When I sign into a server I have an issue with my graphics being interlaced with a blue screen, I've adjusted my settings multiple times and I can't seem to fix the issue. Sorry for the quality of the pictures, I took them with my cell phone. My Computer Specs: Gateway DX4831 Processor: Intel Core i3 CPU 530 @ 2.93GHz RAM: 6 GB Memory: 882 GB Graphics: Intel Graphics Media Accelerator HD

Hmm I never know maps worked that way. Good to know. Thanks. Why can't more hackers be like that? lol

What about the markers that were placed all over my map? They were for locations along the coast like firehouses, bike spawn, stuff like that.

The other day I logged out while on the roof of the hospital in Berezino. I had joined a server and noticed there was a player with a blank name, just his ping, so I figured I wouldn't take the chance and hit alt-f4 while the server was still loading. Today I logged in, and my character is on the other side of the coast in Komarovo. On my map there were a bunch of markers placed that I didn't put there. Thankfully whoever was on my account didn't get me killed. Is it possible that someone hacked and gained access to my account? I'm the only person in the house on this computer and that plays DayZ, so it wasn't someone else using my computer. If it was someone else on my account, how can I stop them from doing it again? Thanks. -Echo

EVERYBODY HACKING, ON EVERY SERVER!
EchoJuliet replied to thrasher (DayZ)'s topic in Mod Servers & Private Hives
You didn't report anything though. You came in here to talk about a problem that we already know about. If you had come and said "So and so is hacking, here's my proof" then it would be fine, but you just made a post talking about an already known issue. If you don't like the hackers then keep your server password protected and get over it. The only other option is to quit playing. Everyone realizes hackers are an issue, but that doesn't mean we need to have a million posts telling us so. -
Just throwing in my input. People who say DayZ will never go stand-alone because of the bugs and glitches, look at minecraft. Yes, I know it's not the same genre and it's not as complex as DayZ, but minecraft was released during it's alpha stage and currently has about 6.8 million copies sold. I think that goes to show that a game which is still in alpha can be very successful. Also, the buildings may be similar and some of them you might not be able to enter, but have you ever played call of duty? Yes it's not sandbox, but did you know that one of the building designs featured in Modern Warfare 3 was a carbon copy of a building used in Call of Duty 4. That didn't stop MW3 from sell millions of copies. All I'm saying is that DayZ is a great mod with a lot of potential to be an amazing stand-alone game, despite it being in alpha stage or if some of the graphic content isn't that amazing. All of these things can be fixed and patched as a stand-alone, just as easily as it could if it remained a mod.

My first time playing DayZ I walked into the school in Cherno (I think) unarmed. This person came down the staircase, looked at me then shot me for no reason. A day or two after that I had a shotgun and I saw a sniper, I figured with a sniper he wasn't out trying to get a head shot on Zed so I shot him and looted him. It was either get sniped while I was leaving town, or kill him and save myself. If I see someone being chased by Zed I'll kill the Zed and leave the survivor, but only if I feel like my life isn't in danger. In a real apocalypse, I'm looking out for myself and my group before I worry about anyone else.

I've grown more accustom to playing on lower traffic servers and not sticking to one server for too long. I'd rather not take any chances.

That makes sense. It was a shame, I had just fixed a broken leg after crawling around for like 20 minutes, just to be spawned there and killed :/

I was playing on a server the other day, and in the middle of heading for some woods every player on the server was suddenly spawned in a large open field in a group. Of course everyone started shooting one another and I was killed, but what was the reason for the spawn? Does this happen when the Game Time is up, or was it something the server admin did just because they could? Thanks. -Echo
