    The island of Lingor would be cool to place a similar dazy in. Might be too resource/object heavy, not sure.

    Why can the people spawning in the sea not just swim north until you hit the coast and then run east? Its not hard. Why do you have to keep your stuff? You can just go reacquire it again.

    Need help (nothing serious ;)

    Its one of the recent beta patches I believe. Could be wrong. Try playing game with normal (non beta patched arma ) in steam. Right click combined ops. Check version number in game is non beta then join dayz server. Might see the text then. You dont need info though. You know how long you have been alive. You dont need game to tell you. Use dayz wiki to learn how to navigate and orient yourself. If you rely on the type out to tell where you are you are just walking beans for a bandit anyway lol

    Update (and potential spoiler warning) - well not really but these are some of my thoughts after reading all of this thread ... I know it’s a wall of text but read on… I joined dayz only mid-May so doesn’t have access to the previous dayz sfx pbo addon file (it’s probably out there somewhere). But the ones i do have access to I had a peek in with pboview (a mod unpacker used by all ARMA mission makers) and found the following: No ogg file with this radio broadcast in. Now maybe it is in the base game addons i don’t know but i figure if it is not in the sfx file (or the code or the others as far as i can see) then it cannot be part of dayz specifically. However- the Morse code is pretty cool and I do not see why that mix of audio would exist in the ARMA II base files - especially if it mentions ‘quarantine’ in morse ... - I could be wrong though... The sound file might be part of the dayz mission you download each time you play the game - but that would make the mission file very large considering you download it every time you join a server... I think. But what I did find that I am AMAZED no one else has posted in these forums (searched key text strings - no results or on google either really) is the contents of a story.txt file I did stumble across in the sfx addon file. The contents are here: "Random tape from loot EXRAD Find the Doctor's campsite - Full of zombies - Find the next tape Rescue Doctor's Co-worker from Building - Get a vehicle - Clear the zombies - Collect Co-worker - Deliver co-worker - Co-worker recommends you visit the doctors laboritory Search the Doctor's Laboritory - Timelocked, can only visit at night - Visit the site - Collect the ? Get Anti-radiation protocol from the Hospital - Diethylenetriamine pentaacetic acid (DTPA) Find the door-codes on the downed helicopter - Find the helicopter - Find the door-codes Visit the final bunker and discover the Doctor - Maximum time" Now - make of that what you will. I don't think I am giving anything more away here than whoever wrote this text file (Rocket Himself?) - it may be just a scratch pad that accidentally got left in the pbo addon file when it wasn't supposed to. Maybe its something else. Looks like a brain dump of some ideas - I do the same thing for ARMA missions I make... Anyhoo - if I were 'outing' info that you might not want to know or the devs are implementing I am not too worried as they can change the details of any content above very easily and I doubt whatever may come in the future with dayz* is set in stone and the devs have evolved the ideas above so far as to be very different now. (* if any development is still being done considering the glad-handing and promises of vulture $$$ investment to Rocket at E3 - i would be on a beach holiday in Hawaii if i were him right now lol) Also note the pboview is not a cracking tool - 100's of more experienced arma players will have tried to dissect the addon and mission files. So don’t flame my beans bro's. Lastly - it is crystal clear that Rocket must have played some extensive Fallout 3 or FO3 Las Vegas sessions at some point. You can see Fall Out 3 threaded through dayz like Blackpool rock. Empty cans and whiskey bottles? Winnie? Killing fauna for meat? zombies/ghouls? Its all there - and copying is the sincerest form of flattery so hats of to rocket and Bethesda (the maker of Fallout games). Heres the clincher - – morse code in FO3 - Radio tower oscar zuluSo there is too much coincidence here – tapes, radio towers, morse code, apocalyptic stage etc etc. If some of the themes and questing from FO3 can be borrowed into day Z I think it would be really cool. Ultimately the ARMA/OFP engine is the only limiting factor. /blod out

    Carebears ahoy!!!! Stop whining guys. No one is gonna reset you lol. It's a survival mod - you just don't get it do you? You need to do some surviving. So swim or run until you either survive or die. If you dont wanna lose your stuff you should not be playing this mod. End of.

    What Day Z really needs: Bicycles

    As I remeber (having played 100's of hours of non dayz ARMA) and not bothing to open the editor and play with them again as I am on a tablet... - There are 2 or possibly 3 different kinds of bike in ARMA already. - They can be insanely fast on tarmac'ed roads - as i recall as fast as 56km and maybe faster on inclines. Which compares with running/walking - * below. It could be the high speed is what put the devs off placing more varieties of vehicles on the map. There are motor cycles, quad bikes, and even VW Golfs all native to the ARMA II/OA common addons but they are all surprisingly fast (as you would expect). Maybe they already do exist? - Both bikes have bells.     Server-Wide Killing/Hack

    I am guessing the people complaining here and reporting these issues might be some of the huge set of posters on these forums who have never played much or even any ARMA besides this mod. Maybe you should just read the forums rather than posting "please help me" "fix this bug" posts when in actual fact if you had any proper experience long term of the game (not DayZ but the GAME ARMA II) then you would know that many of the bugs have been in ARMA II forever and are not particular to DayZ. I have been playing on servers for years in all kinds of missions and mods and hackers are commonplace - usually of the grief'er variety where they come on a happy server and just ruin it for everyone. Solution? Restart server, respawn, do as best as you can and just move on. Leave the DayZ team alone for christ's sakes. I cannot believe they even bother replying to these posts as they are doing their work for no profit (yet, we hope!) and can only achieve so much with their time.

Since about 3 hours ago (11am GMT 21st may) when i logged in i was in my log out location for about 2 seconds and the was cut to black cut scene and fade in again in the middle of the see 100's of meters or more from the coast. There seemed to be a bunch of players with me in the water in a small group. They were russian and i couldnt understand the chat and alt-f4 out as i dont want to be in the sea losing all my stuff. Will wait a while and see what happens but i think i will lose most of my gear and will swim to the shore (half an hour or more of swimming) or just respawn. Anyone else seen this today? It cannot just be me and it was on 2 servers so I imagine this is happening to lots of folks today. Love the game and love the devs! I've played Opflash for 11 years now and never seen this wild interest before.
