And no, I'm not only thinking about player VS player action here, I know on DayZ right now when I run from zombies in First Person, I press the keys to look back-left and back-right to see the zombies chasing me and it works like wonders. DayZ doesn't need third person and it shouldn't exist, right now I feel it's only a privileged feature.

We were playing The Laughing Man Bliss #2, a popular Private Hive server capped at 60 players mostly, and we let our friend Jordi fly which we've heard him tell us before that he doesn't know how to, so we'll see how well he does next ;). Enjoy!
