i play dayz for one main reason: i have to go through hell to get decent gear.so,finding a hacked box(it's been more that 4 months since i found one though) or spawning stuff(scripting or abusing admin powers) just ruins the game in my opinion.i created this thread because i've discussed that with guys that had different opinion,they believed that the game is all about killing players and/or zombies,and they really hate finding loot,and they prefer servers that spawn you with an AS50 and 10 mags.so i wanted to see what the rest of the community thinks.i play to survive first,and then kill,so i'd prefer to go on a loot run,find shit gear,and then find a dmr in a random heli crash in the middle of nowhere right when im about to hide and disconnect,than spawn with one,it just feels good to find a good gun,it feels like i cured diarrhea or somehting ! my personal opinion is that when an admin accesses a control panel(or however it's called) the players should be alerted by a message.so the admin will have to explain why he accesed it.it's like some wasteland servers,you kill the admin 6 times in a row,he sucks bad,then a message says " xxxxxx opened the debug menu" and then the admin kills you, your whole squad of 8 guys,and the remaining 10 guys in your faction's base with an m4 :P you know he just abused his powers so you just leave the server,and the server gets empty,and the admin will think twice before abusing his powers again. I'm really surprised that noone said "He paid for the server,he owns it,he can do whatever he wants" yet!!

when you have a character that survived for 60+ days,you lose count of kills and you want to know how many kills you have,zombies/players and bantits.plus we need something more hardcore for bandits than just a towel on the head.change of outfit means nothing,numbers do.when i helped a random survivor as a bandit he asked me how i got the bandit skin since i was helping people.he didnt believe that i killed 20+ guys up north.call it showing off,but since bandits choose to survive the hard way,by killing and looting,the should at least be able to show it to others

thing is that back when dayz came out it was easy to find friendly players that were willing to come and give you blood,plus most of them wouldn't shoot on sight.now,they will shoot you just for the fun of it,even if they said they'll come to give you blood,even if you have just a winchester.i love the mod,and i love it because it's not easy,you literaly have to fight in order to survive,but after 30 days of playing with the same character,surviving ambushes,sniper fights in story,desync car crashes and colds,just to fall under 500 blood thanks to ZombieMike Tyson and then get eaten while passed out is annoying!

since you will be the one applying the medkit to yourself,they should add some more stuff than just infection.For example,the amount of blood it gives you it's 5000?If your blood is really low,let's say 1.2k ,then there is a HUGE chance you pass out during the blood transfer and the medkit gets destroyed and you get only 3k instead of 5.Or, some of the bloodbags could be completely useless for you since it's not your blood type or something as Elvaron suggested.Plus,if they add item damage,some of the bloodbags/medkits can get destroyed by a bullet.We really need self medic since some of us lone wolves dont have the ability of killing 5 cows to be full in blood again,we could be low on ammo,or have players and zombies that we dont want to alert

sniper in elektro hills clears the city from everyone.i run with a hacthet screaming.he turns around,i hatchet his face,he dies.i got an as50 and a coyote backpack.i still love that guy :D

I'll start answering from the last question. YOU DONT TURN ON THE FLASHLIGHT unless you wanna get shot by a trigger happy camper.but if you insist,equip it as a weapon and press "L" now about the map,you have to be lucky.most common place i believe it's a supermarket but i've found maps in military camps and in houses food and drinks can be found everywhere.same with the map,your best chance is a supermarket and then houses. just a tip,if you are not gonna be a bandit,stack your backpack with food water and morphine(and bloodbags if you play with friends),you'll ran out of food and water before you realize it,it's better to have more than you need

So i hadn't uploaded a DayZ clip in a while,so i started new series on IslaDuala.I got 2 episodes already up,the first one is just me failing as a bandit :P Check it please :D

So,i had a discussion with a friend of mine,about dayz's "loot of the dead".she was saying that when you die,your tent should disapear so you won't be able to rearm like nothing happened,and that your dead body would disappear after X minutes.My reply was that this is unfair to the guy that probably killed you,he won't have a "trophy" for his victory.I was thinking about that for a while and now i came up with an idea that i'd really like to get some feedback on,because i personaly think it's really good. When you die,by zombie,by a player ,by jumping off a roof by hunger,by whatever you want,your loot will stay there,and your tents will stay there.BUT if someone loots your body,he can take your map.If you have placed any markers on your map,he can see them,and he can follow them to get to your base or the location you marked for some reason.Plus the marker will not be deletable(is that a word?).meaning that you marked with a pen and you can not erase it,so your markers will stay on the map,and you'll think twice before you place a marker. I came up with that cause in dayz mod,i got the feeling that the maps are completely useless now,everyone knows the areas really good.i remember the first days of DayZ,when finding a map was a reason to party and i miss them :P

well,my idea is all about "personal maps",so the maps can be added in a diary or something,that you can write and cut pages and leave notes or something,and as Chabowski said,i mark enemy camps or enemy campers.i dont want my markers to visible only on my map,but i can share them with clanmates etc.but just placing a marker in direct or in side and then deleting it is not so realistic.you should be able to give your map to someone,or just show it to him or something.

Yeah,i memorized my camps as well,in lingor,panthera and chernarus,i dont need a marker cause i've learned the maps and i can move around,but some guys use markers to mark something the want to pick up later or something .that's how i want the map to work.the markers could be put automaticaly on the map as soon as you place a tent,or as soon as you park a car.if not exactly where you put em,it could be something like a big circle in the general area of the stuff.having a diary that you can write and that others can pick up when you die is a nice idea but it will be abused by trolls for sure.

in lingor,namalsk and panthera i see way too many markers on the map,most of them legit.working car full in guns,2-3 tents with food and m4's,or a chopper out of fuel.people are stupid,2 days ago 2 guys were talking through side chat and one said "im placing a marker on my location,deleted as soon as you see it" i shift-marked it and moved on them,sniped the first guy that placed the marker and killed the other that came with a pickup truck.free stuff ftw! or,we can expand my first idea by saying that your tents and cars are automaticly marked on your map,as blue tents and cars,so if you die or give your map to someone,he can see where u placed your tents,where you parked the last car you had etc.

guys that are too stupid to read their coords to their team or write down the coords of their base,guys that find a car but need fuel or repairs so they place a marker to remember where it is,and last,guys that died from a camping sniper and marked him down to warn the rest so instead of having the direct/side chat marker thing,it should work more realistic,meaning thet the marker you placed is visible only in your map

1st question:Do you live under a rock? 2nd question:You couldn't google it? The answer is that DayZ standalone is coming(some day soon i hope :P).My personal opinion is buy Arma and play DayZ for now,arma has a lot more features than just DayZ

So i did a search in the forums and i didnt find any other similar topic,so i hope that im not double posting or something. So my suggestion is: make DayZ mod accept arma sound mods.i.e. i use jsrs sound mod when i play arma,and its a pain in the ass having to deactivate it everytime i want to play dayz.I was gonna say create a more realistic dayz sound mod,but since standalone is coming i dont think it worths spending your time like that.

i use jsrs in ace and wasteland(the 1.5 version is not added on every server though) and about that: . if they add any of ace's mechanics in dayz,it'll be beautifull.it'll be more realistic,and more survivalistic again

clever idea.i'd like to see the same in buildings,being able to barricade a door in a house and lock it so they'll have to shoot it open,lockpick it or kill and loot you in order to take the key.but that needs way too much work,and i dont know if arma can support it

So me and my clan used to have our own server but we're not playing dayz THAT much anymore so we dont have one.but we're looking to join one,to have a regular server that we can join and have fun.we're not asking for reserved slots or crap like that,just a server with good community and nice admins,not butthurt ones that erase our base or ban when we kill them.we're interested in european servers only,ping on US ones is 250+ We dont care if the server just started or is running for a while,just tye the name or the i.p. and the "best features"

he could be a hacker,transforming himself to a dog ,to make you be like WTF while his friend shoots you.or the dog was really a way to alert you that something is gonna happen?!

So,i was playin in a server yesterday,and im trying to connect now and i get the error "deleted content deleted.rmod" i havent updated/downgraded anything since i logged last time. A google search gave me a site and they were reccomending downloading a file and startind my game with "-mod=@dayz;@rmod".i dont know if its legit or not,so i hope ill get some help here.Thanks for your time

butthurt punishing bandits is just unfair.you want to stay alive?dont be in a snipers scope.Running like Lassie in electro during nightime,throwing red flares at your destination and holding chemlights,is not helping(yes i saw a guy doing that,i killed him for plain stupidity).Like in every multiplayer game,you'll come across lots of playing styles.KON,tricking you to kill you and shooting your legs making you zombie food,etc is just a part of the game.istead of punishing the killer,grow a pair and be smarter and take him down

Dont trust fresh spawns.Don kill em if they are unarmed,but get the fuck away as soon as you can,if they ask to run with you shoot em in the leg,cause they WILL kill you when they find a weapon. Do NOT go on marked choppers,cars,camps,etc.They will be there,with lots of flies around,and a bullet just for your head. Never ask for blood transf or morphine,they will know you are in deep shit,and easier to kill. As others said,find a priv hive and play.I havent tried BB's yet but i've heard they're good,myself im playing with my clan on xs4all severs and now we started on a really good server on lingor,filter: 16th Infantry Regiment-1stID ,the guys that host the server are really nice,and the community is good Now,about loot spawns,the whole map is a spawn area.when you first spawn you'll be south,if you;re south west try to sneak in balota's af and then the tents,if you're lucky you'll get an ak.By all means,avoid Elektro/Cherno if you're alone,zombies and players will destroy you.Just head north,moving through the trees,with the road always on sight,just in case a car passes and you have a clear shot.Loot barns for shotguns,and then move in Novy/Stary area.It's hot,but hiding saves.Hide for a while close to the tents and wait to see whats going on.You'll be able to spot snipers changing spots to get a good shot in the tents,and you'll see players going in for the loot,and zombies will show you where the noobs are coming from.Wait for the fight to start,spot where the campers are exactly and move in when there is only one winner,and take him.He'll prolly be already injured,so you kill->loot->leave,Then you can head north,to challenge your luck,or start roaming the woods for a hidden camp,or move in small cities to get food,water and zombie kills.in priv hives,dont start killing A LOT unless you want every skilled bandit on your ass,just to prove that he is still "the best". If you have friends that play the game try to team up since its gonna be usefull for blood transf,covering fire and zombie control.joining a clan is fairly easy,just try to find one that has your play style,or you'll get bored.remember,dying is not an option
