Ideas for creating a more immersive experience (on the standalone)

imo, when you know something, like cooking, breathing, whatever with and can do it normally, its so easy that you can do it without thinking, so no complex stuff -
tell me more about the dogs, are they usefull? Can they kill? Can they truly help you are they just for appearances? well, can anyone, answer those questions?

Will OP deliver, if so proof it with screens of the progress of your work, also not to disappoint you, but i doubt that rocket will accept it, but you may use it for your portfolio

dude, what about snipers? and this is too troublesome to do, there are lots of possibilities that can count as an attack but not really be one

dude, cant you see, one million players, do you think they are arma 2 players? Maybe the first 10 k, but the rest are the people who bought this gmae thinking it would be a zombie zurvival game, sandbox and filled with nice stuff, now we can see it has become a new cod, with more weapos per map than the chernaurs army even had, now we have a very weird world full of ghillied snipers everywhere, and full of military grade weapons, this has become a warzone. WE WERENT PROMISED THAT, nor did we even want it in the beggining, we came here for survival, but theres no desperate need for survival. let me tell you what really dayz is about; 1st, you enter here like a noob, roaming like a idiot, and not knowing what to do. So you watch a tutorial, doing that you start knowing more what to do. 2nd, experience, you slowly learn what to do and how to survive. And maybe you find a player, then you try talking to him, either you get killed kill him , he goes away or maybe you 2 join together. Now the possibilities are endless, join a group in the forum, join a clan, whatever, you just get on with or idea of zombie survival game, no one came here to hunt people down. But then either your first kill or death comes, the emotion is very intense this game makes you realize that life in here matters a lot, you care, not only is any encounter almost unique, but so rare that you dont see everyone. And finally, you learn how to play expertly this game, all ways, with a group or not, everything. And the game stops being challenging, and after this it becomes easy, after mastering this game, surviving becomes boring, theres no fun or surprise anymore in just surviving. Your character is so well equipped that you dont know anything anymore to do, and then you go hunting cars. They are ok, you drive happily throgh chernarus, looting and finding more stuff. But when you hide it, come back and find nothing, you learn it is not that good to find a car, why? Because you can run everywhere, and you learnt patience, and with food and drinks it is easy to go wherever you want, this makes vehicles not that usefull, and why do you keep a car with you? to restock when you die, or just lulz around, but scavenging your gear is the best thing in this game so far, so finding your car, which can be stolen and then you lose everything, "bases" are not everything that we hoped for, we all know if we put a tent in any place of the map, someone will loot it eventually, and putting a tent, with all your nice gear is too risky. So, in the end we discover pvp, and in the end we stop learning to care about our life,and how to deal with death, and in the end, you start doing almost anything. And by talking to people from some clans i know, let me tell you that theres not one of them who cares about banditry, and no matter what you do, pvp will always be the rule, specially against clans who are already arranging time scheduled cronfontations, and now making little tournaments. This has become a pvp, why? because we can do that, and it has always been a part of the game to have competition, no matter what, this is a competitive game, if someone loots the market before me, they will end up fighting each other, and by receiving freedom we will do that, not because we are dicks, which few are, but because its fun, and doing that keeps us in the game, we have run out of things to do, and just looting all the time is not that good. And if rocket makes it as he say, the game not fun as he said in a interview, well ok, but we will see more pvp, and clans, groups will become the rule, and most people who came here in these huge flock of people we will see them going away, maybe this is good, and by all that i have read, the game will be focusing in groups, and groups normally kos on sight, thus making a game of easy to survive team deathmatch, no matter how hard surviving becomes in groups it will always be easier, and the experienced players will whine about the hardships that come, but they will just destroy the barriers or find a way around, just like the zombies ai has been dealt with. Either we make the game hard for these experienced players, and groups, or we will see some of them leaving too, and the dogs that are coming in the next patch doesnt look to be the answer too. I am no designer, but this game doesnt look like to care about what we are doing anymore

never, leave that crap and use dayz commander, stop lagging behind -
well, actually, you wrong, servers dont fill that fast, this game is popular, but there are also many servers. If a server has 5 players, most are jsut travelling around the world minding their own business, and the probabilty to find one of them is very small, if it happens just shoot. Secondarily, just dont go to servers like this with players sharing tags. even 13 players means you have a little chance to bump into a player, a higher, but still small.

why low level gun if most players can easily get an akm, ak or just an m16. Please put, when loot gets rebalanced, by being dumbed down a lot, then the low level weapons will get interesting and your zombies owuld get interesting due to harsher loot spawn edit: nobody is afraid of pvp, just find an empty server, i do this all the time to gear up, then i jump into an crowded one to pvp, cant people understand crowded ones are almost just for pvp and hackers?

Coloured Arm Bands for quick group ID

my group got used with the way arma 2 plays, now we dont even need something to recognize anymore, we can even recognize who shot each bullet without being warned, teamwork just gets better in due time, i think this game will keep just like this, its for good to add clothing though, getting more attached to the char, but arm bands would be hard to see, and easy to replicate -

well, i am going to stop playing dayz, wake me up when suriving stops being boring, pvp is not the only thing to do, and hackers get banned. I think never, but i am already gradually stoping to play this game

hmm, maybe no, but maybe making the bandit "addicted" to killing can make "withdrawal" so, if certain player kills like 3 people per day, he needs that number to get "high" thus making him a little better at shooting and if he ends up killing a decent amount of people in a single life or day, the number to get high again would get slowly bigger, and while they havent reached their daily quota they can shoot a little worse. The only problem here is that people can end up killig lots of people and getting super focused on PVP, thus ending up in a super deathmatch. For going too much against pvp but trying to think that they must be "rewarded" for their "hard work" too can be a little troublesome, and as designer, we have to think which of the two public, the pvp or non, who will we put more weigh on? Well, since rocket hasnt showed us the briefing of the project nor the GDP we have only to guess by his speeches that he will focus on groups, whichever side they are -

ok, so... hijacking the thread and putting into motion the idea of body language, perhaps we can agree murdering another human been is not something you can escape with your psyche unscatched. I am no especialist on criminals nor stuff, but i can say that although staying sane, people who kill behave, act and have POVs different to people who dont or will never kill, and by implementing something sublte, like movement, briefing or stuff we can maybe indicate to survivors who can notice these diferences due to experience they will be able to identify a bandit easier, if he wasnt seem first and already shot. Just some ideas, and someone should make body language an actual thread, just an idea -

No, also the hats in tf2 suck very much, they are used to boost stats, See the interviews made by rocket, also go back to cod And use search function, and stop spamming ideas that everyone has had before, newblet -
dude, not a bounty being placed by the system, go to the survivors camp and go there and put a bounty into a certain person, then the answer would, why? the dying means you jsut lose your loot, also the hero already hunts bandits PS; STFU go to warZ you newblet, stop whinning

dude, this game has too much weapons and military stuff, its more of a team deathmatch like battlefield or cod, instead of a survivor mod for arma 2. In my city you would be lucky to get a pistol, and even more to find a rifle, and almost super rare snipers. Order would although be quickly reestabilished by another faction, its easy to take hold of all weapons

big and bright yellow is so hard to hide, especiallt flying slowly through cherno and being pulled by the wind stream in the beaches, meaning that it would be just for the lulz, a parachute or more would be quickly needed

Makeshift Supressors (With 100% more believability!)

one question? doesnt supressors diminish the force of the bullet in the impact of the target, like the game the m4a1 cco sd is as weak as an ak, while the m16 without is almost as powerful as the noisier of the rifles, like the akm, and for last the super noisy dinner bell that is 6700 in the game, very nice to kill bandits. another question, can we make the opposite possible, changing gears or pieces in the gun through makeshift to make it although louder, but also more powerfull? I dont even fire my gun at zombies anymore, why go silenced? Not to confront you, but i also do get the use of silencing the gun -
